A bird strike describes a collision between an aircraft and a bird or a group of birds. A bird strike refers to any collision between a moving vehicle and a fly creatures. Bird strike are studied through experiments or simulations. The testing method produces reliable results, close to reali-ty. However, these practical experiments are expensive and time-consuming. This study performs numerical simulation of bird strike phenomenon using SPH technique. This article presents how to build a bird strike model on LS-DYNA software. The results of the simulation were compared with experiments, demonstrating that the numerical method is a reasonable approach to examine bird strike problems.

Presented in the present paper are the results of a scientific study that aims to develop and test a different model for analyzing and evaluating the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises in the modern economic environment. Examined closely are the main aspects of the enterprise competitiveness in full consideration of their internal abilities to achieve high results over a long period of time,. The analysis shows that there are new possibilities for researching the competitiveness of the manufacturing enterprises, in search of simpler and universally applicable models and methods for the analysis and evaluation of competitiveness, and in particular that of the industrial enterprises. A new model is proposed for the analysis of the enterprise competitiveness by using familiar techniques, but with the application of a new approach to the grouping of the aspects of competitiveness in three main directions. It is also worth noting that the model. hereto described. is applicable to enterprises of different scale and subject of manufacturing.

Physical parameters, such as temperature and moisture of soil, are important indicators in agriculture. The current study focuses on the development and assembly of an autonomous sensor for soil moisture and temperature through the use of a standard Arduino d1 mini module, equipped with a capacitive humidity sensor. The developed sensor configuration is distinguished with the possibility to transmit data via WiFi communication network and renewable energy system with photovoltaic power panel, which allows the results to be transmitted wirelessly and the sensor to operate autonomously powered by solar energy.

This article proposes an integrated system for monitoring and analysis of the operation of a small photovoltaic plant with the possibility of remote access via the Internet. The system has been built on the territory of Varna Technical University and is based on a mini computer Raspberry Pi 3B + using a Linux operating system. The monitoring is performed by keeping track of the environmental parameters and the input-output parameters of the photovoltaic inverter. Data are presented for a period of three months: October 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The results are visualized by appropriate graphs, demonstrating the change in the observed indicators, both for the entire specified period and for a randomly selected day.

One of the most significant error contributors to preliminary design tools for Photovoltaic power systems is related to the simple parametric Clear Sky models. Therefore, this paper focuses on providing a methodology and a more sophisticated open-source tool for 3 commonly used Clear Sky models. This includes all relevant steps involved in the process - from filtering the raw meteorological data, identification of Clear Sky regions, data redistribution to genetic optimization of selected model parameter, etc.use case is built upon a multiyear dataset obtained from TU Varna meteorological station between 2012-2016. A significantly higher density distribution of Clear sky segments was identified during the summer through the Clear Sky Identification algorithm. To avoid the risk of overfitting the models to purely summer months and poor model fits in winter months, which was found to be the case with the legacy model, the underrepresented clear sky regions (based on θ) were replicated until uniform distribution is attained. Subsequently, a genetic optimization was applied to selected parameters in the Clear Sky algorithms and the updated models showed a significant improvement in low winter months (θ) and even overall performance boost RMSE / MAE /R2. Furthermore, such validations and optimizations are recommended prior to any design or real-time PV-system analysis for the specific location.

High density polyethylene (HDPE) is a thermoplastic polymer which is classified as one of the highly consumed types of plastics. One major advantage of thermoplastic materials is their ability of recycling and reprocessing which will bring considerable economic and environmental benefits. The present paper, therefore, endeavors to explore the practical possibility of using recycled HDPE hollow section as a replacement of virgin HDPE made by the extrusion process. The main focus of the study was to evaluate the mechanical performance of the recycled HDPE and compare the results with virgin or non-recycled HDPE. The modulus of elasticity, tensile yield and ultimate strength, compressive yield and ultimate strength, flexural yield and ultimate strength and the coefficient of thermal expansion were the main parameters to be checked against the respective mechanical properties. Thus, pursuant to the results, it was found out that the modulus of elasticity and the tensile yield strength are lower in recycled HDPE compared to the non-recycled HDPE. However, there is no significant difference between the recycled and non-recycled HDPE for the tensile ultimate strength, compressive yield strength and compressive ultimate strength. The flexural yield strength and flexural ultimate strength properties of the recycled HDPE proved to be superior to those of the non-recycled HDPE. The coefficient of linear thermal expansion of the recycled HDPE sample was 130 μm/(m.°C) and that for the non-recycled HDPE was 142 μm/(m.°C).

Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) was established by Federal Government of Nigeria to tackle the problem of inadequate funding of tertiary institutions which had been a major obstacle to the achievement of sustainable developments in these institutions. This study therefore examined the impact of TETFUND interventions on sustainable development goals (research and academic growth and continuous provision of instructional materials and laboratory equipment) of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was adopted and qualitative data were collected using a questionnaire to elicit information from a total number of 250 respondents from total population of 1,723 staff of the university. From the sample size, 128 (56%) were male while 122 (54%) were female. Data collected were analyzed using regression analysis to test all the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that TETFUND interventions have significant impact on sustainable development goals of Olabisi Onabanjo University. It is therefore recommended that Federal Government should step up efforts to ensure that tertiary institutions (federal and state owned) are adequately funded through TETFUND and also do more in the area of human resource development for the research and academic growth of these institutions.

The study examined influence of undergraduates’ perceived usefulness and ease of use of mobile technologies on its adoption for learning. Two research questions guided the study. Four hundred (400) students were randomly selected from the two purposively selected universities in Ogun State South West Nigeria. The study employed multiple regressions in the analysis of the data collected. From the result it was found out that undergraduate students’ perceived usefulness (=0.305, t=3.867, p<.05) has significant contribution on the adoption of mobile technologies for learning. Also, it was established that undergraduate students’ perceived ease of use (=0.151, t=1.992, p<.05) has significant contribution on the adoption of mobile technologies for learning. The study concluded that perception of students on the usefulness and ease of use influences adoption of mobile technology for learning. Amongst others, the study recommended the need to encourage undergraduates to adopt mobile technologies for learning instead of social media only.

In June 2019, a drone image recording was performed equipped with an RGB camera on an experimental wheat field at an interval of seven days three times a day. Within one day (12.06.2019) information was collected about the weather conditions and eight measurements were made every hour. The commonly accepted indices were calculated: VARIgreen and ExG for the one-month and one-day observations of the received RGB digitized information. A regression model was created for a full factor experiment of type 23. The interaction of the factors that characterize the conditions of the video was evaluated. Conclusions were formulated as to the influence of the factors under which the observations were made. A recommendation was made with regard to which part of the day it is most appropriate to take photos and video surveillance of wheat.

The current study presents the results from the experimental research conducted on the influence of the regime parameters on the process for a five-dimensional Ball Burnishing (BB) finishing process with the help of a CNC milling machine on the Regular Reliefs (RR) obtained on complex functional surfaces. The elements of the technological system, necessary for the formation of RR of type IV on the complex surfaces, are presented. A planned factorial experiment is realized, through which the significantly affecting parameters of the BB process on the size and shape of the RR cells, are determined. The results obtained are statistically confirmed by a dispersion analysis (ANOVA) carried out. Conclusions, regarding the possibilities of obtaining RRs of type IV on complex surfaces through a process of five-axis simultaneous BB, are made.
