This study investigated the influence of dance literacy program on the physical fitness and motor skills development of Grade 11 students at Dr. Lorenzo P. Ziga Memorial High School, Pasacao District, Division of Camarines Sur on 2023–2024. Grounded in Motor Learning Theory (2011), the study examined how dance literacy can enhance students’ physical, social, and emotional development. The study also determined students’ levels of physical fitness and motor skills development within gross and fine motor domains. The study also analyzed the relationships between dance literacy and physical fitness and between dance literacy and motor skills development. It employed descriptive-correlational research design with 53 Grade 11 students who were selected through total enumeration. The data utilized survey questionnaires and semi-structured interviews and were treated through mean, Pearson correlation and coefficient of determination. The findings showed that the students reached excellent levels of physical fitness in cardiovascular and muscular endurance while muscular strength was rated only at a good level since there was limited resistance trainings. In general, the students exhibited excellent level of gross motor skills but their fine motor skills remained at a good level. The results also revealed that there is no significant relationship between dance literacy and physical fitness and between dance literacy and motor skills development. The study suggests to integrate resistance trainings to strengthen the abdominal and back muscles and model the technicalities of intricate movements of hands and fingers like creating small cursive or zigzag strokes.

The study aimed to determine the influence of challenges on gender-responsive pedagogy (GRP) practices at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture-Sipocot Campus during the school year 2024-2025. This employed a descriptive-correlational method. Statistical analyses included weighted mean, Pearson Product- Moment Correlation Coefficient, and Coefficient of Determination. The data show that teachers are generally in agreement on the issues they face, with an average weighted mean (AWM) of 3.02. Despite challenges, GRP practice was very high, with an average weighted mean (AWM) of 3.65, indicating "very highly practiced." A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the implementation of GRP in course syllabi and challenges in classroom setup (r = 0.383, p < 0.05) and teaching methodology (r = 0.347, p < 0.05). However, there was no substantial link between problems and GRP methods in classroom management or student performance evaluation. The analysis also found very minor connections between course syllabi and classroom arrangement (r2 = 0.15), teaching approach (r2 = 0.12), and gender-neutral language (r2 = 0.01). Similarly, there were weak associations found between classroom management and student performance (r2 values ranged from 0.00 to 0.11). These findings form the basis of a handbook aimed at addressing the stated difficulties.

The Philippines, a predominantly Catholic country, holds religious monumental architecture (RMA) as a vital part of its cultural and spiritual heritage. This notwithstanding, little academic focus has been given to the meanings conveyed through such structures. This study examines the Porta Mariae in Naga City using Greimassian semiotics, a framework built upon structuralist semiotics for decoding architectural communication. This neoclassical arch, built a little over a decade ago to commemorate 300 years of Bikolano devotion to Our Lady of Peñafrancia and inspired by Roman triumphal arches and Catholic holy doors, has become a prominent city landmark and integral to Catholic rituals in Naga. This paper interprets the structure as a symbolic communication system, uncovering layers of meaning conveyed to pilgrims, devotees, and visitors that extend beyond its visual and architectural appeal. The investigation ultimately reveals the Porta Mariae as a dynamically communicative artifact embodying profound religious, cultural, and historical meanings, serving as a living symbol of Bicolano faith, heritage, and enduring identity.

The use of digital cameras in river monitoring activities can increase our knowledge of water quality status, solving the cost and spatial and temporal data resolution limitations of the existing techniques. The challenge of image-based procedures using camera systems is the proper red, green, and blue (RGB) bands signal interpretation and processing. The actual water upwelling light that reaches the camera lens is the sum of various reflectance components of the suspended particles, the riverbed background and the water itself. One component could prevail over the others, depending on the variability of hydrological (water level, flow velocity, etc.) and environmental (suspended solids concentration, floating pollutants, etc.) characteristics of the river. The effect of water level and turbidity concentration on the riverbed component of the total water upwelling light can be substantial, especially for shallow water. As a result, the riverbed reflectance component, if neglected, can significantly affect the evaluation of the water reflectance, and hence, water turbidity. In our field campaign, a synthetic turbidity event was recreated by adding a natural clay tracer into the river, and we monitored it using a camera system. Two turbidimeters were installed within the river section to validate the results. Moreover, a submerged panel was fixed directly on the riverbed. This choice was prompted by the shallow water conditions during the experiment, where the riverbed reflectance significantly contributed to the total upwelling light captured by the camera, particularly under low turbidity levels. We defined a clear water condition in which the panel was fully visible, where turbidity level was considered equal to zero. As turbidity increased and the panel visibility decreased, we applied an image-based procedure to assess the actual river turbidity level. In addition, we applied a pixel-by-pixel mean of the camera frames every 2 minutes, for minimizing the signal distortions due to the effect of ripples, sun glare and shadows within the analyzed region of interest of the river surface. These methodological steps allowed us to properly decompose the image into different reflectance components, and to enhance long-term monitoring practices that are subject to a wide range of environmental and hydrological variability. This study focuses on implementing camera systems in real-world settings, supporting existing river monitoring techniques with early warning networks, and developing innovative solutions for water resource management. Keywords: camera system, river monitoring, turbidity, image processing, remote sensing, water quality

This study developed and validated an enhancement program for outcome-based education (OBE) competencies among nurse educators in Camarines Sur, Philippines, utilizing a multiphase design. The research addressed the critical need to align nursing education with contemporary healthcare demands and international standards. Phase 1 involved a comprehensive literature review to propose an initial program. Phase 2 employed a Modified Delphi method with 20 nursing education experts to achieve consensus on the program’s content and structure, using a binary agreement scale and calculating the Content Validity Index (CVI). Phase 3 focused on refining and formatting the program based on expert feedback and literature findings. Key findings from the Delphi method revealed strong expert agreement on the program’s relevance and feasibility, with a CVI above 0.80. The resulting enhancement program, developed through a rigorous iterative process, provides a structured framework for improving nurse educators’ instructional skills and ultimately enhancing student preparedness. This research contributes to bridging gaps in nursing education and healthcare quality by providing a validated, contextually relevant program for OBE competency development.

Traditional water quality monitoring in River Systems is both labor intensive and expensive. However, in order to better understand the different phenomena occurring in river systems, it is vital to have robust data available. Satellite observations have been successful in monitoring different environmental systems, but generally, current available spatial resolutions and cloud cover in inland waters limit the monitoring of rivers. Recent developments in the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) highlighted the potential to address this gap in environmental monitoring.

In this study, UAS and image processing techniques were utilized to gather an overview of the water quality variability, specific to turbidity level and pollutant transport, along the Sarno River, which is the most polluted river in Europe, and the river pollution has long been subject to disputes between many sectors. Preliminary findings highlighted the potential of image processing and allowed to identify the variability in river water quality along the main river by adopting a sampling protocol in several points of the Sarno River. While there were few observations of plastic in river banks, organic transport was mostly observed and interestingly, there is a water quality spatial mixing in the river mouth, which is difficult to observe using traditional in situ point measurements. This study only covers the initial phase of the river monitoring activities.

Keywords: UAS river monitoring, sediment transport, image processing, spectral indices, remote sensing, drones, water quality assessment

We present a radial polarizer prepared by growing a thickness-constrained spherulite from an oleoresin polymer. As an insert between crossed linear polarizers, the fabricated device is used to alter the intensity profile of an incident zero-order Bessel beam. Radially polarized output beams have an intensity profile with a pronounced singularity at the center. Beams may be rotated by a simple reorientation of the crossed polarizers. Experimental results with our radial polarizer correspond to a transformation of the Bessel beam order from l=0 to l=2.
