Virtual outcrop models of geological structures: problems and best practices related to extraction of 3D structural data
The advancement of computer vision–based photogrammetric image processing pipelines, particularly Structure from Motion–Multi-View Stereophotogrammetry (SfM-MVS), has rapidly evolved. This evolution, coupled with the accessibility of low-cost and portable acquisition tools such as DSLR and mirrorless cameras, Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and smartphones, has transformed outcrop studies in structural geology, propelling traditional field geology into the digital era. Notably, this revolution has significantly impacted Virtual Outcrop Models (VOMs), elevating them from mere visualization media to fully interrogable quantitative objects. Among the various applications of VOMs in structural geology, the extraction of near-planar features, including fracture and bedding surfaces, stands out as crucial. Numerous procedures exist for this purpose, ranging from fully automated segmentation and best-fitting of point clouds to the manual picking of 3D traces on both point clouds and textured meshes. In this work, we explore the advantages, disadvantages, best practices, and drawbacks associated with the principal procedures for extracting near-planar geological data from VOMs. While automated or supervised recognition and subsequent best-fitting of coplanar patches in point clouds have garnered significant attention, their application is generally limited to specific case studies. Geological outcrops commonly lack patches of sufficiently large near planar surfaces for robust best fitting, necessitating manual picking procedures based on visual and/or structural interpretation. In such cases, the use of textured meshes is preferred over point clouds, and consideration must be given to the accuracy of the textured mesh during digitization, as well as the intrinsic roughness of geological surfaces. The analysis of coplanarity and collinearity of picked point sets aids in identifying traces deviating from idealized configurations. However, commonly suggested threshold values often result in small datasets. Nevertheless, relying on the visual inspection of the best-fit plane and real-time computation of best-fit planes from picked point sets generally yields acceptable results, handling coplanarity and collinearity dynamically during the extraction process.

RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION OF THE UPPER ABU ROASH “G” SANDSTONE IN WEST OF NILE AREA, WESTERN DESERT, EGYPT.
Accurate reservoir characterization is an important stage in developing, managing the reservoir, and enhancement the production which depends mainly on a good description and precise interpretation of the reservoir facies. The study area is considered as a part of Qarun Petroleum Company's development leases which are located in the western side of Beni Suef Basin, the northeastern Western Desert which is considered the most important petroleum province in Egypt.Integrated sedimentological analysis of core description, petrographic and mineralogical constituents were carried out on the Upper Abu Roash "G" sandstone reservoir. The core description included 81.25 feet from the WON C-18 borehole helps to identify various sand bodies and distinguish four main facies groups: carbonate facies, mudstone facies, heterolithic facies, and sandstone facies.Petrographically, the sandstone facies samples have frequent amounts of monocrystalline quartz grains, few amounts of plagioclase, traces of polycrystalline quartz, common amounts of ferron dolomite, minor amounts of pore-filling kaolinite booklets and chlorite, amounts of well-developed syntaxial quartz overgrowths, traces of feldspar overgrowths. Also, we have secondary inter-and intraparticle pores, with moderate to good pore interconnectivity and the reservoir quality is moderate to good.Based on the facies, characterization, it is proposed that the stratigraphic intervals of the Upper Abu Roash "G" unit were deposited in subtidal-intertidal settings, where deposition of muddy-flat and intertidal sediments are locally interrupted by tidal-flat sand-channel deposits.

Factors Affecting Indonesian Nurse Behavior in Applying Universal Precaution
Professional nurses in carrying out their roles and functions on a daily basis, are always at risk of contacting various diseases. Transmission of the disease can occur via direct or indirect contact, transmission can be through droplet transmission, and airborne transmission (CDC). Universal precautions are one of the strategies that have been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in efforts to control infection and disease transmission in health facilities, such as hospitals, doctors' practices, and other health care centers. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors that influence the behavior of Indonesian nurses in implementing universal precaution in the Center for Health Services in Qatar. The research process was carried out in October 2011 in Qatar with a total sampling method, a total sample of 52 respondents. The results showed that most Indonesian nurses in Qatar with a Diploma in Nursing, had work experience of more than 6 years. Placed in various locations such as; ambulance services, company clinics and hospitals. There was no significant relationship between knowledge and nurses behavior in applying Universal Precaution (p <0.05). There was no significant relationship between attitude and behavior of Indonesian nurses in implementing Universal Precaution (p <0.05). There was no significant relationship between motivation and the behavior of Indonesian nurses in implementing Universal Precaution (p <0.05). There was a significant relationship (p <0.05) between the means and the behavior of Indonesian nurses in implementing Universal Precaution. Based on these results it is necessary to maintain the consistency of nurses to always apply universal precaution appropriately according to the patient's condition at hand

Casing Drilling Resulted in Slimmer Hole Design and Significant Cost Savings in the WON Field in Egypt
Abstract Drilling through the highly unstable clastic deposits formation has been the major concern in the West of Nile field well planning in Qarun Petroleum Company. The West of Nile wells’ geological column consists of the Clastic Deposits and Abu Roash formations to TD, the Clastic Deposits formation extends from surface to 4600 ft., the upper part consists of unconsolidated sandstones and the lower part mainly consists of siltstone with stringers of shale. Drilling the intermediate Clastic Deposits section has always been challenging and expensive due to its severe wellbore instability. Specially formulated water-based drilling fluid (WBM) was used to stabilize the section, several wiper trips and continuous reaming have been done to ensure a stable borehole before running casing, this was always accompanied with the risk of getting pipe stuck and/or inability to run casing to bottom. Extra and Large-diameter casing strings have been run to split the clastics section which resulted in additional cost and time. The new approach of Drilling with Casing has turned the problematic clastic deposits formation to trouble-free drilling with less and shorter casing strings, it eliminated the Non-Productive Time (NPT) associated with wellbore instability problems and most importantly impacted in changing the well design and enabled to drill slimmer holes. As a result, the overall well cost was reduced by 37% and the economics and field development plan of the WON drilling campaign have changed. In this paper, we discuss the challenges faced by conventional drilling and planning and execution of the Drilling with Casing (DwC) technique that managed to mitigate the wellbore instability issues. We here focus more on well design changes towards slimmer hole after implementing DwC technology.
