O presente trabalho aborda a inserção da educação antirracista desde a educação infantil, sendo a escola um espaço de aprendizagem, interação, socialização e construção da identidade. Pensando na escola como formadora de futuros cidadãos, é essencial que, desde cedo, a compreendam que vivemos em um país rico de diversidade e que o respeito às diferenças é fundamental para a construção de uma sociedade mais justa e equitativa. O estudo tem como objetivo apresentar e analisar o Projeto Pérola Negra, desenvolvido em uma creche no município de Cáceres/MT com crianças de 1 a 3 anos, destacando a valorização da diversidade racial por meio de práticas pedagógicas lúdicas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, baseada em levantamento bibliográfico e na análise das atividades desenvolvidas no projeto. Os resultados evidenciam a importância de trabalhar as identidades étnico-raciais desde a primeira infância, embora ainda haja resistência e insegurança por parte de alguns educadores ao abordar a temática na educação infantil.

Superpotent topical corticosteroids (STS) are highly effective in bullous pemphigoid (BP), but prolonged use is associated with practical limitations and a risk of relapse. To evaluate whether combining short-term STS with methotrexate (MTX) could maintain efficacy, reduce relapses, and preserve safety compared with prolonged STS alone. In this multicentre, randomised, open-label, non-inferiority trial, adults with BP were assigned to receive either STS (clobetasol propionate) for one month plus low-dose MTX as maintenance (MTX + STS arm), or prolonged STS alone (STS arm). The primary endpoint was 9-month overall survival (OS), with a predefined non-inferiority margin of 15%. Secondary outcomes included relapse-free survival (RFS) and severe adverse events (SAE). Among 266 randomised patients (mean age 80.8 years), 9-month OS was 86.5% in the MTX + STS arm and 83.5% in the STS arm (p=0.498; hazard ratio [HR] 0.80, 95% CI 0.40-1.50). The lower limit of the 90% confidence interval for the difference in survival rates (-4.6%) remained within the predefined non-inferiority margin, meeting the primary endpoint. Among the 87.4% of patients who achieved disease control within 28 days, relapse occurred in 31 patients in the MTX + STS arm and 52 in the STS arm, corresponding to a 9-month RFS of 68.4% (95% CI 59.3-78.8) versus 47.4% (95% CI 37.7-59.5), respectively (p=0.042). SAE were more frequent in the MTX + STS arm than in the STS arm (mean number per patient per month 0.40 [95% CI 0.23-0.57] vs 0.19 [95% CI 0.01-0.36], p=0.005). The study was open-label, did not include a validated disease activity score and was conducted in a selected BP population managed under clinical trial conditions. Maintenance therapy with low-dose MTX is non-inferior to prolonged STS in terms of survival and is associated with a reduced risk of relapse, at the cost of increased toxicity.

Recently, several unexpected events of various types (geopolitical, economic, health-related, and weather-related) have had a significant global impact, affecting the lives of millions of people and businesses. Disruptions in supply chains highlight the importance of planning and managing them at various hierarchical levels of decision-making. This paper presents and analyzes supply chain networks (SCNs) for the distribution of soybean and corn in Europe and North Africa, considering the uncertainty of demand and costs along intermodal routes. Transportation and distribution costs for these commodities are minimized by considering the uncertainty of demand and transportation costs. Starting from a deterministic model to establish the SCN, uncertainty is then introduced through stochastic modeling, with the optimization goals redefined accordingly, more specifically in terms of expected cost (EC) and conditional value at risk (CVAR) constraints. The solutions of the bi-objective model, including equivalent average emissions CO2, highlight the strategic positions of the port of Itaqui on the supply side and of the port of Sines as distribution hubs (transshipment) in the design of the networks according to the different objectives. The advantageous position of the port of Sines is analyzed in detail, according to the strategic objective of designing a more efficient intermodal SCN for the distribution of soybean and corn.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a common mental health issue that negatively impacts maternal well-being and infant development. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated depression risk among postpartum women due to added stressors from the crisis. This study aimed to assess PPD prevalence during the pandemic and identify associated factors. The study was conducted at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from May 2023 to December 2023. This cross-sectional study selected 223 postpartum women via convenience sampling. Data collection utilized online surveys and phone interviews. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) gauged depression levels, analyzed using Stata 16.0. Descriptive statistics and logistic regression explored relationships between PPD and contributing factors. Among participants, 22.0% scored 9-11 on EPDS, indicating mild depression; 5.8% were high-risk (EPDS 12-13), and 8.5% had PPD (EPDS > 14). The study identified links between PPD and poor sleep, COVID-19 anxiety, and limited social support. PPD remains a critical concern during COVID-19, with factors like sleep quality, pandemic-related anxiety, and social support influencing depression risk. Early screening and psychological interventions are crucial to mitigate PPD's impact on maternal and infant health post-pandemic.

Socioeconomic deprivation has been consistently associated with worse COVID-19 outcomes, yet it remains unclear whether social gradients persist in populations receiving regular, highly structured, life-sustaining care. Dialysis patients provide a specific context to explore whether structural social determinants continue to shape epidemic vulnerability beyond healthcare access alone. To assess the association between socioeconomic deprivation and both COVID-19 infection and clinical severity among dialysis patients in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (PACA) region during the pre-vaccination period (2020). We conducted a retrospective cohort study using the REIN registry including adult dialysis patients living in PACA in 2020. Area-level deprivation was measured using the French Deprivation Index (FDep) at the IRIS level. We analysed factors associated with (i) COVID-19 infection and (ii) severe COVID-19 among infected patients using multivariable models accounting for individual characteristics, comorbidities, dialysis modality, and contextual variables. A sensitivity analysis was performed by epidemic wave to assess robustness. Higher socioeconomic deprivation was associated with increased risk of COVID-19 infection and with more severe clinical forms among infected patients, after adjustment for individual and contextual covariates. Associations were consistent across epidemic waves in sensitivity analyses, supporting the robustness of the findings. Social gradients in COVID-19 infection and severity persisted in a population benefiting from regular, continuous dialysis care, suggesting that structural social determinants (e.g. living conditions and deprivation-related vulnerabilities) play a critical role in epidemic risk. Beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, these findings provide lessons for epidemic preparedness and the management of socially vulnerable populations with chronic diseases, supporting the integration of deprivation indicators into routine care and epidemic preparedness strategies.

Graphitic carbonnitride (g-C3N4) exhibitsstrong adsorption and photocatalytic activity through reactive oxygenspecies generation, which also mediate plant stress responses. Thisstudy evaluated the effects of g-C3N4 on growthand secondary metabolites in basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) microgreens under water deficit. The nanomaterial was synthesizedby calcination and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transforminfrared (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanningelectron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), anddynamic light scattering-electrophoretic light scattering (DLS-ELS).Plants were grown under two hydration regimes (50 and 100% water replacement)and five g-C3N4 concentrations (0–250mg L–1). Foliar applications were performed at 7and 14 days after sowing, and plants were harvested at day 21. Under50% water replacement, g-C3N4 enhanced growth,increasing leaf area by 34% at 100 mg L–1, stemlength by 23 and 19% at 50 and 100 mg L–1, respectively,and root length by 17% at 250 mg L–1 compared tothe untreated control. Terpenoid profiles remained unchanged, whileflavonoid content increased by 49.98% and 42.87% at 100 and 200 mgL–1, respectively, under water stress. Overall,g-C3N4 acted as a modulator of physiologicalresponses, enhancing stress tolerance in basil microgreens.

Complications of operative hysteroscopy (OH) are rare and usually minor. However, in rare cases, certain complications such as gas embolism (GE) can be life-threatening. The objective of this study was to analyze the circumstances and outcomes of GE cases occurring during OH. This retrospective descriptive observational study included all cases of GE during OH reported between 2016 and 2023 in the experience feedback (REX) database of Gynerisq, an organization accredited in risk management in Gynecology and Obstetrics by the French National Authority for Health (HAS). Among 318 reported OH complications, 14 cases of GE were identified (4.4%). The procedures involved fibroid resection in 11 patients (78.6%) and endometrectomy in 3 patients (21.4%). Bipolar energy was used in all cases. Of the 14 GE cases, 5 had serious consequences, including cardiac arrest and intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Eight cases were considered probably avoidable by the reporting practitioners, particularly due to non-compliance with the recommendations of the French National College of Gynecologists and Obstetricians (CNGOF), such as unpurged tubing and failure to monitor intrauterine pressure. This analysis shows that all reported GEs occurred during procedures using bipolar energy and following fibroid or endometrial resection. However, a causal relationship between bipolar energy and GE cannot be established. Further studies are required to assess the role of bipolar energy and the conditions of its use in the occurrence of GE.

Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) modelling can be utilized in dermal drug development and to support regulatory assessments by integrating information related to the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), drug product, and skin physiology into a mechanistic simulation framework. The purpose of this study was to develop a mechanistic skin absorption model to predict the absorption of lidocaine and prilocaine following topical application of EMLA cream (lidocaine/prilocaine topical cream, 2.5%/2.5%) in virtual subjects. The multi-phase multi-layer mechanistic dermal absorption (MPML MechDermA™) model was used to simulate in vitro permeation of both APIs. Changes in formulation pH post application were studied experimentally, and these dynamic changes were captured in the model when simulating finite dose studies using ex vivo human skin. A dermal in vivo PBPK model for the EMLA cream (lidocaine/prilocaine topical cream, 2.5%/2.5%) was developed and validated. The model was able to consider the formulation and trial design differences of in vivo studies and adequately simulated the observed data. Further model validation was performed against a manufactured cream with microstructural characteristics that were different compared to the EMLA cream. Through virtual bioequivalence assessments, the in vivo model demonstrated that it may be used to predict the impact of differences in drug product quality attributes on the in vivo performance of a topically applied drug product and inform decisions related to product development.

O contingente de mulheres nas universidades está em ascensão, incluindo aquelas que se tornam mães durante os estudos. Este grupo apresenta particularidades que requerem políticas institucionais para favorecer seu acesso e permanência acadêmica. O objetivo deste estudo foi coletar e analisar dados, por meio de uma pesquisa quanti-qualitativa, visando a melhoraria da qualidade de vida acadêmica das estudantes-mães. Os resultados destacam a predominância dessas mães em cursos de Licenciaturas, principalmente no turno noturno, falta de rede de apoio, especialmente para o cuidado dos filhos e ausência de espaços físicos adequados. O apoio financeiro, como bolsas de estudo, demonstrou-se essencial para superar desafios econômicos. E a necessidade de formação para servidores evidenciou a importância de abordagens inclusivas.
