Monochromatic Cr Kα radiation (5414.8 eV) was used to acquire high-energy photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) data on pure Mo and bulk MoSe2 compound with special attention paid to binding energy scale correction and quantification. The reported spectra include a survey scan and high-resolution Mo 2s, Mo 2p1/2, Mo 2p3/2, Mo 3d, Mo 3p1/2, Mo 3p3/2, Mo 3s, Mo 4s, Mo4p, Se2s, Se 2p1/2, Se 2p3/2, Se 3s, Se 3p1/2, Se 3p3/2, and Se 3d core-levels. The data will be useful as reference core-level spectra for HAXPES studies on molybdenum and its compounds.

Copper metal was analyzed by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) using a K-Alpha instrument from Thermo Scientific that employed an Al K-alpha x-ray source (1486.6 eV). The sample was the copper standard on the instrument sample stage that was sputtered with Ar+ to remove its oxide layer and hydrocarbon contamination. Shown in this work are the survey spectrum and high-resolution Cu 2p, Cu L3M45M45, Cu 3s, Cu 3p, O 1s, C 1s, and Ar 2p narrow scans. Narrow and survey scans were collected at 60 and 200 eV pass energy, respectively.

Zinc oxide powder was characterized by hard x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) with an Ag Lα (2984.2 eV) excitation source. The sample was fixed to a stainless-steel sample holder with a copper double-sided adhesive tape. Survey spectrum, C 1s, O 1s, Zn 2p, and Zn LMM core levels’ spectra were acquired.

A bismuth foil was analyzed using high-resolution high energy x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES). The HAXPES spectra of bismuth obtained using monochromatic Cr Kα radiation at 5414.8 eV include survey scan and high-resolution spectra of Bi 2p3/2, Bi 3d5/2, Bi 4s, Bi 4p3/2, Bi 4d5/2, and Bi 4f.

Bulk boron was analyzed using both XPS and high-resolution high energy x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The spectra of boron obtained using monochromatic Al Kα radiation include survey scan and high-resolution spectra of B 1s, O 1s, N 1s, C 1s, and Ar 2p. The Cr Kα spectra with radiation at 5414.8 eV include survey scan and high-resolution spectra of B 1s, O 1s, N 1s, C 1s, Ar 2p, and Ar 1s.

Iron was analyzed using high-resolution high-energy x-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy (HAXPES). The HAXPES spectra of iron obtained using monochromatic Cr Kα radiation at 5414.8 eV include survey scan and high-resolution spectra of Fe 2s, Fe 2p, Fe 3s, and Fe 3p.

Monochromatic Cr Kα radiation (5414.8 eV) has been used to acquire XPS and Auger data on silicon, silicon dioxide, silicon nitride, silicon carbide, and poly(dimethyl siloxane) samples. Survey data, high-resolution scans of all observed photoelectron peaks, and high-resolution scans of Auger lines are presented herein.

Dipyrone tablet was characterized by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Sample was fixed to a stainless-steel sample holder with copper double-sided adhesive tape. Survey spectra, C 1s, O 1s, N 1s, S 2p, and Na 1s core levels spectra were acquired. The results showed the presence of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur, elements that constitute the Dipyrone/Metamizole molecule; however, carbon and oxygen are also found in the excipients (other ingredients). In addition, sodium was detected, which is associated with excipients.

Several pure bulk materials were analyzed using laboratory-based hard x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The spectra are surveys measured using monochromatic Cr Kα radiation at 5414.8 eV after removal of surface contamination or oxidation. These aim to be references for inelastic background analysis using the Tougaard method.

Loratadine tablet was characterized by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The sample was fixed to a stainless-steel sample holder with copper double-sided adhesive tape. Survey spectra, C 1s, O 1s, N 1s, Cl 2p, and Na 1s core levels spectra were acquired. Results showed the presence of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and chlorine, elements that constitute the loratadine molecule; however, carbon and oxygen are also found in the excipients (other ingredients). In addition, sodium was detected, which is associated with excipients.
