Design of Solar Tracking Solarux Fresnel CSP System and Manufacturing Small Scale Model of the System by 3D Printer
Within the scope of this project, the design and production of a small-scale model of the Concentrated Solar Power technology will be reviewed. Solar Tracking Solarux Fresnel CSP System is designed to increase the efficiency of the overall system and shorten the payback period of investment. Design and optimization of the system is done via Solidworks and it is manufactured via 3D printing technology, which enables fast and easy and low-cost production for parts with complex geometry. Parts of the system were analyzed for actual dimensions and 1:10 scale dimensions, and it was ensured to verify whether the designs met the desired mechanical and thermal properties. Small scale model of the system is manufactured by using PLA filament on a 3D printer, as it enables to low-cost and fast production.

Solar-Carport
A Solar Carport integrated with EV batteries was installed at Óbuda University.and stores solar energy and charges electric vehicle fully green concept, not just because of the solar panels EV charging, but it is giving a 2nd life to electric vehicle batteries that are produced in a huge amount automotive market and ready to be utilized for green energy storage. The system demonstrates how an average household can combine the second-life EV batteries solar system and charger. The system consists of Solar panels, Inverter, EV batteries, EV chargers and Battery Management Unit (BMS).remotely controlled element of the Solar Carport detail of the city-wide microgrid too.

The air conditioning system of a Data Center is a great challenge for mechanical engineers. At the same time, it is fundamental for computer safety, it is a great energy consumer. Considering that, the present work carried out an analysis in which a solar-powered absorption refrigeration cycle system is combined with a conventional electrical chiller system. The proposed system also introduces the use of PV panels to generate electricity to power the electric chiller. A decision algorithm was developed based on local solar parametric data and cooling demand. A case study was analyzed for a typical data center located in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Electrical specific installed power demands of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, and 8.0 kW/m² at half and total load were studied. Local solar irradiation and temperature indexes were based on the data obtained from ASHRAE [1]. The results show that, for a typical year, the absorption solar system performs better than the photovoltaic system in most cases (0.5, 1.0, 4.0, and 8.0 kW/m²), except when the baseline of the installation operates near the optimum point of the consumption curve of the chiller, which occurs at 2 kW/m². Finally, the study shows that air conditioning systems powered by solar energy are a great alternative to reduce the energy consumption and operational costs of a Data Center.

Abstract A new major in Green and Alternative Energy is offered to students seeking a Bachelor of Science degree in the Engineering Technology Department at Kent State University at Tuscarawas. The program provides students with general and specialized training in renewable energy – related fields such as fuel cells, solar and wind energy. New courses in Fuel Cells Technology, Advanced Fuel Cells Technology, Power Technology, and Energy Management Systems have been designed to integrate theory with practical applications. Hands-on experience is emphasized in project and laboratory sessions in which students practice the installation, operation, maintenance and servicing wind and solar systems, or learn to operate and characterize fuel cell performance. Along with renewable energy – specific courses, students are offered courses in Manufacturing Technology, Automated Manufacturing, Materials and Processes 2 or Engineering Technology Project in which they are exposed among others to manufacturing technologies of fuel cell materials, components, stacks and systems. Students in this major participate in related research projects such as the design and demonstration of robotic technology for an automated assembly of fuel cell stacks, the design and demonstration of a methanol reformer for production of hydrogen as fuel for fuel cells, fabrication of components for fuel cells using computer numerical control, investigation of manufacturing processes for the production of graphite bipolar plates for fuel cells, or design and fabrication of instrumentation for measuring fuel cell component properties. The research projects that students are involved in, enable them to acquire practical skills required in industry and align with the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier Fuel Cell Program commitment to accelerate the growth of fuel cell industry in Ohio, to investigate manufacturing processes and technologies, to adapt or modify existing components and systems that can reduce the cost of fuel cell systems, to address technical and commercialization barriers and demonstrate market readiness.
Read moreLower construction of solarux CSP greenhouse, provides extra incomes in addition to electricity generation with new designed CSP dish mirrors
Nowadays, new energy resources are required because of the growing energy demand, and main income source of sunny developing countries is home-grown agricultural products. Aim of this paper is to design and develop a CSP Greenhouse system that generates the electricity, produces agricultural products and dries agricultural products with the remaining energy from the electricity generation. New CSP dish mirror design consists of flat mirrors to concentrate the sun rays, which has the features of parabolic mirror system but much cheaper and also follows the sun in two axis. With the additional incomes provided by agricultural production and agricultural product drying, cost effectiveness of the system increases and the depreciation period of the investment shortens. It will be possible to grow agricultural products, dry agricultural products and generate electricity for 12 months in the greenhouse with this presented project. Solidworks 2016 program package has been used for the designing the parts of the greenhouse.

A small-scale hybrid power plant with CSP and biogas boiler was built at the University ENIT as a laboratory for research and education. The CSP system consists of parabolic trough collectors operating in direct steam generation (DSG) concept. An ORC turbine with a newly developed generator design generates up to 65 kW electrical from low temperature steam. Additionally, biomass anaerobic digestion and phase change storage are demonstrated. While the commissioning of the plant is scheduled for the end of August 2017, commissioning of the single components has already been successfully completed. Highlights and main results from installation and commissioning period are published within this paper.

When considering the Brazilian political context, it is interpreted that there are numerous controversies between the reality of the current scenario and the aspirations and idealizations of the population. In order to consider and heal this difficulty of communication and of the achievements provoked by these dissensions, there was the suggestion of a reform in the political system of the country. The debate over the need for political reform in Brazil is growing amidst divergent views on the effectiveness of the Brazilian representative system. Its political reform envisions profuse changes that parliamentarians regard as viable and interesting to the state. Among these possibilities for change, the key theme of this research is analyzed, which seeks to evaluate the positive and negative aspects of the re-election mechanism in Brazil.
