The bobcat (Lynx Rufus Schreber, 1777) is a mesopredator distributed from southern Canada to southern Mexico. Its presence is an indicator of good ecosystem quality. Although it is considered the most abundant felid in Mexico, there are very few studies that evaluate its population dynamics in arid zones. Therefore, the objective was to determine the population density and occupancy probability of bobcats in fragments of Tamaulipan thornscrub. Population abundance and density were estimated using camera traps and the MARK-CAPTURE tool. The vegetation composition of landscape corridors was evaluated to estimate their relationship with the bobcat population. An occupancy model was elaborated to analyze the presence of the species in the area, using environmental and anthropogenic impact covariates. The average density resulted in 8 individuals 100 km-2, derived from the identification of 23 bobcats and an effective sampling area of 140.31 km2. Sites 17 and 18 had the highest vegetation cover and the highest number of records, as well as a female with cubs and with different prey. The occupancy probability was positively associated with areas of higher vegetation cover. It is concluded that the density values presented are associated with the fragmentation of the vegetation community, and that the variables with the greatest influence on the presence of bobcats are vegetation cover and diversity.

The effort to dominate other countries has led to many wars. They developed various weapons and tried to destroy what they saw as enemies. However, weapons were not always enough in wars. It was necessary to know what kind of preparations the other party made, what their weapons and military power were. If these are known, you will know what to do and take measures accordingly, so you will have the chance to prevail in your moves. Obtaining such confidential information without permission would naturally be very difficult. The importance of women among spies cannot be denied either. Men's weakness towards them has given significant advantages in doing their job. These include Mata Hari, Krystina Skarberk, Marthe Richard, and Elizabeth Bentley. By the way, it would not be fair not to mention the name Emine Adalet, the very famous first Turkish woman spy. Turkish Mata Hari. The female spy of the Turkish National Intelligence, who provided Turkish Government invaluable information to stay out of World War II. We use the word JASUS for spy which comes from the Arabic verb JASSA ,)( which means researched, asked. Spies played an important role in winning wars. Semensa, which is our subject, is among those who spied on both sides. However, in the old times when the conditions were much more difficult, it is not seen that those who attempted this work were very willing. For example, the period of the spy Semensa we discussed in our article is XVth century. It was out of the question that someone whose ruler had commissioned him to be a spy would oppose it. Semensa was forced to spy by Uzun Hasan during the Otlukbeli war between Mehmed the Conqueror and Uzun Hasan, the ruler of Akkoyunlu. As for the name Semensa, in Persian it means similar to jasmine. Another meaning for Semensa is judicious, honest. He speaks Turkish and there is no information that he is Persian.

Background and aim of the work. The clinical internship is fundamental for the training of the future socio-health professional. Through the practical activity, the student develops professional skills, critical thinking and decision-making ability, internalizing the complexity of the professional role. While in the nursing field there are several tools for assessing the clinical experience of students, in the obstetric field there is a lack of validated tools. Therefore, the purpose of this work was to investigate the perception of the students of the Degree Course in Midwifery regarding the internship experience.Method.The study was conducted at the obstetric clinical internship where students carry out practical activities and involved all the students of the Degree Course in Midwifery at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The data were collected through an anonymous online questionnaire (Google Model), which was inspired by the nursing CLES + T, simplified and adapted to the obstetric field.Results.In total, 54 students took part in the research (81.8% of all students enrolled in the degree program examined). They were mainly of Italian nationality (98.1%), women (94.4%), aged between 18-22 years (85.2%). In general, the third-year students were more satisfied with the internship experience than the second- and first-year students, most likely for having achieved a degree of autonomy of care, awareness and greater professional motivation.Conclusions.The results indicate the need to periodically investigate the quality and satisfaction of the clinical internships to ensure increasingly effective obstetric training.

New features:
plot_precision_recall_curve
and
plot_roc_curve
have been deprecated for
plot_precision_recall
and
plot_roc
, respectively. The major difference is the deletion of the
curves
parameter and the use of
plot_macro
,
plot_micro
, and
classes_to_plot
to choose which curves should be plotted. Thanks to @lugq1990 for this change.

In a single transient middle cerebral artery occlusion model of stroke and using immunohistochemical techniques, the effects of a new therapeutic approach named Gemst (a member of the Poly-LLysine innovative therapies) have been studied in the rat brain. The expression of inflammatory (CD45, CD11b), oxidative (NO-tryptophan, NO2-tyrosine) and indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase pathway (kynurenic acid, 3-hydroxy anthranilic acid) markers has been evaluated in early and late phases of stroke. For this purpose, we have developed eight highly specific monoclonal antibodies directed against some of these markers. In the early phase (3 and 5 days of the stroke, we observed no effect of Gemst treatment (7.5 mg/day, subcutaneously for 3, 5 days). In the late phase (21 days) of stroke and exclusively in the ipsilateral side of non-treated animals an overexpression of kynurenic acid, 3- hydroxy anthranilic acid, CD45, CD11b, GFAP and ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 (IBA-1) was found. In treated animals, the overexpression of the four former markers was completely abolished whereas the overexpression of the two latter ones was decreased down to normal levels. Gemst reversed the pathological conditions of stroke to normal situations. Gemst exerts a multifunctional action: down-regulates the indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase pathway and abolishes brain infiltration, microglial activation and gliosis. Moreover, Gemst has no effect on the expression of doublecortin, a protein involved in neuronal migration. Gemst could be a new drug for the treatment of stroke since it reverses the pathological findings of stroke and normalizes brain tissue conditions following the ischemic insult.

Using an immunohistochemical technique, we have studied the distribution of 3-OH-anthranilic acid (3-HAA) in the rat brain. Our study was carried out in control animals and in rats in which a stroke model (single transient middle cerebral artery occlusion) was performed. A monoclonal antibody directed against 3-HAA was also developed. 3-HAA was exclusively observed in the infarcted regions (ipsilateral striatum/cerebral cortex), 2, 5 and 21 days after the induction of stroke. In control rats and in the contralateral side of the stroke animals, no immunoreactivity for 3-HAA was visualized. Under pathological conditions (from early phases of stroke), we reported for the first time the presence of 3-HAA in the mammalian brain. By double immunohistochemistry, the coexistence of 3-HAA and GFAP was observed in astrocytes. The distribution of 3-HAA matched perfectly with the infarcted regions. Our findings suggest that, in stroke, 3-HAA could be involved in the tissue damage observed in the infarcted regions, since it is well known that 3-HAA exerts cytotoxic effects.

The stage about working life is the most important and significant stage because is the activity which is more realizing. Because of that, when the stage of retirement arrives, various options are open and most of them with some doubts. The main objective of this investigation is to analyze what is the vision of the workers in this stage. The established methodology is based on a qualitative analysis. The results of this study are discussed in terms of different groups: 50-55 years, 55-60 years and 60-65 years. We find diversity of perceptions of retirement based on personal experience, yet all with a common denominator: the importance of social and folkloric support. Thus a program of preparation for retirement should be approached individually and should include a theoretical part and another practice part focused on each person.
