This paper addresses the issue of transferring L2 prosody teaching to online settings due to the lockdown. The reasons are provided to account for the vulnerable status of pronunciation teaching and related risks. We report the results of the research project carried out in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with forty Russianspeaking engineering students. In this study a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods was used. The study first provided a critique of preexisting computer-based pronunciation training (CAPT) options ensuring learning continuity. These options were then analyzed against global educational policies related to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on this understanding, a methodological framework was designed to bridge the gap between prosody teaching goals and digital tools. At the next stage, experimental teaching was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of this framework. Once data from the interviews, rating scales and participant observation were collected, a descriptive analysis of the results was given. The findings showed that the suggested training had an important effect on L2 prosody acquisition by engineering students

This paper is part of research focusing on society-wide language problems of the Roma community in the context of language ideologies of the Roma in the Slovak Republic. The purpose of the paper is to identify current language problems from the perspective of the Roma community and to open space for discussion in the process of managing their language problems. In the study, Anglicisms are presented by a brief analysis of their adaptation to the Czech and Slovak orthographic, phonological and morphological systems as well as their semantic peculiarities. The individual areas of interest in Anglicisms, including their linguistic background and basic information on taking over new lexical items are also reflected in the paper. The trend to adopt Anglicisms has been continuing up to the present day and concerns all areas of social life, mainly because English serves as a global lingua franca.

To define the area of word formation, it is necessary to take into account that lexicon is included in morphology. Lexicon is the vocabulary of a language, region, activity, or branch of knowledge. While morphology deals with the internal structure of the word, etymology studies the origin, evolution and growing process of the lexical fund of a language. This process of lexical enrichment may be the result of internal and external causes or motivation. External motivation refers to foreign words being borrowed or taken over by a linguistic system that does not have a word to designate that specific concept. Spanish takes over such expressions in two different ways, sometimes keeping their original structure and some others assimilating it.

The current importance of the topic under study stems from the role of international treaties that establish security and protection of human rights. Moreover, within the UNO agenda 2030 for sustainable development, child rights are central. Thus, the task of quality translation comes to the forefront in multilingual communication that is often affected by language interference. The linguistic relevance of the research is supported by the fact that the works looking at interference of foreign language into native language in translation of legal domain are practically nonexistent.Due to the above, the paper aims at investigating this phenomenon in legal discourse on child rights. The leading approach to the study rests on the qualitative methodology and combines theoretical and empirical investigation. The latter integrates contextual analysis, comparative and contrastive methods allowing to identify the channels and nature of language transfer.A statistical method of analysis contributes to the quantitative assessment of interference. The research materials include the English and Russian versions of the Council of Europe Convention on Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse. The choice is determined by the fact that it is one of the major documents on child rights protection that has not been subject to language or translation analysis so far.The research findings describe channels and types of errors provoked by interference in multilingual communication on child rights. The results provide instruments to predict and avoid such errors in the course of drafting multilingual legislation and its interpretation within domestic language legal culture.
