This study takes WuXpress Warehousing LLC, a cross-border e-commerce warehousing enterprise registered in Texas, USA, as the research object. Based on Customer Value Management (CVM) and data-driven decision-making theory, combined with the operational characteristics and practical experience of the cross-border e-commerce warehousing industry, a “Data-Driven Hierarchical Operation Model for Cross-Border E-Commerce Warehousing Clients” is constructed. The model integrates three-dimensional core customer data of “warehousing scale – operational efficiency – development potential” through MySQL technology, establishes objective and quantitative customer stratification standards, and classifies customers into three levels: high-value (Class A), ordinary-value (Class B), and potential-value (Class C). Corresponding differentiated service systems and stepped conversion paths are designed for each level. The research confirms that data-driven hierarchical operation effectively improves the retention rate of high-value customers and the overall ARPU value by accurately matching customer value with service resources. After WuXpress implemented the model, the ARPU value of high-value customers reached $25,000, 3.1 times that of ordinary customers, and the churn rate of high-value customers dropped from the industry average of 35% to less than 10%. Adopting a lightweight implementation path of MySQL + Excel, the model does not require heavy technical investment. It not only helps WuXpress build a differentiated competitive advantage amid the 10% stratification capability gap in the industry and avoid revenue losses caused by the high industry churn rate but also provides a feasible customer operation solution for small and medium-sized cross-border e-commerce warehousing enterprises in the USA, promoting the industry’s transformation from scale-oriented competition to value-oriented competition.

ABSTRACTThis article outlines the process of developing a collaborative multi‐sited oral history project on the history, traditions, and ongoing resilience of Black and Indigenous farm and garden practices in the Southeastern United States and Appalachia. The Heirloom Gardens Oral History Project is a collaboration between the Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance, the Spelman College Food Studies Program, and the Princeton Food Project. Our model used student oral historians that we trained in oral history methods and ethics. Our initial goal was to collect oral history interviews and develop an engaging open access multi‐media archive. The project documents seed saving and gardening stories from people who have helped preserve Black and Indigenous foodways, including elders and newer generations of gardeners and small‐scale farmers. The stories serve as an important record of heirloom practices with rich cultural traditions and knowledge. Collectively, the archive documents the movement of seeds, practices, and ideas across people and space. This article details our process of conceiving the project, building collaborations, and the results of 2 years of oral history collections in six different field sites. We believe this project can serve as a model for developing similar oral history projects.

Cybervictimization can occur within friendships, within dating, peer, or family relationships, between strangers, or it can be anonymously perpetrated. However, research examining cybervictimization across these various relationships and contexts-especially the cybervictimization that can occur within dating relationships during early adolescence-remains underdeveloped. The current study examined cybervictimization among a sample of early adolescents in middle school. We also examined if cybervictimization (across relationships and contexts) and traditional forms of victimization (i.e., peer and dating violence that happen offline) were associated with an increased risk for cybervictimization from a dating partner. Participants included 554 early adolescents (49% female) in the sixth and seventh grades at a public middle school in the Midwestern United States during the fall of 2019. Participants were racially diverse (33% African American or Black, 26% White, 15% Hispanic or Latinx, 19% multiracial) and half of the sample had started dating (n = 230). Approximately 59.2% of the sample experienced at least one form of cybervictimization in the past year. Adolescents experienced cybervictimization from friends (39.9%), someone at school (24.4%), a stranger (22.6%), a family member (25.6%), or another perpetrator (20.8%). About 72% of adolescents who started dating experienced at least one form of cybervictimization and about one in four experienced cybervictimization from a dating partner (22.6%). Experiencing offline dating violence and cybervictimization from friends was associated with cybervictimization from a dating partner. Implications are discussed, including the importance of focusing on cybervictimization and dating violence prevention among early adolescents.

The integration of chatbots in a university platform prototype for a metaverse has the potential to significantly enhance the user experience by providing instant, interactive, and personalized support. Chatbots can assist both students and faculty with a variety of tasks, including course navigation, assignment submissions, and answering frequently asked questions. By utilizing natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms, the chatbot is able to understand and respond to user inquiries with a high degree of accuracy. This integration has the added benefit of increasing the efficiency of information dissemination, reducing the workload of administrative staff. The use of a metaverse in the university platform creates an immersive and interactive virtual environment, making education more engaging and accessible. In this paper, we will highlight the representative applications for chatbot integration for metaverse on a university platform. To achieve this, we propose a three-layer metaverse architecture from a macro perspective, which includes a chatbot platform, a university platform, and a metaverse platform. We will illustrate our implemented metaverse prototype of a university campus and discuss the prototype design and insights for educational purposes. Overall, the integration of chatbots in a university platform prototype for a metaverse provides a promising avenue for enhancing the user experience and facilitating education in the digital age.

BackgroundUniversities are increasingly implementing programs to effectively respond to and manage sport-related concussions (SRCs). One such effort is to develop common data elements (CDEs) and standardize data collection methods. The objectives of this study were to describe CDEs currently collected by Big Ten and Ivy League universities for SRC studies, and to compare the data collected with the core CDEs recommended by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).MethodsWe conducted an anonymous cross-sectional online survey among medical staff at the 14 Big Ten and 8 Ivy League universities (one per university) between September and October 2015. The survey instrument, including 9 questions corresponding to the concussion data collected before, during, and after a concussion, was developed and pilot-tested before field use. We analyzed patterns of the concussion CDEs being collected, including when, what, and how the data were collected and stored, and compared them with the NINDS' recommended core CDEs.ResultsA total of 19 out of 22 universities were included, with 13 from Big Ten and 6 from Ivy-League universities. All 19 participating universities currently collected concussion data with athletes before, during, and after a concussion. Great similarities in data collection were observed at baseline and acutely post-concussion across participating universities. All 19 universities collected at least one of the ten recommended acute symptoms checklists, and 18 universities collected one of the four recommended core neuropsychological function cognitive measures. However, CDEs in the sub-acute and chronic timeframes were limited, with only 9 (47%) universities collecting post-concussion short to long term outcome data. While over 60% of universities collected and stored concussion data electronically, only 17% to 42% of data collected were readily available for research.ConclusionsSignificant inter-institutional similarities in acute concussion CDEs were found. Further efforts should focus on collecting sub-acute and chronic timeframe core CDEs and creating data access protocols to facilitate evidence-based concussion prevention and treatment for all collegiate athletes.

ABSTRACTConsortia distinguish themselves not only by their membership, but by the shared vision of those members to accomplish something greater than any could do alone. Now more than ever, the opportunity to develop significant collaborations exists in a networked environment. The emergence of supraregional efforts such as the HathiTrust Digital Library, the arXiv e-Print Archive, and the Google Book Project are successes in large-scale collaboration. Through descriptions of these services within the context of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC), in addition to discussions of the evolution of traditional services such as resource sharing, this article explores the changing consortial environment and discusses the continued value of library consortia that are able to adapt to the changing priorities of their members.

ABSTRACT U.S. academic libraries have substantial resources to commit to advance the research and teaching and learning agendas of their institutions. In the aggregate, academic libraries annually have $2,000,000,000 in purchasing power for materials. However, the disproportionate increases in the costs of scholarly information continue to erode the ability of libraries to meet the information needs of their users. If academic libraries consolidated their purchasing power and pooled their resources, the results for higher education could be transformational. Effectively, a universal digital academic library could be established to serve higher education.

In this paper, we present our experience implementing on the TeraGrid the "Science Gateway AAAA Model" we proposed in our 2005 paper. We describe how we have modified the model based on our experiences, the details of our implementation, an update on the open issues we identified in our paper, and our lessons learned.
