During the September 2024 Science Festival in Warsaw, three unique events were organized in collaboration between the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS, the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and the Marceli Nencki Foundation for the Advancement of Biological Sciences. These events focused on exploring interactions between biological sciences and visual arts. As part of this collaboration, an exhibition titled “Vibration” was presented at the Hermitage in the Royal Łazienki Park. Additionally, lectures and an exhibition titled “Can Molecular Biology Inspire Visual Artists” were held at the Nencki Institute PAS. A unique event, the “Bio-Workshop”, was organized for high school students at the Graphic Arts Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In addition to recounting and detailing these events, this article presents a broader context of the interplay between art and natural sciences. The benefits of creative interdisciplinary activities are discussed, highlighting the potential for mutual inspiration between these two fields, benefiting both artists and scientists.

Amateur drawings by Adam Kazimierz, Izabela née Fleming and Adam Jerzy Czartoryski played functions assigned to this type of work in the main centers of European amateurism – France and Great Britain. The invitation of J.P. Norblin to Poland, in 1774, as a teacher of drawing for the children of Adam Kazimierz and Izabela showed their belief in modern educational ideas, that were also present in the Cadet Corps program. Drawing, a useful skill, became an element of the education of a responsible citizen. Adam Jerzy Czartoryski learned to draw not only under the guidance of Norblin, but also during his educational tour in Paris. When he left for Great Britain in 1789, his father advised him to collect visual notes for later use in Poland. Another function of amateur work appeared in the drawings of Izabela Czartoryska, for whom they were sign of her status of an aristocrat related with the ruling families.

At the turn of the 20th century, almost a third of Croatian students studied at universities and technical colleges of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Croatian academic youth were in contact and cooperated with students of other, mostly Slavic nationalities. Their networking was usually motivated by the same ideological platform. The present paper aims to shed some light on the social connections of Croatian students studying in university centres like Vienna, Prague, and Graz, with their Slavic colleagues (Slovenian, Czech, Serb, Bulgarian, Polish, Ruthenian, and Slovak students) based on the data from the private sources and articles from contemporary student journals.

The teaching of IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies), particularly in the topic of map recognition, often still relies on traditional methods that are less effective in enhancing student learning outcomes. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) offers a more engaging and effective alternative by encouraging active student participation and deeper conceptual understanding through real-world problem-solving. This study aims to improve fourth-grade students' understanding of maps specifically, their knowledge of what maps are and how to read them by implementing the PBL model. The research was conducted using a classroom action research approach. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was 71.15, with only 34.61% (9 students) achieving a score of 75 or higher. After the first cycle, the average increased to 77.5, with 50% (13 students) meeting or exceeding the benchmark. In the second cycle, the average score rose significantly to 93.65, with 96.15% (25 students) scoring above 75. These findings indicate that the use of PBL, supported by map-based learning media and PowerPoint presentations, significantly improves student learning outcomes in the topic of map recognition.

This pioneering study evaluates the safety, efficacy, and Aesthetic outcomes of Ergonomix2 Motiva Ergonomic Implants in breast augmentation. It aims to assess their capability to offer more natural touch and dynamics, delineate the learning curve for surgical techniques, and examine their safety profile compared to Ergonomix1 implants. A prospective cohort study was conducted, comparing 31 patients who received Ergonomix2 implants with a control group of 51 patients with Ergonomix1 implants. Eligible patients were those seeking Aesthetic breast augmentation without prior surgeries or chronic illnesses. Detailed documentation of surgical techniques, implant characteristics, and patient demographics was performed. The study assessed surgical learning curve, implant positioning accuracy, and short-term and early complications. Aesthetic outcomes were evaluated using the BreastQ questionnaire and quantitative elastography. Patients with Ergonomix2 implants showed significant improvements in Aesthetic outcomes, including breast contour symmetry and natural feel. The learning curve demonstrated a decrease in surgical time and higher implant positioning accuracy. The safety profile was favorable, with a low complication rate and high patient satisfaction levels. Ergonomix2 implants exhibited enhanced softness and pliability, closely mimicking natural breast tissue, as confirmed by elastographic analyzes. Ergonomix2 implants represent a significant advancement in Aesthetic breast surgery, offering natural-feeling and dynamically adaptable outcomes. Despite the promising results, the need for specialized surgical techniques and further research on long-term safety and efficacy is emphasized. This study contributes foundational knowledge to the field of ergonomic breast implants and their application in modern plastic surgery. Дослідження присвячене комплексному мистецтвознавчому аналізу рефлексії орнітоморфних мотивів києворуського золотарства у творчості учасників ІІ Міжнародного молодіжного емальєрного пленеру. Окреслено інформацію про історичні передумови виникнення традицій застосування образів птахів в ювелірному мистецтві Київської Руси. Уточнено типологію форм і функціональне призначення виробів києворуського золотарства, які декорувалися зображеннями птахів і створювалися у техніці гарячої емалі. Розглянуто особливості застосування орнітоморфних мотивів в окремих ювелірних виробах Київської Руси. Уточнено техніко-технологічні процеси середньовічної емальєрної справи. Висвітлено творчість учасників ІІ Міжнародного молодіжного емальєрного пленеру. Визначено потребу відродження києворуських культурних і мистецьких традицій. На прикладі роботи, створеної в рамках вищезазначеної події наведено способи трансформації орнітоморфних мотивів Київської Руси у сучасному декоративно-прикладному мистецтві. Виконано порівняльний аналіз середньовічної практики застосування техніки гарячої емалі з прийомами роботи сучасних майстрів. Окреслено важливість створення молодіжних мистецьких заходів, що можуть суттєво впливати на розвиток і популяризацію мистецтва гарячої емалі. Уточнено техніко-технологічні особливості сучасної емальєрної справи. Виявлено необхідність подальшого дослідження художньо-образних особливостей золотарства Київської Руси, що сприятиме розвитку сучасного декоративно-прикладного мистецтва в Україні, популяризації творчих здобутків нашої держави у світі, відновленню техніки гарячого емалювання кольорових металів, підтримці та професійному зростанню творчої молоді.

ABSTRACT Purpose of the study: This article aimed to find out the legal facts in the case of transporting timber by the defendant (truck driver) (Judge Decision Study Number 284/Pid.B/LH/2021/PN RBI) and to understand the basics of the judge’s considerations in imposing a criminal sentence on the driver of the timber carrier belonging to the business actor. Methodology: Legal-normative, statutory, and conceptual approaches; types of data in the form of primary and secondary data. Results : First, the legal facts show that in the case of the defendant (truck driver) transporting timber, there was coercion by business actors on the defendant (truck driver), and even the process of arrest was carried out by the police, as stated in the Raba Bima District Court decision number 284/Pid.B/LH/2021/PN denotes illegal arrest and detention according to the applicable laws and regulations. Second, after careful consideration, the judge imposed a criminal sentence on the defendant (truck driver) because there was no error in personal on the defendant and the fulfillment of the elements of every person, intentional transport of timber as referred to in Law Number 18 of 2013 concerning prevention, eradication, and destruction of forests, and participation in committing criminal acts as referred to in Article 55, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. But in this case, the judge did not carefully examine, understand, and interpret the element of participation in committing a criminal act so the judge's decision was deemed wrong neither theoretically nor practically. Applications of this study: It is expected that this research will add insight and knowledge to the community if they experience a similar incident as the Raba Bima District Court Decision 284/Pid.B/LH/2021/PN RBI. Additionally, this research is also expected to provide theoretically and practically benefits for law enforcement and the development of science and special research on aspects of criminal law. Novelty/Originalty of this study: From this research, no one has conducted a study specifically related to the judge's decision to punish the driver, in which the driver was coerced by the owner to transport his timber. Keywords: Criminal act; Judge’s Decision; Timber Transportation ABSTRAK Tujuan: Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fakta hukum dalam perkara pengangkutan kayu oleh terdakwa (supir truk) dalam Kajian Putusan Hakim Nomor 284/Pid.B/LH/2021/PN RBI dan memahami dasar-dasarnya pertimbangan hakim dalam menjatuhkan pidana terhadap pengemudi pengangkut kayu milik pelaku usaha. Metodologi: Pendekatan hukum-normatif, perundang-undangan, dan konseptual dengan jenis data berupa data primer dan sekunder. Hasil : Pertama, fakta hukum menunjukkan bahwa dalam hal terdakwa (supir truk) mengangkut kayu, terjadi pemaksaan pelaku usaha terhadap terdakwa. Bahkan proses penangkapan dilakukan oleh pihak kepolisian, sebagaimana disebutkan dalam putusan Pengadilan Negeri Raba Bima nomor 284/Pid.B/LH/2021/PN merupakan penangkapan dan penahanan yang tidak sah menurut peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku. Kedua, setelah melalui pertimbangan yang matang, hakim menjatuhkan pidana kepada terdakwa (sopir truk) karena tidak ada kesalahan pribadi pada terdakwa dan terpenuhinya unsur setiap orang, pengangkutan kayu dengan sengaja sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 18 Tahun 2013 tentang pencegahan, pembasmian, dan perusakan hutan, serta ikut serta melakukan tindak pidana sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Pasal 55 ayat 1 KUHP. Namun dalam hal ini hakim kurang teliti dalam mengkaji, memahami, dan menafsirkan unsur ikut serta melakukan tindak pidana sehingga putusan hakim dianggap salah baik secara teoritis maupun praktis. Aplikasi penelitian ini: Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan masyarakat jika mengalami kejadian serupa seperti Putusan Pengadilan Negeri Raba Bima 284/Pid.B/LH/2021/PN RBI. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat secara teoritis dan praktis bagi penegakan hukum dan pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan serta penelitian khusus pada aspek hukum pidana. Kebaruan/Orisinalitas: Dari penelitian ini, belum ada yang melakukan penelitian secara khusus terkait dengan putusan hakim yang menghukum pengemudi, dimana pengemudi dipaksa oleh pemilik untuk mengangkut kayunya. Muzeum Krakowa, do niedawna Muzeum Historyczne Miasta Krakowa należy do największych polskich instytucji muzealnych, nie tylko w grupie muzeów municypalnych. Charakteryzuje się szczególnie rozbudowaną infrastrukturą i wielością stematyzowanych oddziałów oraz wielostronną działalnością. Omawiana monografia – autorstwa obecnego dyrektora – ukazuje długi i mozolny, acz systematyczny proces rozwoju tego muzeum w ponad stuletnim procesie historycznym. Recenzent, podkreślając ewidentne zalety książki i jej duży walor faktograficzny oraz prezentowanie przez jej autora wyważonych ocen, zauważa pewne mankamenty i usterki, a także formułujeszereg sądów natury ogólniejszej, wykraczającej poza samą materię sprawozdawczej recenzji. Ta obszerna publikacja do tego skłania i zachęca, co niewątpliwie stanowi jej dodatkowy walor.
