Revisiting ΛCDM extensions in light of re-analyzed CMB data
In the last years with the increasing precision in cosmological observations we have been able to establish a standard model of cosmology, the so-called ΛCDM, but also find some tensions between cosmological probes that are difficult to explain within the context of this model. We tested several phenomenological extensions of the ΛCDM with the newest datasets from the chain CMB+BAO+SNIa, to see whether they are able to alleviate the aforementioned tensions. We find that when the updated version of the Planck CMB likelihood (PR4 LoLLiPoP and HiLLiPoP ), with respect to the more used likelihoods (PR4 CamSpec and PR3), is considered, the lensing anomaly is reduced, and the preference for A L > 1 and Ω k < 0 is less significant. From the CMB+BAO+SNIa dataset, in the context of the parameterization w 0 w a CDM, we find a preference for a time-evoling dark energy over the rigid cosmological constant which is consistent with the most recent results from DESI collaboration.

ELISA and lateral flow immunoassay validation for a sensitive and rapid detection of crustaceans in thermally processed food and working surfaces
Crustaceans are one of the major triggers of food allergies and can be found as hidden allergens. A sandwich ELISA and lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA) were developed and validated to detect crustaceans by identifying prawn tropomyosin. Both methods could detect crustacean protein in complex food matrices spiked with prawn extract at levels of 1.25 and 5 μg/g, respectively, with high recoveries (59%-98%). Crustacean protein was also identified in model thermally processed foods (sausages, croquettes, and broth) containing prawn at levels of 1.25 and 10 μg/g using ELISA and LFIA. Among 63 basic ingredients analyzed, cross-reactivity was observed with mollusks, enabling their detection. ELISA and LFIA could detect 0.1 and 1.0 μg of crustacean protein on contact surfaces, respectively. Both tests proved to be robust. Laboratory and on-site analysis using these immunoassays can support allergen management strategies, helping to prevent unnecessary precautionary labelling. • Immunoassays can detect traces of crustaceans. • Immunoassays can detect several crustacean species. • Antibodies also have cross-reactivity with mollusks, allowing their detection. • ELISA and LFIA detect 1.25 and 10 μg/g of crustacean protein in thermally processed incurred food. • Rapid test detects 1.0 μg of crustacean protein on working surfaces.

Remote Sensing for Within-Plot Soil Variability Assessment Using NDVI Dispersion Metrics
While within-plot soil variability strongly influences crop development and agronomic management efficiency, practical and transferable methods for characterizing this variability remain limited. This study proposes a remote sensing framework to assess soil-driven crop heterogeneity using Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NVDI)-derived parameters and phenological analysis. Crop dynamics were monitored using Sentinel-2 imagery to identify key phenological stages (start of season, maximum development, and senescence), while high-resolution PlanetScope imagery was used to analyze within-plot spatial variability. NDVI dispersion metrics were used as proxies for spatial variability in crop development across soil units and under homogeneous management conditions to isolate soil effects. Results showed that NDVI standard deviation effectively captured spatial heterogeneity in crop development, revealing greater variability in Glacis Slope soils compared with the more homogeneous Platform unit. Crop senescence emerged as the most informative stage for detecting soil-driven variability, while emergence patterns were influenced by sowing dates and early establishment conditions. Analyses under homogeneous management confirmed that soil properties controlling soil moisture dynamics govern spatial variability in crop response. The proposed methodology provides a robust, low-cost, and transferable approach for identifying within-plot variability and supports precision agriculture by enabling site-specific management decisions based on satellite-derived indicators.

________________________________________________________________________________ English Abstract: The affective construction of social reality through feelings of approbation and disapprobation is a notion which can be traced back to Adam Smith's 'Theory of Moral Sentiments' (1759). This paper relates Smith's system of morals to his insights on self-organization and social constructionism in his economic theory. The interactional dimension in Smith's notion of the 'impartial spectator' is also analyzed, and seen as an important precedent of the constructionist theories of the symbolic interactionists and of dramatistic theories of the self. _______________________________________________________________________________ Notes: Downloadable document is in Spanish. __________________________________________________________________ Date Written: March 18, 2016 ____________________________________________________________________ Keywords: Adam Smith, Morals, Ethics, Philosophy, Affections, Sentiments, Social constructionism, Sociology, Social psychology, Dramatism, Self,
Read moreShifts with Nights and Migraine Prevalence Among Nurses: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Background: Fixed night work and rotating schedules including nights may contribute to migraine via sleep disruption and circadian misalignment, but evidence is inconsistent and definitions vary. This systematic review and meta-analysis compared past-year migraine prevalence in nurses working night-inclusive schedules versus day-only or non-night schedules. Methods: Following PRISMA 2020 and registered in PROSPERO (CRD420261304288), we searched PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, and the Cochrane Library from inception to 3 February 2026 (English/Spanish). Observational studies in nurses (≥18 years) reporting past-year migraine prevalence by shift pattern were eligible. All included studies assessed past-year prevalence; pooled PRs reflect 1-year prevalence. Crude prevalence ratios (PRs) were calculated from contingency tables and pooled quantitatively. Risk of bias was assessed with the JBI prevalence checklist. Results: We identified 54 records; 4 studies were included (N = 3843) of which 3323 participants contributed to the comparative meta-analysis because complete disaggregated data were available to construct contingency tables. The pooled association between night-inclusive schedules and migraine prevalence was not statistically significant (PR = 0.95, 95% CI 0.82-1.10; I2 = 0%). Secondary intensity contrasts were inconclusive (high vs. low: PR = 1.24, 95% CI 0.46-3.36; high vs. zero nights: PR = 0.85, 95% CI 0.38-1.93). Conclusions: Current nurse-specific evidence does not show a statistically significant difference in migraine prevalence between night-inclusive and non-night schedules; however, the small evidence base and limited generalizability preclude firm conclusions. Future longitudinal studies are needed to clarify this association.
