Purpose The purpose of this study is to understand how businesses use artificial intelligence (AI) to efficiently perform financial management practices to enhance green innovation performance. Specifically, the authors propose that firms leveraging AI can effectively manage their cash, inventory and receivable, which in turn contributes to their green innovation. Design/methodology/approach The authors collected 208 responses from manufacturing firms in developing economies and tested the model using SmartPLS. Findings The results of this study indicate that while AI does not directly contribute to green innovation in manufacturing firms, it does so indirectly through improved financial management practices. Specifically, AI enables firms to optimize their financial management practices, particularly cash management and inventory management, thereby enhancing green innovation. However, receivables management did not show a significant mediating role between AI and green innovation. Practical implications This research recommends that firms focus on AI adoption to use financial resources for achieving green innovation. Social implications To support society in green innovation, manufacturing industry needs to focus on digital transformation and AI adoption to foster sustainable development. Originality/value This research fills a significant gap by integrating AI with financial management in SMEs to enable green innovation, making it a unique contribution to the literature on environmental science and accounting.

Drawing on Upper Echelon Theory (UET), this study examines how Western directors in Asian-listed firms influence firm performance in Asian markets. The study employs the system GMM to estimate a dynamic model capturing the relationship between the Western board and firm performance. Based on a cross-country sample of 14,320 firms’ years of observations from 2010 to 2019, the empirical evidence suggests that firms with Western boards (comprising a majority of Western directors, ≥50%) exhibit a positive and statistically significant impact on firm performance. Further, the presence of a Western CEO (1/0) is positively and significantly related to firm performance. These findings show that Western directors play a significant role enhancing firm performance when they hold a majority position on the corporate board or occupy the CEO role. The study also finds that their role is not restricted by the firm’s complexity, internationalization, and ownership structure (except state ownership). In an additional analysis, the study finds Western boards and Western CEOs complement each other in their positive association with firm performance. Theoretically, the study adds to the Upper Echelon Theory (UET) by exploring the role of Western directors in an Asian context.

In a globalized world of constantly challenging demands, the acquisition of English as a lingua franca remains essential. Bearing this in mind, the current paper explores how sustainability in English language acquisition can be emphasized to ensure quality outcomes in the long run. The study, as such, raises two questions: what components should an English as a foreign language (EFL) university course comprise to ensure sustainability in English language acquisition, and what are the specifications of an EFL course, designed to ensure sustainability in English language acquisition? Employing a mixed-methods design, the author of this paper distributed a questionnaire and conducted an interview covering two categories of subjects; namely, EFL instructors and university students. The study findings stress the need to integrate literature, life skills, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), communication skills, environment-awareness education, and human values into English language courses. In addition, the findings highlight several specifications for an EFL course designed to ensure sustainability in English language acquisition, such as utilizing technological advancements, tailoring English courses as per current trends, focusing on students’ research projects, encouraging community involvement, conducting co-curricular activities, and implementing Knowledge-Skill-Disposition (KSD)-oriented assessments. The study ends with a proposed framework for scholars to consider.

Blockchain technology, renowned for its decentralized and immutable nature, is poised to revolutionize the landscape of smart healthcare. In this transformative paradigm, patient data becomes securely stored and efficiently managed, fostering unprecedented levels of trust, transparency, and interoperability among healthcare stakeholders. By leveraging blockchain, institutions can ensure the integrity and confidentiality of medical records, mitigating the risk of data breaches. Smart contracts embedded within the blockchain facilitate automated execution of agreements, streamlining processes such as insurance claims, medication adherence monitoring, and patient consent management. Moreover, it enables the creation of comprehensive patient-centric networks, facilitating seamless data sharing across disparate healthcare systems while maintaining patient privacy. This technology holds immense promise for reforming smart healthcare, fostering a future where data is securely shared, patient outcomes are optimized, and the delivery of healthcare services is truly patient-centric.

The widespread availability of social media has altered the way in which humans converse, learn, and access information in a virtual environment. In this investigation, social media's psychological impact is discussed in Saudi high school students and instructors, with a specific analysis of anxiety, depression, and overall mental well-being.With a mixed-methods study, survey data and interviews are examined to assess social media use behavior and its association with markers of mental wellness.Findings confirm a significant relation between long-term social media use and increased tension, with symptoms including sleep loss, exhaustion, and lowered concentration. As social media opens avenues for communication and information distribution, excessive use is accompanied by cyberbullying behavior, comparing oneself with others, and increased anxiety and depression in students. The study extends present investigations through consideration of Saudi Arabia's educational and cultural environment, in which technology use is becoming increasingly widespread.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between employee resilience, motivation, and organizational development in the context of private organizations, by understanding the dynamics of this relationship, it is hoped that an implementation can be found in a finding in the paper and see from these findings a literature review of effective strategies to increase employee resilience and stimulate organizational development. This paper uses a qualitative method by searching the literature for findings related to the existing papers in this paper that have been implemented in the results of existing papers. The time period of the paper is ten years. Employee resilience has a central role in facing challenges and influencing organizational development, High motivation in employees can increase their resilience, which in turn supports organizational development. In this paper, the findings from dozens of literatures do not answer all of them, therefore links between variables are taken, and if for directly with three variables, no paper has stated the findings.
