The Fundamentals of Stock Market Investing in the Twenty-First Century
This chapter discusses the fundamentals of stock marketing investing in the twenty-first century. In a nutshell, this chapter seeks to provide a fundamental understanding of stock market investing to interested laypersons across the world. It examines the various issues of critical importance in stock market investing. It dissects the experience of beginners, the most vulnerable participants in the stock market, and equips them with some knowledge cushion. It discusses several strategies for managing the various pitfalls inherent in stock market investing. Finally, it discussed the revolutionary impact of technology on stock market investing.

Abstract The COVID‐19 pandemic profoundly affected food security by disrupting supply chains through border closures Our study concentrates on South Asia and examines the interplay between COVID‐19, agri‐food trade, and inflation using monthly panel data spanning 2018–2021. Our findings demonstrate that the pandemic notably escalated food inflation in the region. Nevertheless, the robust interaction of agri‐food trade with COVID‐19 helped alleviate this effect. This underscores the significance of trade policies in controlling food inflation during the pandemic in South Asia.

A qualitative study on the educational and psychosocial challenges of social work students and the coping strategies during the COVID 19 pandemic
ABSTRACT The COVID-19 “Corona” virus which spread across the entire world infected 228 Countries and Territories around the world and a total of 608,334,993 confirmed cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 that originated from Wuhan, China, and a death toll of 6,496,836 deaths. In the United States, it affected more than 9.4 million people. This has changed the entire lifestyle of the people and schools and colleges were shut down from 16th March 2020 onwards. This article focuses on the impact of COVID-19 on social work education, and the psychological and sociological aspects of the community in Louisiana. Data was collected using an online a 15 -item questionnaire that was emailed to all the students studying at the Louisiana Christian University, Louisiana State. Findings revealed that there is a need for advanced preparedness plans and resources to face sudden epidemics.

The purpose was to characterize antimicrobial and anticoagulation therapies used in health systems with children receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). An anonymous electronic survey assessing health system demographics and antimicrobial and anticoagulation therapies during ECMO was distributed to the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Pediatric Practice and Research Network and the Pediatric Pharmacy Association Critical Care Special Interest Group. The primary objective was to identify the number of respondents using antimicrobial prophylaxis for ECMO cannulation and ECMO runs. Secondary objectives included the first- and second-line anticoagulants and anticoagulation laboratory parameters. Additionally, the antimicrobial regimens and the dosing and administration of antithrombin III (AT III) with systemic anticoagulation were collected. Descriptive statistics were employed. The questionnaire was completed by 38 respondents from 33 health systems; respondents practiced in the pediatric ICU (n = 20; 52.6%), cardiovascular ICU (n = 14; 36.8%), and neonatal ICU (n = 4; 10.5%). Twenty-eight (73.6%) respondents use antimicrobial prophylaxis during ECMO cannulation or ECMO runs, with most units using cefazolin monotherapy. Thirty-five (92.1%) respondents use heparin as the first-line anticoagulant and used a variety of laboratory tests including anti-factor Xa, activated clotting time, and activated partial thromboplastin time. The most common second-line anticoagulant was bivalirudin (n = 24; 63.2%). Thirty-six (94.7%) respondents use AT III with heparin, with most patients receiving AT III dosing calculated based on a formula for the desired AT III concentration. The majority of respondents use antimicrobial prophylaxis, but variations in the regimens were noted. Heparin was the most common anticoagulant, but variations in laboratory monitoring and concomitant use of AT III were found.
Read moreSharp upper bounds of $A_\alpha$-spectral radius of cacti with given pendant vertices
For $ \alpha \in [0,1]$, let $A_{\alpha}(G) = \alpha D(G) +(1-\alpha)A(G)$ be $A_{\alpha}$-matrix, where $A(G)$ is the adjacent matrix and $D(G)$ is the diagonal matrix of the degrees of a graph $G$. Clearly, $A_{0} (G)$ is the adjacent matrix and $2 A_{\frac{1}{2}}$ is the signless Laplacian matrix. A connected graph is a cactus graph if any two cycles of $G$ have at most one common vertex. We first propose the result for subdivision graphs, and determine the cacti maximizing $A_{\alpha}$-spectral radius subject to fixed pendant vertices. In addition, the corresponding extremal graphs are provided. As consequences, we determine the graph with the $A_{\alpha}$-spectral radius among all the cacti with $n$ vertices; we also characterize the $n$-vertex cacti with a perfect matching having the largest $A_{\alpha}$-spectral radius.
Read moreComplexity of Some Generalized Operations on Networks
The number of spanning trees in a network determines the totality of acyclic and connected components present within. This number is termed as complexity of the network. In this article, we address the closed formulae of the complexity of networks’ operations such as duplication (split, shadow, and vortex networks of Sn), sum (Sn + W3, Sn + K2, and (Cn∘K2) + K1), product (Sn⊠K2 and Wn∘K2), semitotal networks (Q(Sn) and R(Sn)), and edge subdivision of the wheel. All our findings in this article have been obtained by applying the methods from linear algebra, matrix theory, and Chebyshev polynomials. Our results shall also be summarized with the help of individual plots and relative comparison at the end of this article.
Read moreCardiac Collapse Secondary to Phenytoin Toxicity in a Neonate Treated with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Support (ECMO).
Although medication toxicity is uncommon in neonates, there are several medications used in this population that pose a risk. Phenytoin has an increased risk of toxicity given its narrow therapeutic window and variations in drug elimination. We describe the case of a 3-day-old male infant who developed cardiovascular collapse secondary to severe phenytoin toxicity (max phenytoin level 86 μg/mL) and was placed on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support (ECMO). Several ancillary treatments were utilized in an attempt to decrease serum phenytoin concentrations and limit toxicity including albumin boluses, phenobarbital administration, intravenous lipid infusion, and folic acid supplementation. Although uncommon, drug toxicity should be considered in patients with acute changes who are exposed to medications with potential toxicity. With elevated levels of phenytoin, the half-life can be prolonged resulting in longer exposure to elevated levels of the drug as seen in our patient. This case report highlights the importance of ECMO utilization for cardiac support in neonates with medication toxicity and other potential ancillary treatments to decrease serum phenytoin concentrations.
