The objective of this study was to analyze the use and allocation of mining royalties and fees for financing sustainable projects in local governments of the Cotabambas province, Apurímac Region, during the period 2022 to 2024. The methodology employed was quantitative, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and retrospective design. The sample was limited to the six municipalities of the Apurímac region, based on a review of documentation regarding economic transfers and the allocation of resources from mining royalties and fees, using information published on the Transparency Portal of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru. The study assessed whether the investments made by local governments effectively contributed to the sustainable development of the districts in the province and whether they were aligned with the priorities of the beneficiary population. The research concludes that, although local governments in the province of Cotabambas have channeled significant resources from mining royalties and fees to sectors such as transportation and agriculture, a gap persists between the priorities established in their development plans and the actual implementation in key sectors such as health, education, and sanitation that effectively contribute to the sustainable development of the districts.
