This study investigates fraud in community group grant funds, supported by the Regional Government to enhance Provincial Government programs. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Findings indicate a lack of genuine community involvement in forming groups, with grant proposals often requiring dubious payments to coordinators. Physical development projects frequently utilized subpar materials and did not align with initial budget plans. Additionally, there was manipulation in reporting activities, with projects funded by village funds improperly claimed as grant initiatives. Delays in the accountability reporting, influenced by postponed project execution, complicate oversight. The study underscores the necessity for stringent regulations to prevent grant fund fraud, thereby assisting the Provincial Government in maintaining the integrity of its developmental agenda.

Background of the study: Gross motor competence in early childhood predicts later physical literacy, academic readiness, and psychosocial adjustment. Although structured physical activity is increasingly integrated into early childhood education, research on martial arts–based extracurricular programs for preschoolers remains limited, particularly within formal institutional settings in developing contexts. Aims and scope of paper: This study examines how a developmentally adapted Taekwondo extracurricular program supports gross motor development among children aged 5–6 years at TK Kemala Bhayangkari 79, Indonesia. It analyzes both the pedagogical structure of the program and its developmental implications within movement-based early childhood education. Methods: A qualitative phenomenological case study design was employed to explore participants’ lived experiences and institutional practices. Data were collected through non-participant observations of training sessions, semi-structured interviews with the head coach, assistant coach, and school principal, and document analysis. Participants included enrolled children and adult stakeholders involved in implementation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing to ensure analytical rigor. Results: The Taekwondo program, initiated in September 2025, was developmentally structured with warm-ups, core technique practice, and cool-down phases emphasizing discipline, emotional regulation, and playful engagement. Supported by tiered supervision from coaches and teachers, the program enhanced children’s balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, body control, concentration, and behavioral self-regulation. Effective implementation relied on coaches’ pedagogical sensitivity and age-appropriate communication. Contribution: This study reconceptualizes martial arts as a developmentally responsive pedagogical intervention rather than merely a competitive sport. Situated in Indonesia as part of the Global South, it provides context-sensitive evidence that challenges Western-centric models of physical literacy and expands theoretical discussions on culturally responsive physical education in early childhood. The findings also call for mixed-method and quasi-experimental research to strengthen causal inference and scalability across diverse educational contexts.

The rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has significantly transformed the conceptualization and implementation of smart city applications. This study aims to analyze the performance of Internet of Things (IoT) architecture in supporting smart city applications across various urban service domains, including transportation, environmental monitoring, public safety, and energy management. The research focuses on evaluating key performance indicators such as latency, throughput, scalability, reliability, and energy efficiency within a multilayer IoT architecture consisting of perception, network, middleware, and application layers.A quantitative experimental approach was employed by simulating smart city scenarios using heterogeneous sensors and communication protocols. Performance metrics were collected and analyzed under varying traffic loads and data transmission frequencies. The results indicate that network latency and bandwidth utilization significantly affect real-time data processing capabilities, particularly in time-sensitive services such as intelligent traffic systems and emergency response monitoring. Furthermore, the study found that edge computing integration enhances response time and reduces cloud dependency, thereby improving overall system efficiency and scalability. The findings suggest that optimizing network configuration, adopting lightweight communication protocols, and implementing distributed processing mechanisms are critical factors in enhancing IoT architectural performance for smart city applications. This research contributes to the development of a more reliable and efficient IoT infrastructure framework to support sustainable and data-driven urban governance. Future studies are recommended to explore security resilience and interoperability challenges in large-scale smart city deployments.

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of increasing cases of juvenile delinquency, moral and ethical decline, and various forms of social deviance that still occur among those who have received education. This study aims to identify and evaluate character education methods based on the actualisation of the exemplary values of the Prophet Muhammad as Uswatun Hasanah. The research method used is qualitative, with a descriptive approach, combining literature from various sources, such as journals, books, and holy books, with authentic evidence from the community. The results showed that implementing character education grounded in the values of the Prophet Muhammad changed individual behaviour towards greater moral conduct, as the Prophet succeeded in transforming jahiliyah society into one full of politeness. The conclusion of this study is that character education grounded in the example of the Prophet Muhammad is effective in shaping individuals with faith, devotion, and noble character. Suggestions for further research include deepening the implementation of these values in the modern education system and conducting comparative studies with existing character education approaches.

Coastal areas are highly dynamic environments facing increasing threats from both natural processes and human activities, such as coastal erosion, sea level rise, and land use changes. Prancak Village is one such coastal area vulnerable to geomorphological changes. This study aims to assess coastal vulnerability through geomorphological analysis using the Coastal Vulnerability Index (CVI) method. Data were collected from primary and secondary sources, including satellite imagery, field surveys, digital elevation models (DEMs), and data from relevant agencies. The analyzed parameters comprised coastal morphology, beach slope, shoreline change, wave height, and tidal range. The CVI calculation yielded a value of 6.93, which falls within the 5.8–10.06 range classified as “low vulnerability” (20–40% vulnerability level), indicating that the study site has relatively low susceptibility to the physical factors assessed Although the overall index is low, local physical dynamics still pose risks in certain areas, confirming that geomorphology and coastal ecosystem conditions are more decisive in determining vulnerability than oceanographic parameters such as wave height.

The decision to become teacher is greatly influenced by certain motivations such as altruistic, intrinsic, and extrinsic. Examining these motivations influencing individuals’ decisions to become teachers is essential for sustainable professional development. This is because no previous publication has focused on Generation Z’s (Gen Z) extrinsic motivations to pursue teaching profession. Therefore, this study aimed to explore motivations of Gen Z to become teachers in elementary schools. A qualitative analysis was adopted with a focus group discussion method including 58 pre-service teachers learning at the primary school teacher education program. Furthermore, the participants in the analysis were aged 18-22 years and also fell into the Gen Z category. Data obtained from the participants was further analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that extrinsic motivations underlying the desire of Gen Z to become teachers originated from the high social respect teaching receives from society, the promise of prosperity, and adequate employment opportunities. Extrinsic motivations also originated from childhood experiences inspired by religious teachings and the parents. The study further emphasized the importance of understanding the participants’ motivations for entering teaching profession to improve recruitment systems, providing motivation, set hours and workloads, as well as welfare systems for Gen Z teachers.

Abstract This research addresses the pervasive harmonic distortion issues in electric ship drive systems, which adversely affect power quality and system reliability. The primary objective is to develop an effective control strategy for multilevel inverters that mitigates harmonic emissions, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the ship’s energy management system. A fuzzy logic-based control approach is proposed and implemented, leveraging its adaptability to nonlinear system dynamics. The methodology encompasses a series of comprehensive simulation studies designed to examine and analyse various scenarios and outcomes thoroughly. Results demonstrate significant harmonic suppression, with total harmonic distortion (THD) reduced by up to 30%, leading to improved efficiency and reliability of the ship’s electrical drives. The findings suggest that fuzzy logic control can serve as a robust solution for harmonic management in maritime power systems, contributing to safer and more efficient vessel operations. Future work will focus on the real-time implementation and integration of advanced power management systems.

Based on the identified problems, the availability of tourism information remains suboptimal due to the rapid development of coastal tourist attractions and the increasing number of visitors. In addition, the information provided by the government through social media and official websites does not yet comprehensively present detailed and integrated information related to coastal tourism. Therefore, this study proposes the development of a system to assist visitors in selecting coastal tourist destinations according to their preferences. The system is implemented through web-based mapping of the coastal tourism industry in Jepara Regency using the Waterfall method. The proposed web-based coastal tourism industry information system provides comprehensive information on coastal tourist destinations and the related tourism industries, including visitor statistics, beach locations, entrance fees, accommodations, dining and leisure facilities, tourist attractions, as well as local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and their products located within the coastal areas. This system is expected to deliver accurate and complete information to potential tourists planning to visit coastal destinations in Jepara Regency.

This study evaluated a Zn–Cu compound micronutrient fertilizer on plant growth, yield components, grain yield, and fertilizer-use efficiency of Inpari 32 rice. A field experiment was conducted in an Inceptisol paddy field (1,100 m²) in Margokaton, Seyegan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (January–April 2025). Treatments were arranged in a non-factorial completely randomized design with eight fertilizer regimes and four replications, combining NPK with graded rates of Zn+Cu fertilizer. Pre- and post-planting soil nutrient analyses and post-harvest leaf tissue nutrient analyses were conducted, and vegetative traits, yield, Relative Agronomic Effectiveness (RAE), and fertilizer-use efficiency were evaluated. Soil Zn and Cu were initially very high and high, respectively, but remained below toxicity thresholds. Compared with regimes without Zn+Cu, Zn+Cu additions significantly increased plant height, tiller number, and milled dry grain yield. Treatments P2–P7 achieved RAE >100%, indicating greater agronomic effectiveness than the non-Zn+Cu regimes. The most effective dosage was P6 (1 dosage NPK + 1.5 dosage Zn+Cu).
