Analysis of microcracks and lack of sidewall fusion in API 5L X70M grade submerged-arc welded (SAW) pipes
This study investigates microcracks and lack of sidewall fusion in API 5 L X70M grade submerged-arc welded (SAW) pipes using nondestructive testing (NDT) methods. Through metallographic analysis and advanced NDT techniques, including ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), and phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT), the origins and impacts of these defects on pipeline integrity are examined. The results reveal that slag entrapment and improper fusion, stemming from welding process inconsistencies, are primary causes. The findings provide actionable insights into prevention strategies, such as optimized welding parameters and enhanced quality assurance measures, for ensuring the reliability of high-strength pipeline steels.

Chronic myeloid leukemia in the blast phase (BP-CML) remains challenging despite advancements in tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). This study retrospectively assessed BP-CML patients who underwent allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) from June 2009 to December 2022. Thirty-three patients were included and the median age was 41 years, with a predominantly male cohort. Myeloablative conditioning and peripheral blood stem cells were used in the majority of the patients. The estimated 2-year overall survival (OS) was 48.3% of the cohort. Relapse occurred in 48.5% of patients, typically within 3 months post-transplant. Post-transplant TKI maintenance showed a significant association with improved OS (p-value = 0.001). The study highlights the need for early intervention and optimized post-transplant maintenance to improve outcomes.

The Rise of Indian Footballers: A Study of Key Players and their Impact on Indian Football
This research focuses at the success of Indian football players and the way they have helped the sport acquire popularity nationally as well as internationally. Here we studied at how football culture is changing, grassroots initiatives, and institutions work to develop potential. The research focuses on important players who have helped raise awareness of Indian football, such as Sunil Chhetri and Bhaichung Bhutia. It also covers the role that youth football programs and institutional frameworks like the Indian Super League (ISL) play in developing fresh talent. The study emphasizes the crucial players' impact on the growth of the game and the difficulties they encountered in forming the story of Indian football by examining their accomplishments

Solving The Vehicle Routing Problem via Quantum Support Vector Machines
The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) is an example of a combinatorial optimization problem that has attracted academic attention due to its potential use in various contexts. VRP aims to arrange vehicle deliveries to several sites in the most efficient and economical manner possible. Quantum machine learning offers a new way to obtain solutions by harnessing the natural speedups of quantum effects, although many solutions and methodologies are modified using classical tools to provide excellent approximations of the VRP. In this paper, we implement and test hybrid quantum machine learning methods for solving VRP of 3 and 4-city scenarios, which use 6 and 12 qubit circuits, respectively. The proposed method is based on quantum support vector machines (QSVMs) with a variational quantum eigensolver on a fixed or variable ansatz. Different encoding strategies are used in the experiment to transform the VRP formulation into a QSVM and solve it. Multiple optimizers from the IBM Qiskit framework are also evaluated and compared.

Forecasting for the weather driven energy system - a new task under IEA wind
The energy system needs a range of forecast types for its operation in addition to the narrow wind power forecast that has been the focus of considerable recent attention. Therefore, the group behind the former IEA Wind Task 36 Forecasting for Wind Energy has initiated a new IEA Wind Task with a much broader perspective, which includes prospective interaction with other IEA Technology Collaboration Programmes such as the ones for PV, hydropower, system integration, hydrogen etc. In the new IEA Wind Task 51 (entitled "Foreacsting for the Weather Drive Energy System") the existing Work Packages (WPs) are complemented by work streams in a matrix structure. The Task is divided in three WPs according to the stakeholders: WP1 is mainly aimed at meteorologists, providing the weather forecast basis for the power forecasts. In WP2, the forecast service vendors are the main stakeholders, while the end users populate WP3. The new Task 51 started in January 2022. Planned activities include 4 workshops. The first will focus on the state of the art in forecasting for the energy system plus related research issues and be held during September 2022 in Dublin. The other three workshops will be held later during the 4-year Task period and address (1) seasonal forecasting with emphasis on Dunkelflaute, storage and hydro, (2) minute-scale forecasting, and (3) extreme power system events. The issues and conclusions of each of the workshops will be documented by a published paper. Additionally, the Recommended Practice on Forecast Solution Selection will be updated to reflect the broader perspective.
