Personalized eXtended Reality experiences to enhance the rehabilitation process of stroke survivors: A scoping review
Advances in Encapsulating Marine Bioactive Compounds Using Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLCs) and Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLNs) for Health Applications.
As life expectancy rises and modern lifestyles improve, there is an increasing focus on health, disease prevention, and enhancing physical appearance. Consumers are more aware of the benefits of natural ingredients in healthcare products while also being mindful of sustainability challenges. Consequently, marine bioactive compounds have gained popularity as ingredients in cosmetics and food supplements due to their diverse beneficial properties. Nonetheless, the use of some of these compounds is restricted by their low stability and poor aqueous solubility, necessitating solutions to overcome these limitations. In this context, lipid nanoparticles, such as solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) and nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs), have been investigated for their potential to protect and improve the absorption of molecules through various routes, including oral and cutaneous. Numerous studies have shown that nanoencapsulating these compounds and incorporating them into cosmetics and food supplements can be effective. However, this application remains unregulated at the global level and is not currently addressed by existing legislation. Additional in vivo studies in both animals and humans are necessary to fully assess safety concerns.

Abstract Plants have developed a sophisticated regulatory network that coordinates gene expression in meristematic zones in response to environmental conditions. Here, we identified a protein in Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) that interacts with Armadillo BTB Arabidopsis protein 1 (ABAP1), a negative regulator of the cell cycle in plants. We characterized ABAP1 Interacting Protein (named AIP10) investigating its role in modulating plant development. T-DNA insertion lines with silenced expression ofAIP10were evaluated phenotypically (morphology, fresh and dry weight), via transcriptomics analyses (RNA-seq and RT-qPCR), physiologically (biochemically, Fluorcam and Li- COR), and metabolically (ATR-FTIR). We showed that AIP10 integrates cell division rates with transcriptional and primary metabolism reprogramming, through its protein interactions with ABAP1 and KIN10, a subunit of SnRK1 (Sucrose non-fermenting-1- related protein kinase 1). ABAP1 levels and activity were reduced in the absence of AIP10, licensing cell cycle progression for longer periods, which culminated in increased rates of cell division that boosted vegetative and reproductive growth.AIP10silencing triggered a major transcriptional reprogramming of plant primary metabolism, possibly through SnRK1 regulation.aip10mutants showed increased photosynthetic efficiency, as well as boosted carbon fixation, leading to increased biomass, seed productivity, and higher contents of proteins, lipids (triglycerides), and carbohydrates. Finally, we propose that the modulation ofAIP10expression is part of a mechanism that coordinates higher rates of cell division with better photosynthetic performance and carbon fixation to metabolically meet the plant energy demand, allowing the generation of plants with increased biomass and productivity.One-sentence summaryABAP1 INTERACTING PROTEIN10 connects the cell cycle and plant metabolism, with its silencing leading to increased cell division, carbon fixation, and metabolite levels in Arabidopsis.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationships between a number of SDG’s important aspects. This study looks at Islamic business risks, macroeconomics, disclosure related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and the effect of having female members on the board of directors on the value of the company. Theoretical framework: The theoretical basis is the literature on the relationship between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the business practices implemented by corporations. The study's findings indicate that while macroeconomics does not have an impact on female directors' financial performance, it does have an impact on firm value. Female directors and corporate valuation are unaffected by CSR Disclosure, although financial performance is. Sharia business risk has an impact on female directors and firm value but has no impact on firm value itself. Design/methodology/approach: Data was gathered quantitatively. Using the use of partial least squares structural equation modelling, we studied surveying information from 27 samples, and the research period was 5 years, so the total data was 135 data (27x5 years). Findings: According to the findings, the contribution to the SDG's are a. Reduction of Inequalities (SDG 10), b. Poverty Eradication (SDG 1) and Productive Employment (SDG 8), c. Energy Sustainability (SDG 7) and Environmental Protection (SDG 13), d. Quality Education (SDG 4), e. Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3), f. Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), g. Sustainable Water Environment and Clean Water (SDG 6), h. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16). The value of the company is impacted by female directors and financial performance. The effects of macroeconomics, CSR disclosure, and sharia business risks on firm value cannot be mitigated by female directors. Financial performance mediates the impact of CSR disclosure and sharia business risk on company value but not the impact of macroeconomics on firm value. Research, Practical & Social implications: This research aimed was to investigate the potential correlation between the adoption of business practices by corporations and the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Also, to investigate the connections between various important elements in a networked corporate environment. This study's primary target areas include macroeconomics, Islamic business risks, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure, and the effect of having female directors on the board of directors on corporate value. Originality/value: The study's worth lies in the additional insights it gives into the potential correlation between the adoption of business practices by corporations and the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Read moreSynthesis of the Interim Regional Scalability Plans

1. The interim regional scalability plans (RSP) are the next step on the roadmap to upscale freshwater ecosystem restoration after the optimisation strategies (MERLIN Deliverable 2.1). They offer visions for upscaling restoration across wider areas by 2050.
\n2. A template has been designed for collecting input using the manual "Scaling up - From vision to Large-Scale Change. A Management Framework for Practitioners" (Management Systems International 2016).
\n3. Seventeen case studies have prepared their interim RSPs answering questions related to the 'what, 'why', 'where', 'how', and 'who' of scaling up restoration initiatives.
\n4. Further dialogue between cases from each cluster will provide inspiration and feedback to work towards a final RSP at the end of the MERLIN project.
\n5. The upscaling in the RSPs has a time horizon towards 2050, and recommendations have been made to strengthen this visioning. This long-term visioning should be linked with stepwise implementation, for which the use of adaptive pathway thinking can be used as inspiration.
\n6. The term 'restoration' of freshwater ecosystems might put people on the wrong page in the light of changing climate and land use and the time horizon of the RSP. Improving freshwater ecosystems should take these shifting conditions into account to define realistic targets both for biodiversity and delivering ecosystem services.
\n7. The formation of multidisciplinary teams that cover the bio-physical, socio-economic and legal/financial aspects of the RSPs is beneficial for the overarching success of the plans. A well embedded monitoring strategy across all these disciplines is needed.
\n8. The interim RSPs have been prepared by each case study without interaction with the other case studies. The other interactions are with the financial expertise within MERLIN, the outcomes of the sector roundtables and with the case study board. These interactions will be the main actions to improve the RSPs.
\n9. RSPs are designed within the MERLIN project. The implementation of the RSP will be a process to start once the MERLIN project has ended in 2025. During MERLIN, it is essential to define the consortium to adopt and implement the RSP.
