This research sought to establish why there is a low presence of women in ICT jobs; yet they con-stitute the larger percentage of the population. The researchers did a literature review, used a sur-vey questionnaire to collect statistical data, and carried out in-depth interviews with key inform-ants who were women in ICT-related jobs in the banking and telecommunications sector in Zim-babwe. According to the study, lack of digital exposure and career guidance posed the greatest challenge for women pursuing ICT-related careers, with 95.74% of the respondents citing this challenge. Interestingly, organizational constraints had the lowest response, possibly indicating that the organizational environment is no longer a discriminating factor towards the progression of women in their careers. The study recommended among others, proper career guidance of the opportunities that ICT has for women and this can be done by the parents, mentors, and institu-tions of higher learning. Career development programs and training can also go a long way in boosting the confidence of women and encouraging them to pursue ICT-related careers.

Cryptocurrencies are a sort of digital money created and managed through the use of advanced encryption techniques known as cryptography. This paper has made a simple explanation of cryptocurrencies (particularly Bitcoin) as well as an attempt to make some future assumptions regarding such virtual currencies with the aid of previous literature and published online sources. The various aspects of these virtual currencies are yet to be discovered in detail, but the author hopes that this simple, basic and narrative paper will be helpful to those seeking basic references regarding this newest issue.

Point of Sales is a system used to make sales transactions. MPC Computers is a retail that sells computer accessories. But in its operation MPC Computer still applies a manual system, so that the services provided are not optimal. Reporting that requires a long time makes it difficult for store owners to determine inventory for the future because the information is not detailed, this results in reduced performance. In dealing with this, a Point of Sales application is made with the SCRUM agile method. This method was chosen because it is fast and light in application development and has a vision of high value products in creativity and productivity. There are three roles in the development of SCRUM, namely the Product Owner, SCRUM Master and Development Team. The Product Owner will define the business requirements needed, then from those needs transformed into a product backlog facilitated by the SCRUM Master, the Product Backlog will be transformed back into a sprint backlog that will be developed by the Development Team. During the execution the requirements can change and be flexible with the consequences of development being disturbed. The output of SCRUM is an application that will provide various modules such as purchasing, sales, inventory and reporting. The goal is to control the number of store inventory assets. So that stores can improve service, get detailed information, save time, and reduce costs.

A specific technological architecture of infrastructure and specific software elements is designed and evaluated for project of Pricelist of Usual Manday Prices of IT services. The principles for the architecture are based on requirements of vendor lock-in prevention, maximum ease of deployment, and maximal use of free opensource solutions. The resulted architecture is designed as Debian Linux host environment running Docker containers with isolated applications with own scripts in node.js, a community software as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Ethercalc, Nginx etc. The architecture was designed and evaluated iteratively during five runs of the project and is prepared for next phases.

The article deals with the overview of the different ways how to measure and evaluate the readiness of companies to industry 4.0. This readiness is described at the national level using readiness indexes. There are presented selected maturity models for the company’s level. The both approaches can be helpful for companies on the way to industry 4.0.

Paper analyses possibilities of upcoming technologies for banking systems and what changing for end users it means. Current processes in banking systems relates on human controlled triggers or pre-defined behavioral responses. Possibility of usage is strictly limited against banking host system, its connection speed and overall performance of infrastructure. New technology in networks (5G) will bring new age for live fraud detection systems, remote banking branch in front of the ATM or changing cardholder bank account limit just using POS terminal. Change of existing processes driven by technology increase variety of use, brings new banking products into human live. Banking products industry should recognize new possibilities of technology and enhance adaptability for application support.

The paper aims to analyze publications with the theme of information management (IM), cited on Web of Science (WoS) or Scopus. About the frequency of publishing about IM was reached the linear growth; from some articles in the period 1966-1970 to one hundred at the WoS and six hundred at Scopus in the period 2011-2015. From the selected publications was subject of the analysis 21 most cited articles od WoS and 21 most cited articles on Scopus, published in 31 different journals, oriented to informatics and computer science; economics, business and management; medicine and psychology; art and humanities; and ergonomics. The diversity of interest about IM in various areas of science, technology, and practice was confirmed. The content of selected articles was analyzed in its area of interest, in relation the text of article to IM, and whether the definition of IM was mentioned. One of the goals was to confirm the hypothesis that the IM is included in many scientific disciplines that the concept of IM is used loosely and mostly mentioned part about data or information processing; and part about the application of information and communication technologies. The hypothesis was confirmed. In analyzed articles was used concept of IM in the broader context of activities, with focus on various aspects of IM. The most frequent area of IM application was business support. The article explains the definition of IM; describes the research methodology, presents results of analysis selected articles. In detail is described the focus on the term IM and understanding it.

Abstract Information systems are developed based on different requirements and different technologies. Integration of these systems is of vital importance as they cannot work in isolation, they need to share and exchange data with other information systems. The Information Systems handle data of different types and formats’, finding a way to make them communicate is important as they need to exchange data during transactions, communication and different aspects which may require their interactions. In Tanzanian Local Government Authorities (LGAs), fixed asset data are not centralized, individual Local Government Authority stores their own data in isolation yet accountability is required through the provision of centralized storage for easy data access and easier data integration with other Information Systems in order to enhance fixed asset accountability. The study was carried out through reviewing of literature on the existing Information System integration approaches in order to identify and propose the best approach to be used in fixed asset management systems in LGA’s in Tanzania. The different approaches which are used for systems integration such as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Common Object Request Broker (CORBA), Common Object Model (COM) and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) were evaluated under the factors considered at the LGA. The XML was preferred over SOA, CORBA and COM because of some challenges in governance, data security, availability of expertise for support, maintenance, implementation cost, performance, compliance with government changing policies and service reliability. The proposed approach integrates data for all the Local Government Authorities at a centralized location and middleware transforms the centralized data into XML so it can easily be used by other Information Systems.

It’s difficult to state exact timelines in software development and it is even more difficult to say when features that users want will be delivered. We propose changes to current software development methodologies that enable companies to be predictably adaptable and deliver both on time and what customer asked for. We do so through research of current literature, interviews and personal experience working at an international company that builds products for millions of customers and is facing exactly the challenges described above.

Migration of legacy assets to SOA embodies a key software engineering challenge. Over a decade there has been an increasing interest in the approaches addressing SOA migration. These approaches mainly differ inwhat is migrated' andhow the migration is performed'. Such differences aggravate achieving a general understanding ofwhat SOA migration entails'. We describe what such migration process entails and what distinct conceptual elements systematically define the process. Based on the comprising conceptual elements the framework which is considered as a basis for understanding and assessment of different approaches is proposed. Further, the role of the migration framework in positioning and assessing the existing methods, is discussed. Finally, the procedure for positioning and mapping of migration approaches on the framework is explained using two example migration processes.
