A methodological review was performed on work-life boundary-related studies published from the year 2010 to 2018. This review systematically selected 59 journal articles on the work boundary phenomenon. The selection criteria for this review closely followed three previous systematic methodological reviews performed on work-life research. Where possible, comparisons were made to integrate the findings of the current study with these previous systematic reviews. Articles were reviewed based on methodological choices such as research design, sampling strategy, data collection, data analysis, reliability, and validity measures. Findings of the review revealed that researchers had utilised a variety of methodological stances to conduct their studies. The majority of the studies in the field followed a quantitative approach, and most studies relating to work boundary management were field studies with a cross-sectional design. Qualitative studies in the area were primarily based on grounded theory. Significant methodological gaps were identified that could be bridged by future studies. Further, notable suggestions were proposed relating to reliability and validity measures taken by the researchers.

In this article, we discuss selected aspects of organisation: organisation as an instrument for achieving objectives, and organisation as an interest group, as well as defining the organisation as a process. Based on a literature review we have summarised the findings of different authors and presented what defines the organisation fromthe aforementioned aspects. The structure of the article follows the AIMRaD methodology: abstract, introduction, methodology, research and analysis, and discussion (Cargill and O’Connor 2009). The literature study research method was used. Findings are presented descriptively and in tabular form with a discussion and comments. Findings of this research are useful for the general, professional public, for the management of different organisations and for researchers from the fields of organisation and management, because selected aspects of organisations are intertwined, and their understanding is related to the basic management activities of each organisation such as planning, organising, leading and supervising and thus related decision-making. https://doi.org/10.26493/1854-6935.19.167-181

Being multinational and complex, global supply chains may be extremely vulnerable to sudden crises, such as the recent covid-19 pandemic. In addition to issues related to the health and lives of people, the pandemic has also had negative impacts on supply chains, and many companies dependent on them have been struggling. The ability to recover from disruptions is called resilience. In this study, the resilience of supply chains is evaluated by studying three globally operating Finnish b2b manufacturing companies during the covid-19 pandemic. The empirical research was conducted by interviewing the companies' supply chain and purchasing operations representatives, analysing the results and comparing the results to the literature. As a result, essential methods to survive during crises and increase the resilience of supply chains were discovered. The results can be utilised in preparing for future crises.

When starting a business, one of the major decisions that need to be made is how such business will be financed.Entrepreneur can consider different possibilities, the most commonly used sources of financing include own resources of entrepreneur(s) and combination of own resource and borrowed resources.Due to legal requirements, in Croatia it is theoretically impossible to start a company without own resources, although it is possible to start a company with symbolical amount of own resources. For a new company it could be hard to lend money from financial institutions due to the lack of business experience and asset, which could serve as collateral.Considering different available ways of financing new business, the aim of this paper is to analyse how new established Croatian smes are financed. The conducted research has shown that new entrepreneurs are using more borrowed resources to finance their asset compared to own resources.

The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) was launched in 2011 to contribute to the establishment and functioning of the EU’s internal energy market. This study aims to evaluate ACER’s success in establishing and ensuring the functioning of the internal energy market, both from ACER’s and its stakeholders’ (energy regulators and energy traders in the EU member states) perspective. The paper includes the results of interviews with nine national regulatory authorities (NRAS) and ten energy traders from the EU member states. This research revealed that, based on their perception, ACER is actually crucial for the operation of the internal market. In addition, NRAS and energy traders mostly agree that the EU has a nearly functional internal energy market and that ACER is vitally important for the functioning of the internal market.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the importance and the role of culture in sustainable development. The study is based on a qualitative research on the quota sample of three referential groups of experts by using interview as a method of data collection. The findings of the study confirm that culture, as a holistic and complex system of values and creative potentials, stimulates social cohesion in society, strengthens intercultural dialogue as well as provides for economic effects, all of which is in turn reflected in sustainable development. We suggest the establishment of a fourth pillar, aside the economic, social and environmental, to be incarnated by culture.

Chrematistics (gr. hrematistike) is not only a new (actually very old, but newly re-discovered) ‘word’ but simultaneously a completely new ‘perspective’ in the sense of different thinking and understanding. Moreover, chrematistics is a new paradigm of thinking and, simultaneously, a new methodology of argumentation. In short, it is the paradigm of countereconomical thinking/arguing being based in a precise distinction between economics (gr. oikonomike) and hrematistike, which was made by Aristotle in his first book of Politics. The aim of this paper is twofold. Firstly, the problem – and the aim – is to (re)open the historically present and simultaneously ‘lost’ (hidden) distinction between these two crucial categories of our times. Consequently, the aim is to develop a possible understanding of the distinction. Secondly, in this paper, I have also attempted to emphasize some of the usages of the already existing distinction at the level of the theories of philosophy and economy and the possible critiques of latter. The final but by no means lesser emphasis – and its main hypothesis- of the paper is aiming at the problem of our time in the sense that our current problems and crises are not at all possible seriously to grasp in economic, but primarily in the chrematistic categories and the possibilities of that new paradigm of thinking.

The aim of the paper is to summarise the literature focused on Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing in Poland and to contribute to understanding of motivations and environmental factors driving service relocations to Central and Eastern Europe. This exploratory study is based on academic literature and two data sources: government and industry reports, as well as small-scale exploratory survey. The findings confirm the cost reduction to be the main driver, followed by the willingness to improve processes and business performance. The substantial advantage of Poland is human resources -the availability of highly skilled, well-educated workforce at relatively low cost. Even though the salaries are often higher than in Asia, it is compensated by the number of graduates and knowledge of foreign languages. Membership of the European Union and political stability also plays an important role. This exploratory study, aside of relocation trends overview, enabled the views among service providers to be captured and compared with the commercial and governmental reports.

The main goal of this paper is oriented on examining the potential link between economic growth and health expenditure in the South-Eastern European Health Network (SEEHN) countries over the period 1995–2014 by applying panel econometrics. The panel co-integration testing approach and panel VECM are used to investigate the long- and short-run causality between the economic growth, health expenditure and life expectancy (trivariate model). The empirical results show that there is a long-run relationship between the observed variables. It was confirmed that health is a luxury good in the long term, while it is a necessity product in the short term. Finally, it should be noted that economic policy in these countries should be directed to the targeted increase in expenditure on health care, in order to increase overall economic activity. Also, the economic policy should be oriented to adequate combination of public and private financing in health care.

Experts opined that education affects the society both at the micro and macro levels. However, the place of education has not been given its right place in Nigeria as reflected in the nation’s budgetary allocations. Hence, this study examined the impact of different levels of education on different components of growth in Nigeria. Data were sourced from the CBN Statistical Bulletin (see http://www.cbn.gov.ng/documents/statbulletin.asp), the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (see http://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng) and The World Bank (see http://www.worldbank.org) from 1970–2015. The Fully Modified ols estimator was used and the results revealed that different levels of education impact at varying magnitude on each of the components of growth positively in Nigeria but the magnitude of the impact is much higher from completion rate. By implication completion rate explains growth at a higher magnitude than enrolment rates in Nigeria, therefore government should endeavour to provide modalities to curtail school dropout rate in the schooling system as a measure to boost completion rates that will facilitate growth.
