Almost 6% of new mothers will experience postpartum depression (PPD) during the 12-month postpartum period. PPD is often undiagnosed, underdiagnosed, and untreated, increasing the risk for maternal mortality, which is highest in the second half of the postpartum period. This quality improvement project started with educating a pediatric clinic team about a PPD Screening and Referral Pathway and then applying it to their practice when seeing new mothers and their infants during the first 12 months postpartum. The PPD Pathway has instructions for the clinic team to give mothers the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), complete the Receptionist Tracking Form, evaluate the EPDS, refer mothers who screen positive for PPD to behavioral health services, scan the EPDS into the mother's medical record, and complete the Referral Tracking Form. The clinic team screened 112 mothers in 15 weeks from July to October 2024. Overall EPDS scores indicated possible distress (n = 112, m = 5.79±5.83). Over 15 weeks, 25% (n = 28) of mothers screened positive and received a referral to behavioral health services. The average infant age at the time of positive screen was 18 weeks (m = 4.2±3.49). Positive screens were steady during the first 9 months of the postpartum year with 22.4% at 0-3 months, 21.2% at 3.5-6 months, and 25% at 6.5-9 months. However, positive screens peaked with 80% at 9.5 to 12 months. Results from the Normalization Measure Development (NoMAD) questionnaire indicate that the clinic team wants to continue the PPD Pathway, which became a clinic quality measure. Pediatric nurse practitioners and physicians can fill a gap in maternal care by screening for PPD, which can begin or intensify after the final postpartum obstetric visit. A standardized PPD Pathway is effective, feasible, and sustainable within the pediatric clinic setting.

Abstract The metaverse, often envisioned as the next evolution of the internet, is a concept for a persistent, shared, and immersive 3D virtual world, where people can interact, work, play, and socialize using avatars and digital technologies. Rapid expansion in these immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and blockchain poses complex governance challenges related to privacy, intellectual property, user rights, and jurisdiction. This chapter explores various nuances of metaverse governance through literature review and bibliometric analysis and provides insights into key trends, policy implications, and thematic clusters affecting metaverse governance and policy. The chapter categorizes governance challenges into four important layers, namely technical, economic, social, and legal. The study further highlights the diverse stakeholder dynamics that influence policymaking. Bibliometric techniques are used to showcase trends such as the ethical governance of artificial intelligence (AI), the alignment of virtual ecosystems with sustainability goals, and the implications of data sovereignty. Through keyword co-occurrence analysis, the study discovers important themes, including the pivotal role of AI, educational applications, network security, and technology adoption. This study and its outcome provide actionable insights for policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers on metaverse governance. It identifies gaps in existing frameworks and proposes strategies for adaptive, multi-stakeholder governance that ensures inclusivity, transparency, and resilience. The findings of this study signify the critical need for strong policies that balance between innovation and user protection, fostering a sustainable and equitable metaverse ecosystem.

645 Background: NENs are a heterogeneous group of malignancies with complex care needs. Patients and caregivers increasingly use social media to share experiences, exchange information, and seek support, yet large-scale systematic analyses of public NEN discourse remain lacking. Methods: We conducted a computational analysis of publicly available social media posts by patients and caregivers (April 2022–March 2025) using Talkwalker, an NLP-enabled listening platform. English-language posts from Bluesky, Instagram, YouTube, and X were analyzed via a two-stage pipeline: rule-based filters (Boolean operators, custom lexicons) identified candidate posts, followed by human-in-the-loop verification of self-identification. Texts were preprocessed (tokenization, normalization, noise reduction) and thematically classified. Effect sizes were quantified with standardized mean differences (SMDs), and between-group significance was tested. A p-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Of 8,961 available posts from 1,088 authors, 87% (n=7,793) were from patients and 13% (n=1,168) from caregivers. Major themes were treatment (23.6%), survivorship (15.2%), and diagnosis (14.4%) for patients, and treatment (24.3%), diagnosis (28.6%), and clinical trials (16%) for caregivers. Compared to caregivers, patients’ conversations focused significantly less on research/clinical trials (SMD -0.21, p<0.001) and diagnosis (-0.24, p<0.001) and more on symptoms (SMD=0.13, p<0.001), finances (0.12, p=0.004), insurance (0.25, p<0.001) and fear/anxiety (0.15, p<0.001). Among patients, females were less likely to focus on treatment -0.10, p<0.001) and insurance-related discussions (-0.06, p=0.03) and more likely to discuss financial issues (0.06, p=0.02) compared to males. Younger patients (18-44 years of age) were less likely to discuss research/clinical trials (-0.21, p<0.001) compared to older patients. U.S.-based patients were significantly less likely to discuss research/clinical trials (-0.22, p<0.001), travel (-0.07, p=0.02), policy (-0.14, p<0.001), end-of-life care (-0.286, p<0.001) and diagnosis (-0.07, p=0.03) , and more likely to discuss treatment (0.15, p<0.001) and insurance-related issues (0.16, p<0.001) compared to their counterparts overseas. Conclusions: We identified thematic priorities in public online discourse by patients with NENs and their caregivers, with unmet needs in financial, insurance, and psychosocial support. Geographic differences existed in focus on treatment, research, policy, among others. This work provides the first direct insight at scale from patients and care partners to inform patient-centered care and interventions in NENs.

BACKGROUNDBed bugs live in an ecologically and spatially restricted indoor habitat comprised of overlapping aggregation and host odors, and they traverse relatively short distances between blood‐hosts and aggregation sites. Although many studies demonstrated aggregation or host odor preference respectively, the modulation of bed bug preferences between these divergent odors is poorly understood. Given the recurrent transitions of bed bugs between replete and hungry states, we evaluated the effects of six odorscapes containing aggregation and host skin odors on bed bug preferences.RESULTSHunger state modulated odor preference for aggregation and foraging in all tested odorscapes. Aggregation odor attracted both fed and unfed bed bugs. Host skin odor attracted unfed bed bugs but repelled recently fed bed bugs and the addition of carbon dioxide to host odor enhanced the behavioral responses. These findings suggest that orientation to aggregation sites in fed bed bugs is driven by two distinct odor‐processing mechanisms for attractant and aversive odors. Unfed bed bugs discriminate between two attractive odors—aggregation and host odors—but host odor predominates over aggregation odor in driving their orientation behavior.CONCLUSIONUnderstanding the dynamic switching of odor preferences during the blood digestion cycle will guide the implementation of chemical lures in integrated pest management. Host odors alone and their co‐emission with aggregation pheromone repelled fed bed bugs from traps. Conversely, unfed bed bugs had a strong preference for host odor emitted either alone or with aggregation odor. Therefore, the independent use of either host or aggregation odor lures and their co‐emission from the same trap should be carefully considered. © 2025 The Author(s). We evaluate the capability of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to predict a velocity field as it relates to fluid flow around various arrangements of obstacles within a two-dimensional, rectangular channel. We base our network architecture on a gated residual U-Net template and train it on velocity fields generated from computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. We then assess the extent to which our model can accurately and efficiently predict steady flows in terms of velocity fields associated with inlet speeds and obstacle configurations not included in our training set. Real-world applications often require fluid-flow predictions in larger and more complex domains that contain more obstacles than used in model training. To address this problem, we propose a method that decomposes a domain into subdomains for which our model can individually and accurately predict the fluid flow, after which we apply smoothness and continuity constraints to reconstruct velocity fields across the whole of the original domain. This piecewise, semicontinuous approach is computationally more efficient than the alternative, which involves generation of CFD datasets required to retrain the model on larger and more spatially complex domains. We introduce a local orientational vector field entropy (LOVE) metric, which quantifies a decorrelation scale for velocity fields in geometric domains with one or more obstacles, and use it to devise a strategy for decomposing complex domains into weakly interacting subsets suitable for application of our modeling approach. We end with an assessment of error propagation across modeled domains of increasing size.

The purpose of this research is to determine whether there is an influence impact of the Scientific approach on learning motivation and learning outcomes of class VII students. This research was conducted at MTsN 1 Bener Meriah on class VII students in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research method used is experimental research with a Posttest-only Control Design design. Sampling was carried out using cluster sampling. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class VII-1 as the experimental class and class VII-5 as the control class. In the experimental class, learning with a scientific approach was given, while in the control class conventional learning was carried out. The research results were obtained by processing the data using the right-sided t test statistic. At a significance level of 5%, tcount = 2.70 and ttable = 1.67 were obtained. This shows that tcount> ttable. Meanwhile, for student learning motivation, it was analyzed based on student responses to the scientific approach. The score obtained was 3.35, which is classified as a very positive criterion. The results of this research indicate that there is a significant influence of the scientific approach on the motivation and learning outcomes of mathematics in class VII students of MTsN 1 Bener Meriah

This paper details the mechanical and mechatronic design of the Technology Readiness Level (TRL)-5 In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) Pilot Excavator (IPEx). IPEx is a robotic excavator designed for a technology demonstration of regolith mining in the lunar south pole region. The novel design uses pairs of counter-acting excavation tools called bucket drums, that dig at the same time in opposing directions to reduce the reaction force needed, thereby enabling mining with a small, low-mass, robotic system. IPEx builds on the prior work of the Regolith Advanced Surface Systems Operations Robot (RASSOR), which is the TRL-4 implementation of this concept. The TRL-5 IPEx subsystems that are discussed in this paper include: Regolith Delivery Subsystem (RDS), Mobility Subsystem (MS), Cameras and Dust Mitigation Subsystem (CDMS), and Thermal Control Subsystem (TCS). Each subsystem is described in detail with rationale for design selections. Dust tolerance is a key feature for IPEx, and this paper details a thermal control system with an actuated radiator cover and phase change material as well as camera modules with removable electrodynamic dust shields (EDS). Additional components such as actuators, wheels, and bucket drums are discussed in detail. Due to their complexity, the avionics and software subsystems will be discussed in a separate publication.
