Medical oncology is a young specialty in Romania, where early-career oncologists face challenges related to training, mentorship, and research. This study explored their professional status and needs to inform workforce development. An online survey was conducted between February and April 2025 among physicians under 40 years of age who were members of the Romanian National Society of Medical Oncology (SNOMR). The questionnaire (60 items) covered demographics, employment, mentorship, research, and professional development. Descriptive analysis was performed. Of 456 eligible members, 169 responded (response rate: 37%). Most were residents based in oncology institutes or university hospitals. Job insecurity was common, with 57% on temporary contracts. Nearly all respondents (99%) had clinical duties, but only 21% engaged in research and 9% in teaching. Mentorship was inconsistently available (61% had a mentor), yet interest in structured programs was very high (88% for national and 87% for international initiatives). Research involvement was limited: 46% reported no activity, 85% lacked funding, and only 28% published in the past year. While over 80% expressed interest in fellowships or exchanges, only 16% had trained abroad. Most (85%) were ESMO members, but only half considered SNOMR support sufficient. Young oncologists in Romania are motivated but face significant barriers, including job instability, insufficient mentorship, and limited research opportunities. Expanding structured mentorship, ensuring protected research time, and strengthening international mobility are essential. Recent SNOMR initiatives represent important first steps toward addressing these gaps.

In this article, we extend studies on the class of starlike functions, motivated by the definition of the multiplicative derivative. In this direction, we define a new class by combining characterizations of starlike functions and a recently studied subclass of analytic functions. Furthermore, we have defined a new family of analytic functions motivated by the so-called theta-starlike function. Here, we discussed in detail the problems and repercussions of employing a non-Newtonian derivative in studies of various subclasses of analytic functions. Fekete-Szegő inequality and bounds of initial coefficients are our main results. Although our main results have numerous applications, here we highlight the results associated with the conic regions as applications of the main results.

Wrestling is a physically and mentally demanding combat sport that requires discipline, focus, and emotional control. Although its physiological effects are well documented, its psychological benefits in adolescents remain underexplored. This study aimed to examine whether a short-term, non-competitive wrestling program could enhance psychological well-being, reduce sport anxiety, and strengthen resilience in adolescent boys. Thirty sedentary male adolescents (aged 12–15 years) were randomly assigned to a wrestling training group (n = 15) or a control group (n = 15). The intervention consisted of six weeks of supervised wrestling sessions performed three times per week. Psychological well-being (WHO-5), sport anxiety (SAS-2), and resilience (BPRS) were assessed before and after the intervention using the validated Turkish versions of the scales. Two-way repeated-measures ANOVA was used to analyze group × time interactions. Participants in the wrestling group demonstrated significant improvements in well-being (p < 0.001) and resilience (p < 0.001), alongside marked reductions in total sport anxiety and its subdimensions (p < 0.001), compared with the control group. All effects were large (ηp² = 0.52–0.94). A structured six-week wrestling program produced meaningful psychological benefits in adolescent boys. Regular participation in non-competitive wrestling may serve as an effective approach to promote well-being, emotional stability, and adaptive coping skills during early adolescence, supporting the preventive and developmental role of combat sports in youth mental health. Effects of wrestling training on psychological well-being, anxiety, and Resilience in Adolescent Boys. NCT07193121, Date: 12-09-2025.

The neurocognitive investigation of second language acquisition has been substantially advanced by electroencephalography (EEG), which provides millisecond-level temporal resolution for capturing the real-time neural dynamics underlying language processing. This methodological advantage has enabled researchers to examine how factors such as proficiency, age of acquisition, and cognitive abilities shape the bilingual brain. To map the intellectual structure and developmental trajectory of this interdisciplinary field, this study conducts a bibliometric analysis of EEG research on second language (L2) processing as a neurocognitive component of second language acquisition, published between 2010 and 2024. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database, yielding a final corpus of 153 publications, which were analyzed using the Bibliometrix R-package and its Biblioshiny interface, along with VOSviewer for network visualization. The results reveal a steady annual growth rate of 4.29% and identify three major phases of research development: foundational ERP investigations, theoretical expansion, and methodological sophistication incorporating oscillatory dynamics and network-based approaches. Core thematic clusters include neurocognitive foundations, linguistic mechanisms, and cognitive processing, with strong emphasis on methodological and demographic factors. Leading institutional contributors include Radboud University, University of Zurich, and Favaloro University, while high-impact journals such as the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychologia dominate the field. International collaboration spans four major global clusters, with the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany serving as primary knowledge brokers. The study concludes by identifying emerging frontiers, such as neural oscillations, connectivity analyses, and cross-linguistic neurocognitive comparisons, and offers strategic insights for researchers, institutions, and funding agencies to advance the neurocognitive understanding of second language acquisition.

The acceptance of, perceived advantages to, and skepticism toward the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in undergraduate education is investigated in this paper. In this study, a total of 675 students from six Romanian universities answered a self-administered online questionnaire evaluating three main aspects: AI acceptance, AI benefits, and AI skepticism. While AI skepticism has a modest but substantial negative influence (β = −0.113, p = 0.001), results show that AI benefits favorably predict AI acceptance (β = 0.541, p = 0.001). Whereas AI skepticism negatively correlates with AI acceptance (r = −0.124, p = 0.001), correlational analysis reveals a high positive association between AI acceptance and AI benefits (r = 0.544, p = 0.001). Despite concerns about its limitations, the regression model suggests that students’ willingness to embrace AI in education is mostly driven by its perceived advantages. This explains 30.8% of the variance in AI acceptance (R2 = 0.308, F(2, 641) = 142.909, p < 0.001). These results highlight the importance of techniques that improve perceived benefits while addressing uncertainty since they offer insightful analysis of student attitudes regarding artificial intelligence integration in higher education. By guiding policy decisions and educational activities meant to maximize AI-driven learning environments, this study adds to the current conversation on artificial intelligence adoption in education.

The financial market correlation structure exhibits dynamic evolution with implications for systemic risk and diversification benefits; yet, conventional approaches using correlation magnitude monitoring may miss fundamental organizational changes. This study develops an integrated geometric–topological framework synthesizing Riemannian manifold geometry with discrete network topology to characterize market structure transformations, applying the methodology to Turkish financial markets spanning May 2015–May 2025. The analysis employs intrinsic dimensionality estimation, curvature tensor computation, and Forman–Ricci curvature calculation alongside correlation network topology measures across seventeen variables, including sectoral equity indices and macroeconomic indicators. The results document an extraordinary mid-2022 structural break featuring dimensional collapse from 2.4 to 0.43 dimensions, network density surge to 0.97, and Ricci curvature spike to 16.0, establishing a persistent hypersynchronized regime evident through 2024–2025 with density elevated by 44% and the Ricci curvature being amplified 258% above the baseline. A comparative crisis analysis reveals heterogeneous structural signatures distinguishing COVID-19 geometric vulnerability from currency crisis modular reorganization. Macro-financial linkages identify credit growth as primary structural driver, achieving r=0.504 correlation with geometric resilience. The findings demonstrate that markets undergo permanent structural transformations responding systematically to monetary–credit conditions, with implications for surveillance frameworks, stress testing design, and macroprudential policy.
