Significant mental health issues are already plaguing students at universities, and research on artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on students' mental health is progressing quickly as an important contributor to psychological well-being. Therefore, by employing bibliometric methods, this study aims to analyze the role of AI in university student mental health. Publications on AI and university student mental health were obtained from the Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed databases. VOS Viewer was used to analyse data on nations, authors, journals, and keywords, revealing collaboration patterns, research hotspots, and trends. Encompassing all papers up to February 2025, the investigation included 173 papers and produced several noteworthy findings: (1) a slow increase in yearly publications, which peaked in 2024; (2) the Frontiers in Psychology Journal appears as the most frequently publishing journal in this area, based on the current dataset, with major contributions from China, the Philippines, the United States, and their affiliated universities; (3) depression and anxiety were the main mental health issues, and machine learning and deep learning had the most applications; (4) a need for improved international and interdisciplinary cooperation. To enhance a more general comprehension of the possible application of AI in the student mental health, this paper offers an overview of the topic in the everyday life of the students in all its simplicity. Professionals are provided with further insights to assess benefits, risks and consequences of AI in this important domain.

Introducción: Las fracturas de pilón tibial representan un bajo porcentaje de fracturas de la extremidad inferior, por ende, se realiza la presentación de un caso clínico. Descripción del caso: Paciente ingresó por caída desde altura de 3 metros evidenciando deformidad en tobillo asociado a dolor a la palpación sin alteración de tejidos blandos ni déficit neurovascular. Imágenes radiológicas confirmaron fractura Rüedi & Allgower tipo II, posterior osteosíntesis por abordaje posteromedial con adecuada evolución y egreso. Discusión: Patología con relación 1.4 a 1 (hombre/mujer) con mayor incidencia en hombres de 35 a 45 años. Se indica uso de TC de tobillo para realizar su clasificación (ÿ =0,560; P <0,01). Optando por manejo conservador con fijación externa y/o ORIF con cuidados postoperatorios. Conclusión: Fractura que afecta a hombres de 35 a 45 años, requiriendo más estudios en el sexo femenino por persistencia de casos.

Skin autofluorescence is a useful index to estimate the accumulation of advanced glycation end-products in human tissues. Elderly persons with higher skin autofluorescence have lower muscle mass, muscle strength and muscle power, however, little is known about the relationship between the skin autofluorescence level and each muscle activity. We measured the values of skin autofluorescence from five places on a lower limb, and the signals of surface electromyogram during isometric contractions from five muscles on that, simultaneously. The waveforms of surface electromyogram were analyzed by Daubechies-4 wavelet transformation. The value of skin autofluorescence was increased in the proximal part of the lower limb compared with the value of the distal part. The principal component of surface electromyogram activity in a time-frequency domain was lower in the proximal part compared with that of the distal part. There was a weak negative correlation between the value of skin autofluorescence on the gluteal region and the value of the mean wavelet coefficient of the surface electromyogram signals within the gluteus maximus muscle. The higher accumulation of advanced glycation end-products on the gluteal region might suggest the lower muscle activity in aging without disease and disability.

ABSTRACT Do apprenticeships enhance product quality? Whether guilds and apprenticeships have promoted technological change has been debated, but the issue remains unsettled because of the lack of data which allows us to empirically assess technological change by apprenticeships in the comparison with technological change by non-apprenticeships. By scrutinizing apprenticeships in the sake brewing industry and utilizing the national sake quality competition results and the master brewer list, this study examines to what extent the craftsmen trained through an apprenticeship enhanced or reduced product quality. The empirical results indicate that the training in apprenticeships actually decreases the probability of winning quality competitions, which indicates that apprenticeships do not improve product quality. Thus, we discuss why apprenticeships was a dominant form of training and learning, even if they had little bona fide utility for product quality. We show that brewers originally utilized apprenticeship-type practices adopted for migrant labor to reduce production costs. This study also shows that the breweries began to create a positive imagery associated with apprenticeships and sake quality from the 1980s even though apprenticeships actually reduce the probability of brewing high-quality sake.

This study examined the characteristics of lower limb muscle activity in elderly persons after ergometric pedaling exercise for 1 month. To determine the effect of the exercise, surface electromyography (SEMG) of lower limb muscles was subjected to Daubechies-4 wavelet transformation, and mean wavelet coefficients were compared with the pre-exercise coefficients and the post-exercise coefficients in each wavelet level. The characteristics of muscle activity after pedaling exercise were also compared between the elderly subjects and young subjects. For the elderly subjects, the mean wavelet coefficients were significantly decreased in the tibialis anterior and the gastrocnemius medialis at wavelet levels of 3, 4, and 5 (125–62.5, 62.5–31.25, and 31.25–15.625 Hz, respectively), by pedaling exercise. However, the mean power of wavelet levels of 2 and 3 (250–125 and 125–62.5 Hz) within the rectus femoris and the biceps femoris were significantly increased in the young subjects. The effect of pedaling exercise is different from the effects of heavy-resistance training. It was suggested that the muscle coordination, motor unit (MU) firing frequency, and firing fiber type of lower limb muscles are changed with the different characteristics between elderly and young persons by pedaling exercise for 1 month.

The purpose of this study was to reveal the relationships between mHealth application and health behavior. The theoretical foundation drew on the Technology Acceptance Model as a core model. We extended our research model with dietary health behavior, relaxation health behavior, the subjective norm, and the ubiquity of mobile phones. A survey conducted in Japan using a professional research firm resulted in data from a sample of 696. We conducted structural equation modeling, and the results indicated that overall health behaviors are explained by the Technology Acceptance Model. In addition, the subjective norm and ubiquity of mobile phones demonstrated positive influences on overall health behaviors. In closing, theoretical and managerial implications are discussed, and limitations are identified.

The purpose of this investigation is to examine media displacement–reinforcement effects between traditional media, PC internet and mobile internet. The theoretical foundations draw on niche theory and enduring involvement, and adopt the satisfaction–attitude–loyalty chain as a core model. The surveys were conducted in Japan and resulted in 992 responses from a general consumer sample. Two scenarios (dining out and travel planning) were created to manipulate the level of enduring involvement. Our data fit the proposed model reasonably well, supporting 12 out of 14 hypotheses. The findings indicate that the more satisfied consumers are with traditional media and mobile internet, the more likely they are to perceive PC internet unfavourably as an alternative information source in both involvement situations. However, a favourable attitude towards mobile internet could act as a reinforcement motivator to use PC internet in high-involvement situations. Therefore, our findings support cross-media campaigns in high-involvement situations. In closing, significant limitations are recognised, and future research directions suggested.
