Le present article s’interesse aux monuments funeraires prehistoriques en Afrique du Nord, a travers l’etude archeohistorique et architecturale du mausolee royal numide Medracen. La question posee est comment l’architecture funeraire peut-etre utile dans la comprehension des societes ancestrales ? Malgre la partie importante qu’occupent ces monuments dans la carte patrimoniale archeologique de l’Algerie, la majorite se voit affrontee a la l’oubli et la disparition. Il est important de l’etudier, de le documenter et de veiller a sa valorisation pour permettre une continuite entre passe, present et avenir. Afin d’atteindre nos objectifs, nous adopterons une approche historique. Ainsi que des outils mobilises tel que l’observation, pour l’analyse des donnees, qui sont essentiellement les recueils d’archeologie et les recits historiques. *** Archeohistoric and architectural study of Medracen ABSTRACT This article spots the lights on the prehistoric funerary monuments in North Africa through the archeological and architectural study of the Numidian Royal Mausoleum Medracen. The question asked is how can funeral architecture be useful in understanding ancestral societies? Despite the fact that these monuments occupy an important part in the archeological heritage map of Algeria, the majority are facing the danger of oblivion and disappearance. Therefore, it is crucial to study it, to document it, and to make sure that it is used to ensure continuity between the past, the present and the future. To achieve our goals, we will take a historic approach. As well as mobilizing tools such as observation, for the analysis of data, which is essentially the archeological collections, and historical stories.
