Development of Interpersonal Evaluation Tools for Preparation in Child Nursing
Read moreA Case Study on Enabling Control in Sustainability Management
This study aims to clarify the role of enabling control in sustainability management by examining a case study of Saraya Co, Ltd, a company known for its social evaluations in this area. The analysis shows that enabling control is an integral part of the company’s sustainability efforts. Specifically, Saraya uses management controls to utilize the experience and values of employees involved in external sustainability activities and integrate them into the organization through personnel control and structural design. These management control practices enable the company to identify and address social issues beyond its core business, thereby enhancing its role in the social network for solving social problems. The study highlights the importance of increasing “global transparency” while providing employees with the “flexibility” to act beyond organizational logic. In addition, integrating external sustainability activities with business operations enables the pursuit of social value and organizational goals. However, in the early stages, there were barriers between global transparency and internal transparency, which were managed through management control practices such as the philosophy of top management and the use of communication tools by senior managers. The study suggests that enabling control has significant potential in sustainability management and contributes to the theoretical development of enabling control in response to contemporary organizational challenges.
Read moreDevelopment and Validation of the Scale of Motives for Faith in Japan.
Previous religiousness scales have been developed in Christian contexts; we developed in Japan, where diverse religions coexist, the Scale of Motives for Faith comprising novel dimensions to facilitate intercultural comparison studies between Western and Eastern religions including monotheistic, polytheistic, and atheistic ones. In Phase 1, items were extracted using an adapted Delphi method; in Phase 2, validity and reliability were tested in a nationwide survey. In Phase 1, twenty experts representing Buddhism, Christianity, Shinto, Islam, and new religions extracted 16 items; in Phase 2 using a pilot scale, 1093 respondents' beliefs were analyzed. After one item was excluded, confirmatory factor analysis evaluating the 15-item-5-factor model indicated acceptable goodness of fit. In hypothesis testing, 87% were accepted. Cronbach's alpha ranged 0.79-0.93 and the intraclass correlation coefficient ranged 0.50-0.65. The Scale of Motives for Faith may serve to compare motives for religious faith worldwide and to identify motives for faith in relation to social, psychological, and health impacts across countries, religions, and cultures.

Energy-Based Continuous Time Series Probability Model with Latent Stochastic Process
Astract- This paper presents a new energy-based continuous time series probability model that has stochastic process in its latent dynamics. Because the model assuming its output is used for connecting a vector space such as embedding space and latent dynamics, one of the possible application of the present study is to predict sequence of segments such as in the human motion behavior recognition. The present model gives joint distribution of all variable, therefore, it has the property to generate learned sequence without conditioning any values including initial state. This property overcomes existing problem in initial value condition for frequently applied time series model such as recurrent neural network. Furthermore, energy-based continuous formulation gives us consistent method for both learning and estimating the state by the gradient descent and its derivative methods. Such consistent method is not proposed in existing study. In this paper, the model formulation, gradient estimator, and its learning method is shown. Experiments on synthetic data is given, and the validity of the proposed model and method discussed.

Abstract In previous studies, we developed innovative anti-loosening bolts and nuts with a double-thread structure (denoted DTB-IIC) composed of coaxial single and multiple coarse threads. It was also experimentally proven that the DTB-IIC has high anti-loosening performance. In this study, we analytically and experimentally investigated the effects of multiple thread groove depths and rolling methods on the thread rolling formability of DTB-IIC fasteners. The bottom rise rate of the multiple-thread groove was set in three ways of 50%, 60%, and 70%. As the depth of the multiple thread groove became shallower, peeling on the thread surface was suppressed and the high temperatures produced by thread rolling decreased significantly, but the loosening resistance against vibration clearly decreased. We compared three typical mass production processes for bolts: the round die method, the flat die method, and the planetary method, with the bottom rise rate set at 50%. It was found that the flat die method had the best rolling formability in terms of screw-thread shape and surface quality. A Finite element simulation consistently reproduced the deformation process of the complex DTB-IIC thread and revealed that the material shear flow due to over-rolling led to the occurrence of surface peeling.

For the first time, the article examines the critical reception of the poetry of Georgy Ivanovich Rybintsev (1885–1944), an “unknown poet” who unwittingly became involved in the literary struggle of 1913–1914. Rybintsev’s first collection of poems, A Necklace of Tears and Flowers (1913), went unnoticed by reviewers but allowed the author to enter literary circles close to the publishing house “Alcyone” (“Altsiona”). The owner of “Alcyone” A.M. Kozhebatkin published collections of aspiring poets of modernist orientation at the expense of the authors, but the appearance of the book under this brand meant belonging to the circle of Moscow modernists, which was considered by critics. The second collection of Rybintsev’s poems, Autumn’s Blueness (1914), published by “Alcyone,” unlike his first collection, attracted the attention of critics. However, their reviews were dictated not so much by the advantages and disadvantages of the poems as by the logic of the literary struggle. V.F. Khodasevich, who published his collection of poems Happy House (1914) in the “Alcyone,” spoke approvingly about Rybintsev’s book. S.M. Gorodetsky, who was at enmity with “Alcyone” for personal and literary reasons, subjected Rybintsev to sharp criticism, putting him in a row of incompetent amateurs. The radical modernist S.P. Bobrov attacked Rybintsev’s book in his usual mocking manner, both in futuristic (almanac “Rukonog”) and non-modernist editions. The critic of the realistic orientation V.V. Brusyanin, on the contrary, gave a detailed positive review of Rybintsev’s poetry, contrasting it with modernist authors from the circle of “Alcyone.” Critics’ reviews of Rybintsev’s poetry are reproduced here in full for the first time.
