This study aims to examine the state of emerging digital platforms producing visual content in Yemen through a case study of the “Nas Aden” platform. The methodology is based on a case-study design, including in-depth interviews with four members of the platform’s team and a content analysis of 48 video clips and 24 Instagram carousel posts published between October 2020 and April 2025. The findings reveal that the platform gradually evolved from a youth initiative into an emerging digital platform under complex political and security conditions, relying on simple tools and social networks while leveraging AI applications to compensate for limited resources. The platform also faces challenges related to constrained funding, political polarization, and intellectual property issues. Regarding content analysis, results indicate that the platform remains committed to its stated goals; however, it did not document sources for some of the historical, cultural, and political stories presented in its videos. The findings further show that videos, especially vox-pop formats, generated higher engagement than carousel posts, suggesting the effectiveness of this format in attracting the target audience.
