If $Bbb T$ is a semi-abelian algebraic theory, we prove that the category ${rm Born}^{Bbb T}$ of bornological $Bbb T$-algebras is homological with semi-direct products. We give a formal criterion for the representability of actions in ${rm Born}^{Bbb T}$ and, for a bornological $Bbb T$-algebra $X$, we investigate the relation between the representability of actions on $X$ as a $Bbb T$-algebra and as a bornological $Bbb T$-algebra. We investigate further the algebraic coherence and the algebraic local cartesian closedness of ${rm Born}^{Bbb T}$ and prove in particular that both properties hold in the case of bornological groups.

The monoid $Cb$ of name substitutions and the notion of finitely supported $Cb$-sets introduced by Pitts as a generalization of nominal sets. A simple finitely supported $Cb$-set is a one point extension of a cyclic nominal set. The support map of a simple finitely supported $Cb$-set is an injective map. Also, for every two distinct elements of a simple finitely supported $Cb$-set, there exists an element of the monoid $Cb$ which separates them by making just one of them into an element with the empty support.In this paper, we generalize these properties of simple finitely supported $Cb$-sets by modifying slightly the notion of the support map; defining the notion of $mathsf{2}$-equivariant support map; and introducing the notions of s-separated and z-separated finitely supported $Cb$-sets. We show that the notions of s-separated and z-separated coincide for a finitely supported $Cb$-set whose support map is $mathsf{2}$-equivariant. Among other results, we find a characterization of simple s-separated (or z-separated) finitely supported $Cb$-sets. Finally, we show that some subcategories of finitely supported $Cb$-sets with injective equivariant maps which constructed applying the defined notions are reflective.

The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of cat$^{bf {1}}-$groupoids which are the groupoid version of cat$^{bf {1}}-$groups and to prove the categorical equivalence between crossed modules over groupoids and cat$^{bf {1}}-$groupoids. In section 4 we introduce the notions of crossed squares over groupoids and of cat$^{bf {2}}-$groupoids, and then we show their categories are equivalent. These equivalences enable us to obtain more examples of groupoids.

This paper establishes two new connections between the familiar function ring functor ${mathfrak R}$ on the category ${bf CRFrm}$ of completely regular frames and the category {bf CR}${mathbf sigma}${bf Frm} of completely regular $sigma$-frames as well as their counterparts for the analogous functor ${mathfrak Z}$ on the category {bf ODFrm} of 0-dimensional frames, given by the integer-valued functions, and for the related functors ${mathfrak R}^*$ and ${mathfrak Z}^*$ corresponding to the bounded functions. Further it is shown that some familiar facts concerning these functors are simple consequences of the present results.

Let $ { mathcal{R}} L$ be the ring of real-valued continuous functions on a frame $L$ as the pointfree version of $C(X)$, the ring of all real-valued continuous functions on a topological space $X$. Since $C_c(X)$ is the largest subring of $C(X)$ whose elements have countable image, this motivates us to present the pointfree version of $C_c(X).$The main aim of this paper is to present the pointfree version of image of real-valued continuous functions in $ {mathcal{R}} L$. In particular, we will introduce the pointfree version of the ring $C_c(X)$. We define a relation from $ {mathcal{R}} L$ into the power set of $mathbb R$, namely overlap . Fundamental properties of this relation are studied. The relation overlap is a pointfree version of the relation defined as $mathop{hbox{Im}} (f) subseteq S$ for every continuous function $f:Xrightarrowmathbb R$ and $ S subseteq mathbb R$.

In 2010, J. Climent Vidal and J. Soliveres Tur developed, among other things, a pair of 2-adjunctions between the 2-category of adjunctions and the 2-category of monads. One is related to the Kleisli adjunction and the other to the Eilenberg-Moore adjunction for a given monad.Since any 2-adjunction induces certain natural isomorphisms of categories, these can be used to classify bijections and isomorphisms for certain structures in monad theory. In particular, one important example of a structure, lying in the 2-category of adjunctions, where this procedure can be applied to is that of a lifting. Therefore, a lifting can be characterized by the associated monad structure,lying in the 2-category of monads, through the respective 2-adjunction. The same can be said for Kleisli extensions.Several authors have been discovered this type of bijections and isomorphisms but these pair of 2-adjunctions can collect them all at once with an extra property, that of naturality.

In this paper, we establish some connections between the concept of an equivalence of categories and that of an equivalence in a bicategory. Its main result builds upon the observation that two closely related concepts, which could both play the role of an equivalence in a bicategory, turn out not to coincide. Two counterexamples are provided for that goal, and detailed proofs are given. In particular, all calculations done in a bicategory are fully explicit, in order to overcome the difficulties which arise when working with bicategories instead of 2-categories.
