Fourier transform provides frequency spectrum of signal for feature extraction, wavelet classifier, matching filter design, and etc. Visualization the spectrum of an indexed electrocardiogram signals from Mendeley data base coming in order to evolute mathematical form of filter. The visualized frequency spectrum is for Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR). Filter is proposed for absolute, real, and imaginary parts to be spectrum resemblance. It is trending to ramp exponential function, the nearest approach to work as match filter for NSR signals. Scale and decay factors are set according to a programable and mathematical computations for evolution. The proposed filter is Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and it is found that, it is equivalent to second order Linear Time Invariant system (LTI). Signal purification by filter and interpolation has observed after setting the number of samples per segment length.

The purpose of the research is to develop a universal algorithm for partial texture segmentation of any visual images. The main peculiarity of the proposed segmentation procedure is the extraction of only homogeneous fine-grained texture segments present in the images. At first, an initial seed point is found for the largest and most homogeneous segment of the image. This initial seed point of the segment is expanded using a region growing method. Other texture segments of the image are extracted analogously in turn. At the second stage, the procedure of merging the extracted segments belonging to the same texture class is performed. Then, the detected texture segments are input to a neural network with competitive layers which accomplishes more accurate delineation of the shapes of the extracted texture segments. The proposed segmentation procedure is fully unsupervised, i.e., it does not use any a priori knowledge on either the type of textures or the number of texture segments in the image. The research results in development of the segmentation algorithm realized as a computer program tested in a series of experiments that demonstrate its efficiency on grayscale natural scenes.

A new Modified Discrete Wavelets Packets Transform (MDWPT) based method for the compression of Surface EMG signal (s-EMG) data is presented. A Modified Discrete Wavelets Packets Transform (MDWPT) is applied to the digitized s-EMG signal. A Discrete Cosine Transforms (DCT) is applied to the MDWPT coefficients (only on detail coefficients). The MDWPT+ DCT coefficients are quantized with a Uniform Scalar Dead-Zone Quantizer (USDZQ). An arithmetic coder is employed for the entropy coding of symbol streams. The proposed approach was tested on more than 35 actuals S-EMG signals divided into three categories. The proposed approach was evaluated by the following parameters: Compression Factor (CF), Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), Percent Root mean square Difference (PRD), Mean Frequency Distortion (MFD) and the Mean Square Error (MSE). Simulation results show that the proposed coding algorithm outperforms some recently developed s-EMG compression algorithms.

Local Binary Patterns (LBPs) have been highly used in texture classification for their robustness, their ease of implementation and their low computational cost. Initially designed to deal with gray level images, several methods based on them in the literature have been proposed for images having more than one spectral band. To achieve it, whether assumption using color information or combining spectral band two by two was done. Those methods use micro structures as texture features. In this paper, our goal was to design texture features which are relevant to color and multicomponent texture analysis without any assumption. Based on methods designed for gray scale images, we find the combination of micro and macro structures efficient for multispectral texture analysis. The experimentations were carried out on color images from Outex databases and multicomponent images from red blood cells captured using a multispectral microscope equipped with 13 LEDs ranging from 375 nm to 940 nm. In all achieved experimentations, our proposal presents the best classification scores compared to common multicomponent LBP methods. 99.81%, 100.00%, 99.07% and 97.67% are maximum scores obtained with our strategy respectively applied to images subject to rotation, blur, illumination variation and the multicomponent ones.

Localization for visually impaired people in dynamically changing environments with unexpected hazards and obstacles is a current need. Many techniques have been discussed in the literature with respect to location-based services and techniques used for the positioning of devices. Time difference of arrival (TDOA), time of arrival (TOA) and received signal strength (RSS) have been widely used for the positioning but narrow band signals such as Bluetooth cannot efficiently utilize TDOA or TOA. Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) to measure RSS, has been found to be more reliable. RSSI measurement estimations depend heavily on the environmental interference. RSSI measurement estimations of Bluetooth systems can be improved either by improving the existing methodologies used to implement them or by using fusion techniques that employ Kalman filters to combine more than one RSSI method to improve the results significantly. This paper focuses on improving the existing methodology of measuring RSSI by proposing a new method using trilateration for localization of Bluetooth devices for visually impaired people. To validate the new method, class 2 Bluetooth devices (Blue Giga WT-12) were used with an evaluation board. The software required was developed in National Instruments LabView. The PCB was designed and manufactured as well. Experiments were then conducted, and surface plots of Bluetooth modules were obtained to show the signal interference and other environmental effects. Lastly, the results were discussed, and relevant conclusions were drawn.

Geophysics has played a significant and efficient role in studying geological structures over the past decades as the goal of geophysical data acquisition is to investigate underground phenomena with the highest possible level of accuracy. The ground penetrating radar (GPR) method is used as a nondestructive method to reveal shallow structures by beaming electromagnetic waves through the Earth and recording the received reflections, albeit inevitably, along with random noise. Various types of noise affect GPR data, among the most important of which are random noise resulting from arbitrary motions of particles during data acquisition. Random noise which exists always and at all frequencies, along with coherent noise, reduces the quality of GPR data and must be reduced as much as possible. Over the recent years, discrete wavelet transform has proved to be an efficient tool in signal processing, especially in image and signal compressing and noise suppression. It also allows for obtaining an accurate understanding of the signal properties. In this study, we have used the autoregression in both wavelet and f-x domains to suppress random noise in synthetic and real GPR data. Finally, we compare noise suppression in the two domains. Our results reveal that noise suppression is conducted more efficiently in the wavelet domain due to decomposing the signal into separate subbands and exclusively applying the method parameters in autoregression modeling for each subband.

The constant growth of the number of Internet users places new demands on the bandwidth of modern communication. The World Wide Web has led to the emergence of various types of traffic, Graphics information, voice data, as well as various video applications demanding their special requirements for such networks. To meet all the requests, one increase of the network is not enough. As the number of Internet users and the various networks annex offices in-creases with each passing day, network needs a means of control that would ensure the support of both existing and new applications and services. There is still a need to address a number of issues before it announces the VoIP as the ultimate replacement of the traditional telephone network. This work provides an overview of the major benefits of VoIP network, as well as the presentation of a new way around the problem of ensuring the high quality of service for VoIP protocol on the basis of neural network model.

Up to now, the Mean Square Error (MSE) criteria, the residual Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) were used to analyze the equalization performance of a blind adaptive equalizer in its convergence state. In this paper, we propose an additional tool (additional to the ISI, MSE and BER) for analyzing the equalization performance in the convergence region based on the Maximum Time Interval Error (MTIE) criterion that is used for the specification of clock stability requirements in telecommunications standards. This new tool preserves the short term statistical information unlike the already known tools (BER, ISI, MSE) that lack this information. Simulation results will show that the equalization performance of a blind adaptive equalizer obtained in the convergence region for two different channels is seen to be approximately the same from the residual ISI and MSE point of view while this is not the case with our new proposed tool. Thus, our new proposed tool might be considered as a more sensitive tool compared to the ISI and MSE method.

A novel optimized wavelet packet algorithm is proposed to improve the perception of sensorineural hearing-impaired people. In this work, we have developed optimized wavelet packet along with, biorthogonal wavelet basis functions using MATLAB Code. Here, we have created eight bands based on auditory filters of quasi octave bandwidth. Evaluation was carried out by conducting listening tests on seven subjects with bilateral mild to severe sensorineural hearing loss. The speech material used for the listening test consisted of a set of fifteen nonsense syllables in VCV context. The test results show that the proposed algorithm improves the recognition score, speech quality and transmission of overall feature specifically over the unprocessed signal. The response time also reduces significantly.

Authentication reliability of individuals is a demanding service and growing in many areas, not only in the military barracks or police services but also in applications of community and civilian, such as financial transactions. In this paper, we propose a human verification method depends on extraction a set of retinal features points. Each set of feature points is representing landmarks in the tree of retinal vessel. Extraction and matching of the pattern based on Gabor filters and SVM are described. The validity of the proposed method is verified with experimental results obtained on three different commonly available databases, namely STARE, DRIVE and VARIA. We note that the proposed retinal verification method gives 92.6%, 100% and 98.2% recognition rates for the previous databases, respectively. Furthermore, for the authentication task, the proposed method gives a moderate accuracy of retinal vessel images from these databases.
