Research Article310.4018/ijitpm.323209Rationale of Management Principles of Providing Sustainable Development of Rural Territorial CommunitiesMay 18, 2023International Journal of Information Technology Project ManagementYulia Bezdushna + 3 more +3The motivation of the research is to find the answer to why the reform of decentralization of government in Ukraine does not contribute to the sustainable development of the countryside and the peasantry. The objective of the article is to substantiate the managerial principles used to ensure sustainable development of rural territories based on the establishment of a village preservation model of the agrarian system in Ukraine. The article identifies basic features of rural development policy and management using various agrarian system models, in particular, the agricultural holding model, which is currently being implemented in Ukraine, and the village preservation model, which is proposed for implementation in order to preserve and revive rural life in Ukraine. The main achieved results include managerial principles of sustainable rural development in the village preservation model of the agricultural system.Read moreCiteListenSave
Research Article410.4018/ijitpm.323206Can the Project Manager's Transformational Leadership Lead to Project Success?May 18, 2023International Journal of Information Technology Project ManagementMuhammad Khalique Ahmad + 3 more +3Project-based organisations face the challenge of persistent project failures, leaving researchers and practitioners struggling to identify the best leadership style for project success. Data was collected from 289 project organisations and analysed to reveal that the project manager's transformational leadership behaviour and empowerment significantly improve project success. Additionally, empowerment mediates the impacts of transformational leadership and goal clarity on project success. Goal clarity was found to mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and empowerment, but not between transformational leadership and project success. Lastly, contingent reward leadership does not moderate the effect of empowerment on project success. The findings have theoretical and practical implications in the project management field.Read moreCiteListenSave
Research Article10.4018/ijitpm.312255Managing North-South Research Collaboration Projects During the COVID-19 PandemicOct 06, 2022International Journal of Information Technology Project ManagementSulayman K Sowe + 4 more +4Researchers from the Global North and South have collaborated for decades to conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary research. The tools they used to manage their research projects remained virtually unchanged until the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak early in 2020. Since then, a lot has changed, including the nature and dynamics of research collaboration. How are researchers and project managers adapting to this change? Survey data, semi-structured interviews, and personal accounts from 102 respondents from 33 countries are used in this empirical study to investigate the impact of the pandemic on research collaboration projects. An independent non-parametric t-test revealed a significant difference in the research collaboration infrastructure and home environment between Global North and global South collaborators. The findings have practical implications for people involved in collaborative research projects, funding agencies, project management professionals, and universities interested in pursuing or sustaining North-South research collaboration during the pandemic.Read moreCiteListenSave
Research Article110.4018/ijitpm.304056Career Development of Project Management ProfessionalsJul 08, 2022International Journal of Information Technology Project ManagementLila Lenora CardenThe focus of this research is the perception of project management professionals as it relates to behaviors and attitudes for career opportunities that yield extrinsic rewards, including salaries. Career development activities, signaling theory, expectancy theory, and pay transparency are used as theoretical frameworks to examine how country, job position, team size, and PMP certification status impact salaries. I use preexisting salary survey data from 42 countries to show that organizations and individuals may need to consider the signals and expectations they make concerning rewards and the impacts to career development on individual expectations and organizational performance. I further suggest that the use of signaling theory and expectancy theory will support multinational organizations that engage in pay transparency practices.Read moreCiteListenSave

Research Article310.4018/ijitpm.2021100104A Novel Node Management in Hadoop Cluster by Using DNAOct 01, 2021International Journal of Information Technology Project ManagementBalaraju J + 1 more +1This paper proposes a novel node management for the distributed system using DNA hiding and generating a unique key by combing a unique physical address (MAC) of node and hostname. This mechanism provides better node management for the Hadoop cluster providing adding and deletion node mechanism by using limited computations and providing better node security from hackers. The objective of this paper is to design an algorithm to implement node-sensitive data hiding using DNA sequences and provide security to the node and its data from hackers.Read moreCiteListenSave
Research Article310.4018/ijitpm.2021100103An Effective Slant Detection and Correction Method Based on the Tilted Rectangle Method for Telugu Manuscript TermsOct 01, 2021International Journal of Information Technology Project ManagementVijaya Kumar V + 2 more +2This paper proposes an efficient method called tilted rectangle (TR) for detecting and correcting of slant angle of the manuscript Telugu words (MTW). Telugu language is one of India's common languages spoken by over 80 million individuals. The complex characters are attached with some extra marks known as “maatras” and “vatthus,” and it is challenging to detect slant angle. The proposed TR method initially performs preprocessing and identifies a connected component within the given Telugu manuscript word. Then, it estimates the slant angle of each connected component by deriving connected slant lines on the boundary of each connected component. After this process, the proposed TR method estimates the entire word's overall slant angle from the average of estimated slant angle and height of all connected components. The correction of the word's slant angle is done in the reverse direction by applying a simple shear transformation. With 1000 manuscript records of three different kinds, the algorithm is tested. Experimental findings indicate the efficacy of the approach proposed.Read moreCiteListenSave
