Feeling the lesson: Affect, attunement and trauma-informed physical education
Trauma-informed education has gained attention across schooling, yet physical education (PE) remains under-developed in this area. This study examines how educators in a Scottish Educational Support Centre understood and enacted trauma-informed pedagogies in PE following the school-wide adoption of the neurosequential model in education (NME). Using conversational inquiry, semi-structured interviews were conducted with six educators trained in the NME, including PE teachers, classroom teachers and support staff. Analysis generated three findings: relationships were understood as the foundation of trauma-informed practice in PE, flexibility was central to responding to daily unpredictability and contextual constraints, and the NME functioned primarily as a reflective framework rather than a guide for lesson planning. Educators rarely planned lessons around the NME. Instead, they relied on knowing students well, adapting activities in the moment, and responding to shifts in the affective atmosphere of the gym. The study suggests that trauma-informed PE is enacted less through fidelity to models and more through context-responsive, relational practice that requires sustained structural support.

The aim of the current research is to study the effectiveness of a training program based on Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to enhance the cognitive aspect of teaching performance for science teachers in preparatory stage, and this research has followed the quasi-experimental design and used one of its designs that are the two- group experimental design. The research sample consisted of 30 preparatory stage science teachers, divided into two groups, The research tool was applied both before and after the intervention to both groups. The data were collected then statistically analyzed to reach the results, which showed significant statistical differences between the mean scores of the experimental group teachers and the mean scores of the control group teachers in the post-application of the achievement test for the cognitive aspect of teaching performance, in favor of the experimental group teachers.

Analysis of Recurrent Errors in English as a Foreign Language among Secondary School Students
Writing, reading, speaking, and listening are the four skills that secondary school students studying Englishas a foreign language (EFL) are expected to master. This study examines the recurrent errors made by anumber of secondary school students in the four fundamental English language skills, since analysis of errorsand understanding their sources are essential. The goal of the study is to find common error patterns, investigate potential causes (such as interference from the mother tongue, a lack of exposure to real English, and instructional gaps), and show how these issues affect students' performance across a range of skills. Thestudy used a qualitative method. Interviews, direct observations and achievement tests were used to measurestudents' progress, understanding their learning experiences and challenges, and identifying recurrentlanguage errors. The results show that errors are not isolated but rather related, frequently indicating moregeneral learning challenges. Addressing these errors and improving English language teaching and learningoutcomes may require a more learner-centered and skill-integrated approach. This research offers insightfulinformation for educators and curriculum designers.
Read moreThe Effect of Aerobic Exercise on the Hippocampal Volume of Older Adults
The hippocampus is a portion of the brain that encodes memories into long - term storage and tends to see a decline in function with age. As aging is often associated with memory problems (e. g. dementia, Alzheimer's), it is essential to understand how activities people do naturally during their lives may slow or reverse age - related decreases in hippocampal volume. In this literature review, we aim for a better understanding of the role that consistent aerobic exercise plays in slowing the decay of the hippocampus? volume, as well as the effects that age and specific types of exercise have on this relationship. We will review published papers that use observational methods to examine the effects of different kinds of aerobic exercise in individuals? lives on the volume of the hippocampus in relation to total brain volume. We will collect effect size statistics from the relevant published studies to provide quantitative measurements of the impact of aerobic exercise on hippocampal shrinkage. From this point, psychologists and neurologists can better understand what potential interventions may be effective in the reversal of age - related memory decline.
Read moreBeyond Gini Coefficients: A Multidimensional Look at Inequality
This paper aims to provide an analysis of income inequality going beyond the Gini coefficient and discuss its economic, political, and social roots. It focuses on factors like globalization, automation, taxation, lobbying, labor relations, education, and discrimination. By comparing the United States, Scandinavian countries, and developing economies such as China and India, it shows how various governance and social structures affect inequality. The findings indicate that neoliberalism and minimal social policies widen the gaps, while high-tax welfare states and universal services can reduce them. Solutions are proposed such as progressive taxation, better labor laws, universal basic income, education for all, anti-discrimination laws, and corporate social responsibility. This study maintains that addressing income disparity is a complex process that requires the collaboration of governments, educational institutions, corporations, and civil society to build better societies. This is based on the complexities that surround economic inequalities, observed from the inter-sectional manner as opposed to the binary approach of Gini coefficient.
Read moreThe Mutual Stimulatory Effect Between Sound Knowledge and Sound Perception
This article aims to explore the interaction between sound knowledge and sound perception, especially in subjects with absolute pitch (AP). The study used fMRI scanning technology to explore two specific objectives: first, to test whether the brain system related to sound perception was actually activated when retrieving knowledge related to pitch through language stimuli; The second is to compare the speed and accuracy of subjects with absolute pitch perception and those without absolute pitch perception in terms of sound perception and sound memory retrieval association. The research results are expected to provide support for the view that there is a direct overlap between conceptual knowledge and perceptual systems, and further verify the correctness of the "embodied simulation" theory. In addition, the study also proposed further research directions, namely exploring the influence of absolute pitch ability on spatial perception ability of pitch and the similarities and differences in the neural basis between absolute pitch test subjects and other subjects when corresponding to CMC across modalities.
