Ethnomedicinal plants used for treating dyspareunia in southern Pakistan
The current research is the first conducted to record the native remedial flora utilised by the occupants of southern areas of Pakistan for the curing of dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse). For the contemporary study, an ethnomedicinal exploration of 3 chief rustic locations of southern regions (Thar Desert, Bahawalpur and Cholistan Desert) of Pakistan was conducted during January 2024 to February 2025. All through the current research, 20 curative flora belonging to 16 families were recognised. Lamiaceae was the chief family with 3 species. Likewise, the major life form was herbs (11 species). Similarly, the technique of formulation was decoction (11 species). The greatest value of informant consensus factor (ICF) was about 0.97 which enabled informants to attain orgasm. The maximum consensus index (CI) value was gained for Rosa gallica L. (98.4 %). Correspondingly, the maximum cultural significance index (CSI) was 52.4 for Nigella sativa L. Likewise, the uppermost value of relative frequency of citation for Tribulus terrestris L. was 0.56. The most used medicinal plants in the study area with 100 % FL were Cocos nucifera L., Cousinia stocksii C.Winkl., etc which were used to treat muscular pain along with contractions in the pelvic area, and to relieve aching feelings in non-penetrative sexual activity respectively. The current study recorded that 3 chief distant regions of southern areas of Pakistan have significant diversity of curative plants, for curing of dyspareunia (painful sexual intercourse). Therefore, the present research provides a base for further pharmacological and phytochemical investigation for the assessment of their bioactive compounds that might leads to innovative drug discovery.

The paper examines the dynamics of organizational ambidexterity through a bibliometrics trend over a period of more than five decades (1974 to 2025). Based on a sample of 3,678 academic publications published in 963 journals, the study will analyse the development of publications, the contribution of various countries, institutional affiliation, and citation styles to reveal the changing intellectual framework in the discipline. At a rate of 11.06 per annum with the co-authorship ratio on the international level rising to 32.38, the results reveal the growth of the ambidexterity research as well as its globalization. Using bibliometric mapping and citation analysis, the study addresses three core research questions: (1) how has global scientific production on ambidexterity evolved over time? (2) Which countries, institutions, and journals have contributed most significantly to advancing the field? (3) What are the intellectual and citation patterns that shape the theoretical and practical discourse on ambidexterity? Findings indicate that USA and China lead in terms of publication volume whereas other countries such as Switzerland and the Netherlands have a disproportionate impact in terms of citation. Besides, the university of Alicante and university of science and technology of China become the most dominating affiliations with knowledge-based systems and journal of business research being the most powerful publication outlets. The research study has a contribution to the literature by bridging a gap in the research on mapping the global trend of ambidexterity research in a systematic manner and establishing the emerging trends. Combining the aspects of productivity, collaboration, and citation impact, it brings to the fore the interaction between the already-existing foundations and the streams of inquiry that are emerging. The results are important to the scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to learn not just the direction that the ambidexterity research has taken but also where it is going to lead to, providing a roadmap to future theoretical development and cross-disciplinary integration. Read moreSystematic Review on Diagnostic Approaches and Management Strategies for Benign Urological Tumors in Adult Populations
Background: Benign urological lesions in adults are frequently encountered in clinical practice and include renal angiomyolipoma, benign renal masses, and selected symptomatic benign proliferative conditions managed within urology. Although these lesions are non-malignant, they may still cause hemorrhage, pain, obstructive symptoms, diagnostic uncertainty, and treatment-related loss of organ function. Contemporary management has shifted toward more selective intervention and greater emphasis on nephron preservation, but the evidence remains fragmented across lesion types and treatment pathways. Objective: To systematically evaluate current diagnostic approaches and management strategies for benign urological lesions in adults, with emphasis on diagnostic utility, symptom outcomes, complications, lesion progression, recurrence, and preservation of organ function. Methods: A systematic review with qualitative synthesis was conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020. PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Web of Science were searched for studies published between January 2014 and March 2024. Eligible studies included adults with radiologically characterized or histologically confirmed benign urological lesions and reported diagnostic or management outcomes. Two reviewers independently screened studies, extracted data, and assessed methodological quality using RoB 2 for randomized trials and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale for observational studies. Owing to substantial clinical and methodological heterogeneity, findings were synthesized narratively. Results: Eight studies involving 1,427 adults were included. Five studies evaluated renal angiomyolipoma, two examined benign small renal masses, and one assessed symptomatic benign prostatic proliferative disease. Active surveillance was safe for most small asymptomatic angiomyolipomas, with 94% showing no clinically meaningful growth over 36 months in one prospective cohort and 60% of tuberous sclerosis complex-associated cases remaining intervention-free over 5 years. For larger or symptomatic angiomyolipomas, selective arterial embolization preserved renal function better than partial nephrectomy, with a smaller decline in estimated glomerular filtration rate at 12 months (-3.2 vs -11.5 mL/min/1.73 m²; p<0.01), although post-embolization syndrome was more frequent. Percutaneous biopsy for indeterminate small renal masses showed 88% sensitivity, 100% specificity, and a 15% non-diagnostic rate. Conclusion: Current evidence supports surveillance for selected small asymptomatic renal angiomyolipomas and selective arterial embolization as an effective kidney-preserving option for larger or symptomatic lesions. However, the evidence base is predominantly observational and heavily renal-focused, underscoring the need for higher-quality prospective comparative studies across the broader spectrum of benign urological lesions.

This study examined the effects of the U.S.–Iran conflict on students’ mental well-being and school attendance in Gilgit-Baltistan. A quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional survey design was used. The population comprised secondary and higher secondary school students, and a sample of 350 students was selected through multistage sampling. Data was collected through a self-developed questionnaire consisting of 40 items excluding demographic information. The instrument measured mental well-being, school attendance, challenges faced by students, and coping and support mechanisms. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation, and regression analysis. The findings indicated that the conflict negatively affected students’ mental well-being and school attendance. Female and public-school students reported comparatively higher levels of distress and challenges. The study concluded that crisis-related uncertainty influenced students’ emotional health and educational participation, and it recommended school-based psychosocial support and crisis-sensitive educational strategies.
