Abstract

<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper outlines a method for predicting the controllability of a given vehicle through the use of a dynamic model of that vehicle and the response characteristics of a driver, both of which have been developed by the author.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">The driver's response characteristics consist of his sensitivity to the degree of a vehicle's deviation from its course, its deviation velocity and deviation acceleration.</div> <div class="htmlview paragraph">This simulation model has proven to be appropriate by comparing the simulation computation results with actual test results of lane changing, slaloming and behavior against side wind.</div>
