Partial destruction of cement stone or an increase in its permeability during the development of oil and gas fields is a frequent occurrence. There are a huge number of natural and man-made factors that lead to an increase in the gas permeability of the cement ring. This article attempts to investigate the permeability of cement stone in active and abandoned wells. It presents an overview of experimental works devoted to determining the real permeability of cement stone on samples and according to the results of studying the state of wells in various conditions.

The possibilities of predicting the phase state of hydrocarbon deposits by geochemical methods are considered. The article briefly describes the well-known gas-geochemical and petrochemical forecasting methods, and also proposes to use trace element indicators of fluids for these purposes. Based on the study of the distribution of the trace element composition of oils and condensates in Western Siberia, Turkmenistan, the Caspian Sea region, New Zealand and some other regions, the trace element geochemical indicators of naphthides are recommended for diagnostics of oil and gas condensate systems. The fact of the presence of trace elements in the light fractions of hydrocarbon fluids and the revealed genetic differences between oils and condensates make it possible to use trace element characterization of fluids for practical problems of oil and gas prospecting geology. Since by now hydrocarbon production reserves in anticlinal structures is nearing exhaustion, considerable attention is paid to complex combined traps confined to greater depths and severe thermobaric conditions.

The paper presents a method for determining the parameters characterizing the features of the pore space structure of rocks continuously along the section, based on the results of well-log data interpretation. The results of the well-log data interpretation are presented with diagrams of average values of pore and channel diameters calculated continuously along the section, which are consistent with the results of laboratory measurements on rock samples. The proposed method is based on the use of the established correlation relationships between the slope tangent of the graph of dependence of gas permeability on reciprocal of mean pressure drop and the parameters of the pore space structure, determined from the digital processing of raster electron microscopic images.

The main natural sources of hydrogen and associated gases – carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide – for storing hydrogen together with methane in geological formations are examined. The role of the main hydrochemical and microbiological processes that cause risks of leakage and loss of hydrogen due to the activation of physicochemical and microbiological reactions that affect deformation changes in the surrounding geological space of underground reservoirs is shown.

The article examines the national concept of energy security, which is the basis for the energy policy of Greece. The factors that shape the perception of national energy security at the political and expert levels due to regional specifics are analyzed. The influence of these factors (external and internal) on the country’s energy policy is emphasized. The reasons for the liberalization of the Greek energy sector are considered. The article describes individual branches of the energy sector and their role in ensuring energy security. The impact of new trends in global energy markets on the Greek energy sector is considered. The article describes new opportunities and challenges that Greece faces due to the impact of globalization on the world energy sector. The article analyzes the country’s view of its place and role in the implementation of the European Union’s energy policy. Energy projects implemented by leading players with the participation of Greece are listed and characterized. Emphasis is placed on the possibilities of Russian-Greek cooperation in the energy sector.

The article discusses the features of the operation of underground gas storage facilities with the injection of a mixture of hydrogen and methane. It is shown that when such a mixture is injected, its chemical interaction with formation water and rock can occur, which leads to variations in the permeability, porosity and physical-mechanical properties of the reservoir. The consequence of such interaction may be unforeseen geomechanical and geodynamic processes that negatively affect the operation of underground gas storage facilities.

The article considers the goals, objectives, methods and types of geological and geophysical research, criteria for identifying and searching for oil and gas deposits associated with non-anticlinal traps. Proposals are made to improve and systematize the existing methodical approach to solving the problem of detecting and searching for hydrocarbon deposits in non-anticlinal traps.
