Abstract Current climate change adaptation assessments are limited in their scope, accuracy, and relevance to local contexts. Here, we present an improved assessment approach using coproduction, applied to locally led adaptation (LLA) to flood risk in Tamale, Ghana. Through a multi-year process, including participatory ranking, focus groups, and household surveys, 11 solutions were assessed. Assessments considered multiple risk-reduction mechanisms, equity, sustainability, and co-impacts. Community-based and behavioural solutions, such as collective action and tree planting, were deemed most effective, whilst structural and technical solutions were ranked lower. By integrating these assessments into a flood risk model, we show that LLA approaches significantly reduced flood risk overall but did not address existing inequalities. Our results showcase the potential of coproduction to increase the scope and robustness of adaptation assessments and highlight practical challenges of delivering on the LLA principles in real-world settings.

ABSTRACT Action learning is becoming increasingly popular as an effective and powerful approach to learning and development. Originally mostly practised in the fields of organisational development and management education, it is now being applied in various contexts where the development of transversal skills such as critical and creative thinking, collaboration and problem-solving is vital. This paper explores how established action learning scholar-practitioners have developed their expertise over time. They examine their personal and professional journeys, reflecting on how they were attracted to the action learning community and how they developed their practice. Through their narratives, the paper aims to enhance action learning by providing valuable insights into its evolution as both theory and practice. Based on a symposium presented at the 9th Action Learning Conference, held in Manchester in April 2025, the four participants engaged in reflective discussions on their careers and contributions to the action learning community. Four themes are identified from these discussions. By sharing their reflections, the authors contribute to the ongoing dialogue in action learning theory and practice. Their insights serve as a resource for emerging scholars, practitioners and organisations seeking to deepen their understanding of action learning and apply it effectively in their respective contexts.

Diabetic patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) are at an increased risk of cardiovascular events as compared to non-diabetic patients. This analysis investigated outcomes of diabetic patients presenting with multivessel disease (MVD) and STEMI in a contemporary trial and the relevance of an immediate versus staged multivessel PCI strategy in this high-risk population. Patients enrolled in the MULTISTARS AMI trial were stratified according to the presence/absence of diabetes. Baseline characteristics and outcomes of diabetic and non-diabetic patients were compared. The primary end point was a composite of all-cause death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, stroke, unplanned ischemia-driven revascularization, or hospitalization for heart failure at 1year. In the MULTISTARS AMI trial, out of a total of 840 patients, 131 (15.6%) patients had diabetes. Patients with diabetes had a higher cardiovascular risk profile and worse kidney function. The occurrence of the primary end point was similar between patients with and without diabetes (HR, 1.14 (95% CI, 0.69-1.90), p-value = 0.60). Rates of non-cardiovascular death (HR, 6.53 (95% CI, 2.00-21.33)) and acute renal failure (HR, 3.23 (95% CI, 1.49-7.04)) were higher in diabetic patients as compared to non-diabetic patients. Comparing an immediate with a staged PCI strategy in diabetic patients, a numerically lower number of patients in the immediate PCI group experienced a primary end point event (10.6% vs. 16.9%, HR, 0.60 (95% CI, 0.23-1.53), p-value = 0.28). Among diabetic patients with STEMI and MVD, a strategy of immediate multivessel PCI may be safe and comparable to a strategy of staged multivessel PCI. Purpose This study aims to evaluate the idiosyncrasies of consumer behavior in the context of green products. It examined the relationship between trust, green perceived value and price premiums. Design/methodology/approach A survey was conducted to collect data from 578 respondents using convenience sampling. The results were analyzed using the partial least squares approach to structural equation modeling. Findings The study revealed that green perceived value mediated the effects of customers’ green product experiences on their willingness to pay price premiums. In addition, trust in green labeling did not directly influence consumers’ willingness to pay more. However, it indirectly affected willingness to pay more through green perceived value. Research limitations/implications This study focuses primarily on a single context, thus restricting the generalizability of the findings to other consumer groups or cultural situations. The cross-sectional nature of the data gathering further limits its capacity to establish conclusive causal correlations. Practical implications This study provides empirical support for the links between trust, green perceived value and price premiums in the context of green products. These findings can guide marketers in creating more effective marketing efforts by emphasizing green labeling to increase consumer trust in their products’ environmental features. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study is unique because it focuses on trust in green labeling as a catalyst that influences willingness to pay premium pricing. By applying signaling theory to a sustainable consumption context, it extends the applicability and deepens its relevance.

This article investigates the transformative impacts of regular nature-based adventure activity engagement and its long-lasting effects on eudaimonic well-being (EWB), specifically mental health. Although extant research highlights a wide range of well-being and mental health benefits from participation in such pursuits, less is known about experienced outdoor adventure enthusiasts for whom adventure is a fundamental and transformational part of their lives. The study builds on an existing conceptual framework that synthesizes pertinent research concepts on nature-based activity engagement and subjective well-being benefits. It presents key findings from 40 semi-structured in-depth online interviews with respondents from the UK, Germany, and Serbia. Interview data were collated and analyzed using a thematic framework approach. The findings highlight the importance of outdoor adventure activity engagement for respondents' mental and physical health and long-term well-being. Regular activity participation can be transformational in reducing feelings of ill-being and enhancing EWB. It can improve self-efficacy and identity development and promote the fulfilment of psychological needs, facilitated by key transformational catalyzers. Continually entering a liminal state, experiencing emotions, and overcoming challenges and risks during engagement are crucial to "successful" long-lasting transformation. Further research should continue to explore adventure's transformational and EWB benefits to develop long-term data.
