Rhodococcus ruber IEGM 442 was isolated from snow at an oilfield. It shows a pronounced diesel fuel-degrading activity. We report a draft genome sequence of this strain obtained using the Illumina technology. It can be used to reveal genetic mechanisms of diesel fuel biodegradation by Rhodococcus bacteria.

Geobacillus stearothermophilus strain CS7089 was isolated as a thermophilic contaminant from commercial agar used to produce microbiological growth media. We present the 3,555,170 bp genome of this organism and report on its basic characteristics, as well as its isolation from molten LB agar medium.

We determined the complete genome sequence of Pseudomonas sp. PAMC25886 from alpine glacier cryoconite. The genome comprises a single circular chromosome of 7,035,536 bp with 61.2% G + C content and 6,409 protein-coding genes. This genome provides insight into aromatic compound degradation and cold adaptation in polar environments.

We report the complete genome sequence of Mycobacterium sp. strain Panama NTM2, isolated from a sputum sample of a patient with pulmonary tuberculosis in Panama. The 5,922,402-bp genome (68% GC) was assembled into five contigs containing 5,703 protein-coding genes. FastANI identified Mycobacterium kyogaense NCTC 11659 as the closest relative (88.13% ANI), suggesting Panama NTM2 represents a novel species within the genus.

We report the draft genome sequence of Lentzea sp. H45, an extremotolerant actinobacterium from high-altitude Atacama Desert soil, producing anti-HIV-1 integrase lentzeosides. The genome comprises 8.7 Mbp with 70.9% GC content and harbors 34 biosynthetic gene clusters, including a putative oligosaccharide cluster for lentzeoside biosynthesis.

Here, we present the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. MNU76 isolated from river sediment. The genome comprises 37 contigs, 10.5 Mb in size, and 71% GC content. The species harbors multiple predicted biosynthetic gene clusters, including several polyketide synthase pathways; the natural products they encode remain uncharacterized.

We report the draft genome sequence of Aeromonas enteropelogenes A5, isolated from a diseased shrimp (Penaeus monodon) in Bangladesh. The 4,571,270 bp genome contains 4,125 predicted coding sequences with 59.6% GC content and multiple putative virulence-associated genes. The genome provides insights into the pathogenic potential of A. enteropelogenes in shrimp aquaculture.

The complete genome sequence of the Edwardsiella tarda strain MYK24826, isolated from a Japanese patient with prosthetic valve endocarditis, was determined. The genome consisted of a 3,647,674 bp circular chromosome and a 2,866 bp plasmid. The genotype of MYK24826 was identified as sequence type ST28 through multilocus sequence typing.

We report the complete mitochondrial genome of the insect Anelytra (Anelytra) eunigrifrons Ingrisch, 1998, based on a specimen from Menglai, Xima, Yunnan, China. The 15,492 bp AT-rich (66.6%) mitochondrial genome contains 13 protein-coding, 22 tRNA, and 2 rRNA genes, showing the same gene content as Anelytra (Anelytra) obtusa.

Prokaryotic community composition was determined through V4 16S rRNA gene sequencing during early summer stratification in Lake Ontario. Despite a distinct thermocline, bacterial communities were stable, although differences were observed in chloroplast reads attributed to eukaryotic phototrophs. Chloroplast reads contributed up to 33.0% (station 63 epilimnion) of total reads.
