Revision of refugee resettlement is duly needed to help millions, not a lucky few who have asylum in foreign countries, as Dr Rush states in her research. Accordingly, for the asylum price of one Somali in Finland, 114 Somalis could be helped locally. Yet, welfare for all and in-person applications give free access to most states, which should never have been accepted. The analysis accordingly suggests that asylum in Europe is elitist and utilitarian for those with the financial means to travel long distances, as they can choose to be unemployed. It clearly discriminates against women who must stay in circumstances where women have no rights. The threefold examination additionally concludes that asylum seekers from Muslim countries often take the war with them, as terrorism and hatred against women are habitually committed by Muslim men. When men with religious aspirations come with an ideology and foreign legal provisions, the system often appears to restrict women extensively, a practice that Western women are not used to. We cannot adopt cultural or religious practices that violate women’s European rights, such as genital mutilation, honor killings, and Sharia law. For European women, Islamic practices take their equality back to a time period that did not even exist. Refugees cannot thus be allowed to establish a state within a state, as they are obligated to obey the asylum state’s laws. If they cannot follow these obligations, Europe has to follow the rich Arab states’ example: no admission of Muslim refugees.

In the aftermath of violent conflict, Indigenous cultural practices have played a significant role in restoring peaceful relations among former adversaries. Processes such as Mato Oput in Uganda, Gacaca in Rwanda, and Kukeleeku ka tonu in Liberia exemplify community-based approaches to reconciliation and social healing in post-conflict environments. Today, scholarly research has begun investigating and exploring the relevance and applicability of Indigenous cultural practices to conflict resolution and peacebuilding in post-conflict contexts. These practices have proven effective in addressing conflict and restoring social cohesion within Indigenous, conflict-affected communities. However, a comprehensive synthesis of the scholarly work on this subject is absent. This neglect is twofold: while there is growing recognition of ritual and cultural practices in peace studies more broadly, Indigenous practices remain underrepresented because existing literature often sidelines Indigenous voices and rarely grounds analysis in empirical work led by or with Indigenous communities. This neglect reflects broader assumptions that Indigenous knowledge is unscientific, lacking empirical validity, and insufficient for addressing structural drivers of conflict such as political exclusion or economic inequality. Consequently, Indigenous cultural practices remain underrepresented in conflict resolution and peacebuilding literature. This article seeks to address that disrepair by providing a systematic review of English-language scholarly literature on Indigenous cultural practices in post-conflict peacebuilding. It offers a thematic synthesis of key findings, outlines prevailing scholarly perspectives, highlights research gaps, and identifies directions for future research.

Background: High social support is easily assessed and associated with a healthier lifestyle, including vaccination adherence. Similarly, immunization is a widely available public health statistic associated with healthier behaviors. However, the link between the hepatitis immunization status and social support needs to be explored. Methods: We assessed the association between levels of social support and hepatitis immunization status using the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), a cross-sectional multidisciplinary database publicly available for researchers. With 2005–2006 data, 2997 participants were included. Statistical analyses were conducted using STATA18.5v software, including the odds ratio of both univariable logistic regression and multivariable logistic regression. After adjusting for clinically relevant confounders, two distinct models were designed: 1) full immunization, and 2) incomplete immunization. Results: Multivariable analysis revealed significantly greater odds of high social support for participants fully or partially immunized against both hepatitis A and B: 3.15 (95% CI 1.03–9.66,p=0.04) and 3.35 (95% CI 1.15–9.75,p=0.03), respectively. Conclusion: Our findings show an association between vaccination and social support in both adjusted models. Individuals not vaccinated at all may behave differently from those willing to be, at least partially, immunized. It seems that a similar behavior that may lead to vaccination may also lead to increased social support. Therefore, our study suggests that hepatitis vaccination could perhaps be a surrogate marker for public-health-related outcomes.

This study investigated the impact of smartphone addiction on the emotional intelligence of emerging youths in Oyo town, Nigeria, employing a descriptive survey design with 240 youths aged 18-25 years selected through multistage sampling. Data collection utilized the Smartphone Addiction Scale (SAS-SV), Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQue-SF), and Parental Mediation of Technology Use Scale (PMTUS). Results revealed a significant negative relationship between smartphone addiction and emotional intelligence (r = -0.621, p < 0.001), with 28.3% of participants categorized as high-risk for addiction and 38.8% at moderate risk. Higher smartphone addiction scores were associated with diminished emotional competencies across all domains, with self-control showing the strongest negative correlation (r = -0.697) and ANOVA results demonstrating significant differences in emotional intelligence across addiction risk levels (η² = 0.48 for global EI). Hierarchical regression analysis confirmed parental mediation as a significant moderator of this relationship (β = 0.143, p < 0.01), with active mediation strategies providing stronger protective effects than restrictive approaches. These findings support the rejection of both null hypotheses and highlight the need for educational interventions targeting digital wellness, emotional competence development, and effective parental mediation strategies, contributing to understanding the psychosocial implications of digital technology usage among Nigerian youth and providing a foundation for culturally appropriate intervention programs.

Cloud computing has significantly transformed the way organizations utilize computing resources by offering scalability, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness. Energy consumption has become a major research concern with the growing demand for cloud services these days. Adaptive energy optimization techniques are very much essential to minimize energy usage across cloud servers. The main objective of this research is to conserve energy across heterogeneous cloud servers in datacentres. The proposed adaptive energy optimization framework uses container orchestration utilizing Kubernetes framework by sharing the host system kernel and reducing resource overhead to maximize energy efficiency. The work also incorporates smart algorithms, including Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Swarm Intelligence, and Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) to enable the real-time, energy cognizant distribution of workloads according to the current demand, avoiding unnecessary consumption of resources. Kubernetes container orchestration to optimize energy usage, facilitating effective scaling and thus simplifying the management of applications. Two novel components, the Adaptive Resource Adjustment Algorithm (ARAA) and the Automated Resource-Aware Kubernetes Lifecycle Management (ARKLM), work together to dynamically adjust resource allocation and deactivate idle containers within the Kubernetes environment. Experimental results confirm the framework’s effectiveness, demonstrating that the DVFS algorithm achieved a low 0.94% average CPU usage, while the ACO algorithm delivered the fastest execution time. This dual-focus on energy efficiency and speed makes the framework a scalable and sustainable solution for modern cloud operations, aligning with UNSustainable Development Goals (7, 9, 12, 13, 17) by enabling energy-efficient, low-carbon, and collaborative cloud operations through intelligent automation.
