This paper describes in-service post-primary school teacher reactions towards the provision of a Raspberry Pi Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programme designed to build capacity in python programming, circuitry and hardware configuration. The Bridge21 social constructivist model of teaching and learning was used for workshop delivery, and teachers were encouraged to use the same model to enhance Raspberry Pi delivery on return to the classroom. This paper presents results from the analysis of four (N = 4) one day Bridge21 Raspberry Pi CPD workshops delivered in the authors' home institution over the 2013/2014 academic year. This paper examines teacher reactions towards the use of the Bridge21 model for learning about using the Raspberry Pi. The authors' administered a mixed methods evaluation instrument to a self-selecting sample of N = 61 teachers to capture reactions towards use of the Bridge21 model for Raspberry Pi CPD delivery. Qualitative coding of text responses combined with statistical analysis of Likert scales gathered from the evaluation instrument indicate that (a) teacher reactions towards the use of the Bridge21 model for learning Raspberry Pi technologies was positive and (b) teachers intended to use the same model to enhance their own Raspberry Pi delivery in the school classroom.

After design, the tool is field tested for performance. Test results show that this tool is able to detect the presence of birds with good accuracy, provides a fast response in chasing them away, Telegram is able to communicate by giving commands and receiving images, Blynk can provide information on the condition of the tool when it is online and give commands to activate the servo, sound or both of them. With a significant removal success rate, this tool is successful in reducing losses caused by bird strikes in agriculture. Additionally, it has low power consumption and can be integrated with existing IoT platforms for remote monitoring and data analysis. It is hoped that this research can make a positive contribution to efforts to develop sustainable agricultural technology and improve farmers' welfare by protecting agricultural products from bird pest attacks. Thus, it is hoped that the implementation of this tool in the field can provide an innovative and efficient solution in controlling bird pests in farmers' rice fields.

This research aims to create a system that can monitor server room security by utilizing IoT technology, controllers, sensors, actuators, and Telegram API. The system made includes security for the indoor and outdoor parts. The method used in this study is experimental. The output obtained by the user is telegram text messages, photos, and video. Agriculture is becoming a significant sector all over the world due to its increasing population. Improvement in farming productivity and quality of the methods in farming is the challenges found in the agricultural sector without manual involvement in monitoring process. The fulfillment of this process reduces the possibility of food demand. The other major concern in this sector is climate change. In this project, cultivation is carried out automatically without involving man power using robot system. By reducing the man power and time, we can able to increase productivity rate. Web camera is fixed on the robotic set up to monitor the agricultural field. We have designed an autonomous robot for agriculture using real time condition. We are analyzing the field parameters like soil Moisture. The raspberry pi will sense the soil moisture condition using the sensor that is interfaced with it. The raspberry is programmed to ON/OFF the DC motor based on the moisture sensor input for automatic irrigation. The autonomous robot can also be controlled in a specific direction through the instructions given in the webpage. By giving the command on the webpage, the respective DC motor will works and the fertilizer will be sprayed on the field. PIR Sensor is interfaced with raspberry pi to detect the motion in order to safeguard the crops. Raspberry pi is also interfaced with rainfall sensor to measure the amount of rainfall and it will indicate an alert message to the farmer regarding the excess rainfall.

In recent years, the security constitutes the most important section of our lives. Automation of a home is an exciting field for security applications. This area has developed with new technologies like Internet of things (IoT). In IoT, each device behaves as a small part of an internet node and each node communicate and interact. Currently, security cameras are used in order to construct safety areas, cities, and homes. The camera records the images and, when a problem occurs, the problem is detected by monitoring the old record. In this study, an IoT-based system is combined with computer vision in order to detect the people. A Raspberry PI 3 card with the size of a credit card was used for this purpose. A motion is detected by the PIR sensor mounted on the Raspberry PI. PIR sensor helps to monitor and get alerts when movement is detected. Afterward, human is detected in the captured image and sends images to a Smartphone by using telegram application.

In this work, we use a modest PIR built around an Arduino controller to construct an advanced electronic security system. PIR and IR sensors detect an intruder's presence, and the controller interprets the signal from the sensors. Intruder detection activates the bell, places a call, and sends an SMS to a predetermined number using a GSM modem. In tandem, the controller activates a camera to record an intruder's image and send it to the person via GSM module AT instructions.A excellent security system is centrally located, making it easy to maintain a close eye on the entire area, which lowers personnel requirements and labour costs. The continuous improvement in technology underscores the critical need for an efficient home security system to address the prevailing security concerns (such as intrusion and fire outbreaks) in homes. Noticeably, automated home security systems that rely on PIR sensors, smoke sensors, microcontrollers, and android enabled remote monitoring features have huge advantages over manual systems. These automated systems increase the possibility of eradicating security fears in homes by providing homeowners with a good sense of security each time they are away from their homes. This paper reviewed some of the existing techniques previously used to implement advanced home security systems and present a system that notifies homeowners in the event of an intrusion or fire incident in their homes. In addition, the system provides homeowners with a remote monitoring feature via an Android application to stream live events using the cameras or channels provided in the DVR. Internet of Things has captured this era of computing technology. It is made up of advanced technology components that have the ability to transmit, analyze and interpret information and function in accordance to the human behavioral inputs. Here we propose an energy efficient system for lighting up a room based on the occupancy of the room and the intensity of the light using PIR sensors and other components such as LDR and Raspberry Pi. The lighting system of the room is based on a grid format and when a person is in the vicinity or the range of a particular bulb, only then will it be lit. The introduction of Raspberry Pi in the model will also allow monitoring of employee work-patterns. Our proposed system will eliminate the human errors such as leaving the buttons on due to negligence. The advent of such a system will conserve energy, enhance customer service and aid economic development.

Low productivity of crops is one of the main problems faced by the farmers in our country. This can be because of two main reasons. Crops destroyed by wild animals and because of bad weather condition. This paper provides a solution to the destruction of crops by animals. This system will provide a complete technical solution using the Internet of things (IOT) to the farmers to prevent their crops from wild animals and provide information to the farmers to maximize their production. Animals are detected using PIR sensors and cameras where animals are identified using TensorFlow image processing Techniques. Raspberry PI is used as the processing unit of the system and sound buzzers are used to emit the ultrasound frequencies.

This paper shows a way to control a robot using Raspberry Pi and application built in the Android Platform. The purpose of this paper is to control the robot as upward, backward, right or left side and get a live video stream on Android phone from USB Cam by using Raspberry Pi. The Android phone and Raspberry Pi board is connected through WI-FI. As designed, the Android application is the command control center for the robot. The signals which is generated from Android app are sent to Raspberry pi and Raspberry pi receives these signals according to a program written in the python programming language in Raspberry pi. So the commands are processed and the robot is directed with user directive.

Due to Covid-19, there are currently no effective face mask detection applications, which are in high demand for transportation, densely populated areas, large-scale manufacturers, residential districts, and other organizations to assure safety. Also, the absence of large datasets of images with mask has made task more cumbersome and challenging. This project proposes a method for identifying people without wearing using face recognition technique by using python programming and from Open CV library, Keras and tensor flow. Standalone embedded device has been developed by using Raspberry Pi electronic development board and can be operated on Battery power supply, wireless internet connectivity by using USB modem. Automatic e-mail notification has been achieved by sending security alert mail to the user e-mail id when the person without mask tries to enter the premises. This proposed system is more effective, reliable, and this system consumes very less data and power compared to the other existing systems.

With the attributes of modern RFID technology, it can be widely applied as a sensor for monitoring, especially UHF RFID. The advantage of UHF RFID is that it can identify a code of the tag from a long distance and out of line-of-sight. Its disadvantage is its sensitivity to liquid and metal when the tag is implemented on these materials which may affect the RFID reader’s ability to read data from the tag. This paper presents a liquid level detection system on a container with UHF RFID technology. The concept of this system is based on using the benefit t he a pparent d isadvantages o f R FID t ags a ttached t o a container containing liquid. In this case, the RFID reader cannot detect the tag from a far distance, equivalent to a logic of 0. On the other hand, if the container does not contain liquid, the state equivalent to a logic of 1. The principle of this system is converting the obtained data read from the tag (in both tag-readable and tag-unreadable states) by the reader processes on the Raspberry Pi for monitoring on the web browser. On the Raspberry Pi, the Python programming is used to process the data from the reader and connect a SQL database to store data on liquid level. From the results, the recommended distance between the reader antenna and tags implemented on the container should be no more than 3 meters. Also, simultaneous multiple container detection is proposed to detect a maximum of 6 liquid levels.

Current technological advances have made possible for object tracking activity to become more intelligent. In order to track objects, the camera must be equipped with a computing device that can process video images. A Raspberry Pi embedded computer is chosen because of its smaller size, making it suitable to embed into devices such as camera surveillance. It is used to process the image recorded by the camera so that the camera angle can follow the movement of objects. The image processing is performed using the Histogram Oriented Gradients and Support Vector Machine method which is implemented in the Raspberry Pi. Based on the test results, the best accuracy is achieved using the threshold at 175 with the best distance of 6 meters.
