Despite have death in combat, José Martí's main objective was to build a future of peace for Cuba and for Latin America, marked by freedom, justice, respect and dignity, in harmony with the «high sphere». More than the military results, he was interested in transmitting his political and social conceptions through education and culture. His poetic work reflects this point of view about the human, nature and universe. In this article we analyze how Martí sees America, the fight against tyrannies and the role of men and women in the formation of a more balanced society in the immediate and long term.

The Jazmín de Necrópolis (Jasmine of Necropolis) is a futuristic story. It is temporarily located at the end of the first century of the third millennium. This article shows a didactic strategy for the unit of the course of History of Culture at the Escuela de Estudios Generales in the Universidad de Costa Rica. This strategy corresponds to one of the units whose objective is to characterize the slavery at the Colonial Atlantic World. The purpose of this unit is to appreciate the implications of slavery in those human beings. First, this article shows the difficulty of understanding the mentality of the social subjects from the past because it seems an anachronism. Second, this strategy, inspired in methodology of inter-learning, is explained. Finally, this article exposes the evaluation of the different components of the strategy made by the students of the course. Although it is difficult for the students to stand in the shoes of the slavery people, the strategy help not only to acquire the knowledge in a dynamic way, but also to develop sensibility with the situation. The most relevant conclusions are the ludic character of the strategy and its relevance in the teaching-learning process.

El siglo XX se inicia con una serie de transformaciones, que en última instancia, servirán como vasos comunicantes en la producción nerudiana. Cambios que se originan en su mayoría en Europa, concretamente los signos de modernidad propuestos por las vanguardias artísticas.

El proposito del siguiente trabajo sera conocer como desde la fundacion de Roma hasta el imperio, la conjuncion de elementos mitico-legendarios y religiosos permite interpretar, en las paginas de la literatura latina, la tension hacia el ascenso de la urbs y de sus lideres. Con el analisis de algunos autores se pretendera revisar los recursos retoricos y linguisticos validos para testimoniar el afan ideologico y el amor patrio en el proceso de exaltacion de Roma.
