The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C22H19N3O4, shows a non-coplanar conformation, with dihedral angles between the phenyl rings of 73.3 (1) and 80.9 (1)°. These deformations are induced by the crystal packing that is mainly governed by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a mono-periodic arrangement parallel to the b axis.

Two new coordination polymers of cadmium-containing polynitrile ligands have been synthesized using sovothermal methods. In both poly[trans,trans,trans-bis(μ-dicyanamido-κ2 N 1:N 3)bis(2-methylbenzimidazole-κN)cadmium(II)], [Cd(C2N3)2(C8H8N2)2] n , (I), and poly[trans,trans,trans-bis(2-methylbenzimidazole-κN)bis(μ-tricyanomethanido-κ2 N:N′)cadmium(II)], [Cd(C4N3)2(C8H8N2)2] n , (II), the Cd atom lies on a centre of inversion, in space groups P21/n and P21/c, respectively. In each polymer, each anionic ligand acts as a bridge between two metal centres, forming sheets of 24-membered rings, and in each structure a single N—H...N hydrogen bond links the polymer sheets to form a three-dimensional framework structure. Comparisons are made with the structures of some related complexes.

The title compound, C14H10S2, was prepared from dibenzo[c,e]oxepine-5(7H)-one and Lawesson's reagent in refluxing toluene. Pink blocks were grown by slow evaporation from petroleum ether. The resulting crystal structure resides in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with Z = 8 and Z′ = 1. The structure is comprised of a network of C—H...S and C—H...π interactions. No π–π interactions between ring moieties were observed, most likely due to the lack of molecular planarity.

The title compound, [NiCl2(C4H6N2)4]·2CH3CN, is a mononuclear octahedral NiII pyrazole-based complex. Two acetonitrile molecules are linked to the NiII complex by N—H...N hydrogen bonds. The NiII atom is octahedrally coordinated by four N atoms of four 4-methyl-1H-pyrazole ligands, forming the equatorial plane. The axial positions are occupied by two Cl atoms. [NiCl2(C4H6N2)4]·2CH3CN was synthesized by the reaction of 4-methyl-1H-pyrazole with nickel(II) chloride hexahydrate in acetonitrile solution under ambient conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. A Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed, which suggests that the most important contributions to the surface contacts are from H...H (62.1%), H...N/N...H (13.7%), H...C/C...H (13.4%) and H...Cl/Cl...H (10.1%) interactions.

The title Schiff base, C22H24N2O6, adopts anEconfiguration. The molecule is planar, the mean planes of the phenyl ring system (r.m.s deviation = 0.0059 Å) forms a dihedral angle of 0.96 (4)° with the mean plane of the phenyl ring moiety (r.m.s deviation = 0.0076 Å). In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C—H...O and C—H...N hydrogen bonds into chains extending along thec-axis andb-axis directions, respectively. A molecular docking study between the title molecule and 5-HT2C, which is a G protein receptor and ligand-gated ion channels found in nervous systems (PDB ID: 6BQH) was executed. The experiment shows that it is a good potential agent because of its affinity and ability to stick to the active sites of the receptor.

In the racemic title compound, C26H24N2O2S2, one of the thia-zine rings shows a twisted boat conformation (Q = 0.743 Å, θ = 92.1°) and the other a half-chair puckering (Q = 0.669 Å, θ = 54.3°). The terminal phenyl rings are almost parallel to each other [dihedral angle 21.71 (10)°]. Both of these rings are orthogonal to the central phenyl ring, subtending a dihedral angle of about 78° in each case. The extended structure is consolidated by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds as well as aromatic ring inter-actions of parallel-displaced and T-type. The mol-ecule has approximate C2 local symmetry but this is not carried over to its three-dimensional structure or the inter-molecular inter-actions.

A dinuclear nickel complex with (S)-limonene based amino-oxime ligand has been isolated and its crystal structure determined. The resolved structure of dichloridobis-{(2S,5R)-2-methyl-5-(prop-1-en-2-yl)-2-[(pyridin-2-yl)methyl-amino]-cyclo-hexan-1-one oxime}dinickel(II), [Ni2Cl2(C16H23ClN3O)2], at 100 K has monoclinic (P21) symmetry. The two NiII ions in the dinuclear complex are each coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by three nitro-gen atoms, a terminal chloride and two μ bridging chlorides. Each oxime ligand is coordinated to nickel(II) by the three nitro-gen atoms, leading to two five-membered chelate rings, each displaying an envelope conformation. In the crystal, numerous inter-molecular and intra-molecular hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

The title compound, C20H18O3, crystallizes in the space group P21/c with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit of the cell. The fluorene skeleton is nearly planar and the crystal structure is composed of mol-ecular layers extending parallel to the (302) plane. Within a layer, one formyl oxygen atom participates in the formation of a Carene-H⋯O bond, which is responsible for the formation of an inversion symmetric supra-molecular motif of graph set R 2 2(10). A second oxygen atom is involved in an intra-molecular Carene-H⋯O hydrogen bond and is further connected with a formyl hydrogen atom of an adjacent mol-ecule. A Hirshfeld surface analysis indicated that the most important contributions to the overall surface are from H⋯H (46.9%), O⋯H (27.9%) and C⋯H (17.8%) inter-actions.
