Este estudio analiza la relación entre la estructura de propiedad, el origen del capital y la eficiencia técnica de los bancos argentinos entre 2010 y 2018, utilizando la técnica no paramétrica del Análisis Envolvente de Datos (DEA) bajo un enfoque de intermediación. Se comparan dos estrategias al definir insumos y productos: una variante del enfoque de intermediación y el enfoque de producción. Los resultados muestran que los bancos extranjeros en Argentina tienen ventajas competitivas sobre los locales, excepto en 2011. Además, no se encontró evidencia de que los bancos privados sean más competitivos y eficientes que los públicos. La eficiencia estimada varía según el rol asignado a los depósitos (insumo o producto).

A mortalidade hospitalar é uma ferramenta útil para melhoria dos processos e do serviço de emergência, apresenta grandes desafios na busca incessante por qualidade na assistência. Analisar a correlação entre o tempo de internação e o óbito hospitalar de pessoas idosas internadas em um serviço público de emergência clínica do Distrito Federal. Estudo retrospectivo e observacional do tipo transversal, com abordagem quantitativa, sendo realizado em um serviço público de emergência clínica do Distrito Federal. Houve predomínio do sexo feminino (53,7%), a faixa etária de 71 a 80 anos obteve o maior número de óbitos (34,4%), Gama-DF foi o local de prevalência (47,8%), o período noturno superou os demais (50,7%), o tempo de internação acima de 30 dias compreendeu a maioria dos registros (46,3%) e a correlação entre o tempo de internação e o óbito hospitalar resultou em 0.19. Os resultados deste estudo demonstraram a razão entre a mortalidade masculina e feminina, evidenciando uma superioridade em mulheres em detrimento dos homens. Não é possível afirmar que o tempo de internação favorece ou influencia na ocorrência de óbitos hospitalar.

The corrosion behavior of a ferritic unstabilized stainless steel 1.4016 during decomposition of aqueous urea solution at high temperature has been investigated. Corrosion was obtained from 100 h of cyclic heating (from room temperature up to 600 °C) and injection of aqueous urea solution on the steel plate in a laboratory-scale test bench. The evaluation procedure covered the metallographic analysis of corroded steel samples by high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Uniform corrosion underneath deposits was found as one of the drivers for degradation of the steel. Damage happened by high-temperature depassivation of stainless steel due to the excess of the aggressive medium. Besides uniform corrosion, a nitridation layer underneath surface oxides together with chromium carbonitride particles precipitated through the whole depth of the sample was identified resulting in intergranular attack.

True fracture strains obtained from the fracture surface area measurement of tensile test specimens allow for gauge-length independent characterization of the local formability. It is difficult and error prone to use the norm method (ASTM-E8) for fracture area measurement on modern advanced high strength steels (AHSS) owing to the irregular fracture surface and excessive necking, as this makes the accurate identification/measurement difficult and leads to high scattering. The presented work aims to solve this problem in local formability measurement and make the measurement process more robust. The results of the proposed approach, which involves specimen masking and image binarization show that through this method it is possible to improve the repeatability of the measurements, reduce the scattering due to operator influence and significantly reduce the time required for the measurements.

Short Fiber Reinforced Composite (SFRC) structures exhibit multiple microstructures (due to material flow during the process). They are generally subjected to variable amplitude loadings. In this context, a robust model is needed to predict fatigue life as a function of microstructure. In this paper, we propose a predictive micromechanical damage-based model allowing fatigue life prediction in the case of SFRC submitted to variable amplitude cyclic loading. An experimental study was firstly performed on Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) composite involving different microstructure configurations. Specimens were subjected to stress-controlled block loading. The influence of the order of the sequences was evaluated through Low-High amplitude (L-H) and High-Low amplitude (H-L) schemes. Damage accumulation is computed at the local scale to describe the evolution of the fiber-matrix interface damage until failure. A local failure criterion based on a critical damage state allowed predicting variable amplitude fatigue life as a function of microstructure. A good correlation was found between experimental and numerical results. Once the approach was validated, it has been used to model different useful variable amplitude loading schemes to emphasize the role of the loading sequence parameters and order.
