The universe played a trick on me this year, as I thought my term as the Dermatology Nurses' Association's (DNA) President was coming to an end. However, the incoming president-elect informed me that she was unable to fulfill her responsibilities. While my first instinct was to react with anger, as this was a completely unexpected continuation of my duties, I decided to move forward with the theme she had chosen for the 2025 convention, which is “One for All.” Luckily for me, my Board of Directors of the DNA as well as the Program Planning Committee (PPC) rallied around me and gave a true meaning to the convention theme. This swift coming together showed what the theme meant to us, which is that each individual should act for the benefit of the group and the group should act for the benefit of each individual. It means there are no biases, everyone will be treated equally, and no one will be left behind. That being noted, the PPC has secured forward-thinking keynote speaker, Marilyn Dollinger, the Immediate Past President for American Nurses Association-New York, whose work in advocacy, for both nurses and patients, has spanned many years and embraces the notion that we should all speak as one voice to improve the care for our patients as well as advocate for our own physical and mental well-being. The PPC has been working hard and diligently on engaging speakers who meet the educational needs of our members as well as promoting interest in dermatology-related fields. We think the speaker lineup is exciting, as are the workshops on aesthetics and lasers. We believe that these areas are becoming extremely relevant based on the direction our practices are heading. During the conference, we will once again address the current condition of the DNA and the steps the Board of Directors of the DNA has taken to move forward and remain relevant. We would like to ensure that we continually emphasize solidarity and support all of our members. The DNA will consistently work toward supporting its members just as the members should work toward supporting the group. The 2025 conference in Orlando, FL, is gearing up to be our best one yet, with no shortage of activities in the Orlando area. We are looking forward to welcoming you and possibly your families to the Doubletree by Hilton at Sea World during the DNA convention on March 5–8, 2025 (Figure 1). We invite you all to experience the activities the DNA has planned. Our First Timers Reception, to be held on the first night of the conference, is always well attended and entertaining. You may also look forward to networking with established members and getting a new perspective on what you can contribute to the organization, as well as giving the established members new and innovative feedback. There will also be opportunities to visit the Exhibit Hall where the most current therapies will be on display as well as the posters developed by other nurse members. To keep the DNA vibrant, we really do need everyone to be as involved as possible and for it to be an all-hands-on-deck effort. I look forward to seeing you all in Orlando next year!FIGURE 1.: DNA 2025 Convention logo.Nancy J. Smail, RN
