The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility studies on the production of yogurt from raw materials of pure milk, sugar, flavor, and the addition of lactobacillus. We conducted the techno-economic analysis, which can be used by zakat mustahik for 20 years, including Total Investment Cost (TIC), Gross Profit Margin (GPM), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PBP), Cumulative Net Present Value (CNPV), Break Even Point (BEP) and sales ratio to investment. The results of the study show that the CNPV/TIC analysis is a graph that tends to increase although not significantly in each period, the project in an ideal time of 20 years. This illustrates that Yogurt production is very prospective because it shows the feasibility of a profitable project. Yogurt entrepreneurs from productive zakat can support the main program of productive zakat, namely mustahik becoming muzakki in the future. The impact of this study is to provide an estimate of yogurt production as a prospective business unit for productive zakat mustahik.

This study investigates the improvement of hydrogen gas production in biomass pyrolysis through the use of Na-bentonite catalysts modified with methyl ester sulfonate (MES), a biodegradable anionic surfactant. Corn cob powder was used as the biomass feedstock in a fixed-bed pyrolysis reactor at 550°C. The MES modification introduced alkyl, ester, and sulfonate functional groups, increasing the catalyst porosity, surface area, and acidity. Structural and chemical changes were confirmed by FTIR, XRD, UV-Vis, SEM, and EDX analyses. The MES-modified Na-bentonite catalyst significantly enhanced hydrogen production, reaching 876 ppm (a 25.11% increase compared to pyrolysis without a catalyst) and also lowered the reaction temperature and shortened the reaction time. Methane production decreased as MES improved catalyst selectivity toward dehydrogenation pathways. The results indicate that MES-modified Na-bentonite is a low-cost, efficient, and environmentally friendly catalyst suitable for improving hydrogen yields in biomass pyrolysis, offering a promising alternative to conventional metal-based catalysts.

This study investigates the effect of helix angle on the performance of electric vehicle transmission systems using a helical-rotor-geared test apparatus. Several gears and pinions with different helix angles were manufactured and tested at two rotational speeds. The research combined theoretical modeling and finite element analysis to calculate natural frequencies, followed by vibration analysis using an experimental setup. The Fast Fourier Transform was applied to accelerometer data to evaluate the dynamic behavior. The results showed that larger helix angles reduced vibration amplitude and noise levels. This occurs because smoother meshing at higher angles leads to improved load distribution and lower transmission disturbances. The combination of simulation and physical testing supports the optimization of gear dynamics in electric vehicle powertrains, contributing to quieter and more efficient systems.

The purpose of this study was to analyze and map research in hydrology content. We reviewed 45 articles related to hydrology content published from 2014 to 2024. There are several previous literature review studies analyzing hydrology in engineering. However, we have not found any studies that investigate the projects, topics covered, and benefits of implementing hydrological processes in science education. The research method used was a systematic and bibliometric literature review using VoSviewer with ResearchRabbit database. This study analyzed content characteristics based on publication year, publication type, country of implementation, research approach, education stage, and hydrology content. The findings show that VoSviewer with ResearchRabbit database can be used as a research mapping baseline. In addition, the authors found that hydrological content varies according to the topic discussed, but very few found hydrological studies in the social field, especially education. The benefits of implementing educational hydrology in science education include cognitive benefits, procedural benefits (skills), attitudinal benefits, or a combination of the three benefits.

This study investigated the effect of sorbent material on the viability of dried A. pasteurianus starter and the use of defined starter culture of fungi Aspergillus spp, yeast S. cerevisiae, and dried A. pasteurianus starter during purple sweet potato vinegar fermentation. Complex carbohydrate in cultivation media protects cells during drying, while rice flour as sorbent material absorbs water to obtain dried starter of A. pasteurianus. Increasing the ratio of cultivation media and sorbent material from 1:1 to 1:2 could reduce aw of dried A. pasteurianus starter that will prolong storage time. Mixed starter of Aspergillus spp, yeast S. cerevisiae, and dried A. pasteurianus starter could convert starch to glucose to EtOH to acetic acid during fermentation. However, media saccharified by A. usamii contain lower EtOH and higher acetic acid than media saccharified by A. shirousamii (P0.05). It is noteworthy that A. usamii could hydrolyze starch and protein in rice flour to prevent nutrient exhaustion during acetic acid production by A. pasteurianus. While nutrient exhaustion in media saccharified by A. shirousamii leads to the utilization of acetic acid known as over-oxidation.

Governments have to consider both socioeconomic and health conditions in handling the COVID-19 pandemic. To help them in understanding possible scenarios behind the numbers and deciding optimum policy, this study proposed a Bayesian protected-infected-recovered-dead (PIRD) multi-wave model. Compounds of the Richards curve are used to understand how many pandemic waves possibly occur, how significant is the occurrence of every single wave, and dynamic in every single wave. The model also estimated the mortality rate due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the duration between infection to death, also infection to recovery. We fitted Jakarta’s COVID-19 data from 3 March 2020 to 25 November 2021 with help of OpenBUGS. We learned that their pandemic should consist of at least two waves, expected to have three waves already. By letting social restriction be looser together with decreasing number of new infection cases, Jakarta could have its fourth and even fifth pandemic wave that starts around mid-May to mid-July 2022 and reach its peak around January to February 2023. Vice versa, they could enter the endemic phase around the end of August 2022 until the beginning of February 2023 and finally have zero COVID-19 new infection around mid-January until mid-June 2023 by having stricter social restrictions.
