This study aims to examine the direct association between paradoxical leader behavior and the followers’ in-role and extra-role performance in the hospitality industry. Furthermore, this study also analyzes the moderating role of psychological capital. Data was collected through a questionnaire from supervisors and their immediate frontline employees working in the hospitality industry (specifically operating in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan). The results of multilevel path analysis demonstrated that paradoxical leader behavior (PLB) is positively associated with in-role and extra-role performance of frontline employees. Moreover, the followers’ psychological capital moderates the relationship between PLB and the followers’ in-role and extra-role performance, such that the relationship was determined to be stronger when the followers’ psychological capital was higher. The findings of this study extend our understanding of the construct of PLB and how it is related with the followers’ performance outcomes.

The current study empirically investigated the implementation of relational e-HRM practices in banks and examined their relationship with the overall organizational performance of the banks in Lahore during COVID-19 pandemic. It also highlighted the issues that managers face during the implementation of relational e-HRM practices. The mixed method approach was adopted to conduct this cross-sectional study. Commercial banks with their head offices in Lahore were chosen and 171 branches were selected randomly. The purposive sampling technique was used to collect qualitative data and semi-structured interviews of sixteen (16) branch managers were carried out online. Qualitative data was analyzed thematically while covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) was used to understand the effect of e-HRM practices on organizational performance. Most of the banks were found to have implemented all the relational e-HRM practices except e-selection which was implemented only in two branches. Relational e-HRM practices showed a positive effect on the overall performance of banks during COVID-19 pandemic. Centralized decision- making, limited autonomy of bank branches, presence of senior, computer illiterate employees, and inadequate financial resources were found to obstruct the implementation of e-HRM practices. The current research added to the e-HRM literature and examined the association between relational e-HRM practices and overall organizational performance in the context of banks operating in Lahore which apparently was never done before. Only the top commercial banks operating in Lahore, one of the largest metropolitans in Pakistan, were included in this study. The generalizability of findings may be enhanced with further studies.

The primary objective of the current research was to explore how the Knowledge Management (KM) processes of Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Makurdi Metropolis contribute to their Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA). Additionally, this study determined to evaluate how innovation helps the banks to retain their competitive advantage. A total of 265 valid samples were collected from a population of 14 DMBs and 933 respondents were selected from these DMBs. The data was analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). While testing the assumptions, hypotheses 1-3 supported the proposition that KM dimensions; acquisition (β=.32, p <.05), utilization (β=.26, p <.05), and storage (β=.24, p <.05) were directly related to SCA. No evidence was found for the full mediating role of innovation in relation to KM dimensions and SCA, as demonstrated by the data. However, innovation does play a role in certain aspects of KM by demonstrating that acquisition (β=.69, p <.05), utilisation (β=.21, p <.05), and storage (β=.18, p <.05) are positively associated with innovation in DMBs. The findings indicated that managers who responded to KM were more innovative. The importance of DMBs lies in the recognition that knowledge is not a simple concept. A commitment to new discoveries and to new understandings is not sufficient. Enterprises need to pursue knowledge that enables them to add value.

Public service motivation (PSM) is an important concept in the field of public management. The current study aimed to examine the relationship between the quality of work-life (QWL) and PSM of public sector employees. It also investigated how the person-organization fit (P-O fit) influences this relationship. To test our conceptual model, data was collected from 253 faculty members of public universities through a self-administered survey questionnaire. The results of structural equation modeling (SEM) indicated a significant positive relationship between QWL and PSM. The findings also demonstrated that P-O fit strengthens the positive association between QWL and PSM.

This research tends to investigate role of KS practices on overall performance of software sector using critical success factors of KM (i.e. KM process and infrastructure capabilities) as intermediate measures. In this regard, a survey method using the adapted instrument to draw the inference from data collected from software developers. The parallel multiple mediation model proposed and tested by using Process Macro. The findings of study reveal that KS practices have a significant and positive effect on the overall performance in terms of operational excellence, financial achievement, customer intimacy, product leadership. The results indicate that all the constructs of KM process and infrastructure capabilities partially mediates the relationship between KS practices and performance of software sector. Hence, findings of study support all the suggested hypotheses and draws the inference that KM process and infrastructure capabilities support the theoretical prisms of KBV initiatives.

In the business environment today job security is an important and primary requirement of the employees as the employees’ turnover rate is haphazardly increasing in different industrial sectors. This study determines the impact of leadership and organizational identification on the job security of teachers in the private institutions Punjab, Pakistan and the mediation of organizational identification is also tested. Data is analyzed by using Smart partial least squares structural equation modeling (Smart-PLS-SEM). Many teachers suffer from low job security that not only affect them internally but also affect their work performance. Therefore the main objective of our research is to determine the responsible factors which affect the job security of teachers working in the private educational institutions operationalized under BISE Punjab. In this paper, the parameters used for determining the job security of teachers are; Leadership, and organizational identification and mediating role of organizational identification between leadership and job security is also tested. During this study, 150 teachers from different private institutions operational in Punjab were asked to fill up the questionnaires containing a total of 32 items including different numbers of questions related to each determinant. The results showed that the determinants can explain the job security of the teachers up to a significant level. However, regression analysis and validity analysis proves that they are good predictors of job security of the employees (teachers). Beside these conclusions, this paper introduced other scientific queries and issues regarding the different types of relations or connections among the determinants and hence gives probable pathways to explain or interpret the relations.

Globalization and digitization are motivating organizations around the world to manage and internationalize their products and services. Adaptively, most Asian companies are internationalizing their businesses with respect to various industries; one obvious example is the tourism industry. The global tourism industry can be segmented into niche types such as heritage tourism, dark tourism, medical tourism, including spiritual tourism. The objective of this paper is to analyze the rise of spiritual tourism in South Asian countries and discusses its operations that are internationalized rather than being region-centric or locally focused. It is argued that that public and private tourism operators in South Asia have realized that spiritual tourism presents an attractive product to invest and market based on people, places, and events. However, the challenge is to internationalize multi-faith spiritual tourism in the context of people, places, and events that would be the only way to develop and sustain this niche segment of the tourism business. It is argued that there are various factors that could enable South Asian countries to effectively internationalize their spiritual tourism destinations. The paper concludes that business internationalization of South Asian spiritual tourism, will not only achieve economic development objectives, but also social and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and bi-lateral diplomatic goals for regional peace and prosperity

The sports goods manufacturing sector of Pakistan is comprised of 10,400 small and medium enterprises and annually contributes 6% to the country’s GDP. Despite its prominent role in promoting economic growth research on the sports goods manufacturing sector of Pakistan remains limited. This research analyzed the effect of entrepreneurial orientation, access to finance, and strategic flexibility on SMEs performance in the sports goods manufacturing sector of Sialkot, Pakistan. 400 SMEs were randomly selected out of 10,400 sports manufacturing SMEs in Sialkot, Pakistan. A pen and paper survey method was utilized to collect data from SMEs managers. Out of 400 SMEs contacted 372 agreed to participate in research. 372 usable questionnaires were received back. The results show that entrepreneurial orientation and access to finance have a significant positive effect on SMEs performance. Whereas, strategic flexibility was found to be insignificant in affecting SMEs performance.

The main aim of the study is to evaluate and compare the performance of public and private banks in Bangladesh. Performance measured in terms of bank’s profitability always remains the focal point of all the banking activities. Data collected from publically and privately owned and managed banks in Bangladesh revealed that profitability of both banks was not satisfactory though private sector bank was more profitable than public sector bank during the period of this study.

At present, open innovation (OI) practices have gained traction in all industries, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). However, only a few Malaysian SMEs practice OI and there is limited literature available on OI practices in Malaysian SMEs. To address this issue, the main objective of the current study is to reveal the challenges of OI and the role of financial constraints in Malaysian SMEs. To achieve this objective, this study implemented the quantitative approach and adopted the cross-sectional research design. Questionnaires were used to collect data from three hundred (300) data managerial staff of Malaysian SMEs. Cluster sampling was used to collect the data. It was found that Malaysian SMEs faced various challenges during the implementation of the OI system. These challenges included motivating spillovers, maximizing internal innovation, and incorporation of external knowledge and intellectual property (IP) management. Moreover, it was found that sufficient finance is needed to resolve these challenges. Hence, this study contributes in the body of knowledge by developing a framework for SMEs to facilitate OI and by identifying the constraints in this framework. Therefore, the current study can be used for Malaysian SMEs to improve their OI system.
