Students with learning disabilities often experience challenges in understanding scientific concepts and acquiring related skills. Augmented reality, as a technology-based instructional tool, has significant potential to improve science learning for these students. This study examines the effectiveness of an augmented reality-based intervention in teaching the muscular and skeletal systems to students with learning disabilities. The dependent variable was the percentage of correct responses to questions related to these systems, while the independent variable was the augmented reality-based intervention. The study included three students with learning disabilities and utilized a multiple probe across participants design. The findings indicated that students successfully learned the muscular and skeletal systems, maintained their learning over time, and demonstrated successful generalization. Social validity data indicated that both students and teachers had positive perceptions of the intervention. The study provides evidence supporting the effectiveness of AR-based intervention in science education for students with learning disabilities.
