The article outlines the relevance of a social and psychological support and rehabilitation for the children who have suffered from a full-scale military invasion of the Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine. The psycho-traumatic effects of the war on a child’s mental and physical development have been described: stress, anxiety, crisis condition and post-traumatic stress disorder. The social and psychological rehabilitation is determined to be aimed at helping the adults and children, who have survived the trauma, obtain the abilities of mental recovery, the skill to deal with the stress, post-traumatic stress disorder and alerts. The authors pay their attention to the effective implementation of various types of artistic and creative work (art therapy) in a rehabilitation work with children. It provides living through and revealing the negative feelings and preventing the development of post-traumatic stress disorder. Music therapy is determined as an art and therapeutic method of social and psychological rehabilitation which shows a maximum supporting recovery of a child’s positive attitude to himself, society, life, and forming secondary mental disorders (an aptitude to self-isolation, aggression). The article presents specific aspects of the musical compositions use at social and psychological rehabilitation (activating, relaxing, soothing) and emphasizes on Lo-fi hip-hop that is a subgenre of downtempo and combines hip-hop and chillout. The attention is focused on the main calming effect of the lofi music that is provided by both even and aggressive bits and a sound background to deep into the atmosphere of spiritual balance (birdsongs, thunderstorm, wind sounds, the crackle of a fire and others). It is proved that listening to the lofi music is of a significant therapeutic effect, proceeding from the improvement of cognitive functions, the stress reduction and the harmony of emotional state. The aim of the genre lies not in entertaining but helping a person find a calm area in uncontrolled digital and physical environment. Having evaluated the scientists’ attempts to describe the issue, we underline the idea of the organization of children social and psychological rehabilitation who suffered from military operations by means of music therapy instruments, to be within the need of theoretical justification of pedagogical conditions. It is the perspective of a further scientific search.

Infertility in male athletes is a multifactorial issue encompassing physiological, psychological, and social dimensions. Despite significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of reproductive disorders, psychological support for athletes remains underdeveloped – particularly in terms of integrating psychotherapeutic methods with physical wellness programs. Given the impact of stress, hormonal fluctuations, and the specific demands of professional sports, the development of personalized approaches to psychological and physical support is a relevant and timely challenge for modern medicine and sport psychology. The objective: to develop a typology of emotional responses among male athletes diagnosed with infertility and to identify personalized psycho-wellness support strategies through the integration of psychotherapeutic methods and physical exercises. Materials and methods. The study involved 100 male professional and amateur athletes (mean age M = 37.6; SD = 6.8) with a medically confirmed diagnosis of infertility. Psychodiagnostic tools included the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21) to assess emotional distress, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF) to evaluate emotional responses to the infertility diagnosis. Results. Five primary psychological response types to an infertility diagnosis were identified: Active Implementer – responded well to cognitive-behavioral therapy combined with functional training to sustain motivation. Isolated Sufferer – benefited from group therapy and breathing exercises to reduce anxiety. Rigid Traditionalist – showed positive results from family counseling paired with rehabilitative exercise programs. Skeptical Rationalist – responded to educational sessions and body awareness practices, which improved treatment adherence. Destructive Denier – required deep psychotherapy and emotional self-regulation training. The developed typology is based on real psychological requests and consultations from men diagnosed with infertility. It serves as a practical tool for clinicians, helping to better understand the emotional patterns and coping strategies commonly observed in this patient group. The typology does not aim to replace medical treatment or present psychological support as an alternative to clinical reproductive therapy. Rather, its purpose is to complement biomedical care by offering a structured framework for integrating psycho-emotional understanding into patient-centered support. In contrast to previous studies focused primarily on physiological or biomedical aspects, our research highlights the importance of addressing the individual psychological needs of men with infertility and proposes ways to personalize support strategies accordingly. Conclusions. We propose an original personalized typology of emotional responses in male athletes diagnosed with infertility, which may help them process the diagnosis more adaptively and guide tailored psychotherapeutic interventions. These findings can be implemented in clinical practice within reproductive health centers, by medical psychologists, and in wellness programs of sports organizations, in order to enhance the effectiveness of care for athletes living with infertility.

This article is devoted to the problem of forming of social competence of children with complex developmental disabilities by means of Music Art in rehabilitation centers. This is a key task of institutions that provide pedagogical, psychological, social and comprehensive rehabilitation services to children with disabilities. It was found that social competence determines the important components of integration processes, stimulates the acquisition of imitational skills and bilateral communication skills in children with complex developmental disabilities, formulate clear, accessible for determinant perception of children with psychophysical disabilities own social positions in today's society. It was found that new methods and technologies, which are implemented in the conditions of rehabilitation institutions, are aimed at mastering elementary social algorithms that facilitate the socialization of children with complex developmental disabilities by giving them practical tools for self-sufficient living within a modern society. It is grounded that the introduction of "The Integrated social and artistic course "My World" into the system of corrective and developmental activities within rehabilitation institutions can start a systematic line of social development of children with complex developmental disabilities. It is emphasized that adhering to a holistic line of social development of a child with complex disabilities during musical and corrective activities will enable children with complex developmental disabilities to generalize their own practical experience and independently solve elementary social problems. It is argued that the implementation of "The Integrated social and artistic course "My World" is an important condition for the formation of social competence of children with complex developmental disabilities by means of music education under the conditions of rehabilitation centers.

Introduction Gender dysphoria (GD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are two complex conditions that can significantly impact an individual’s identity and well-being. Emerging research suggests a notable overlap between these two conditions, yet the nature and implications of this relationship remain underexplored. This paper aims to investigate the intersection of gender dysphoria and autism, considering both psychological and social dimensions. Objectives The primary objectives of this study are to: (1) analyze the prevalence of gender dysphoria among individuals with autism, (2) explore the psychosocial factors contributing to the co-occurrence of GD and ASD, and (3) examine the implications for treatment and support strategies. Methods A comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed and Google Scholar, focusing on studies published between 2000 and 2024. Inclusion criteria centered on peer-reviewed articles that discuss the relationship between GD and ASD. Data were extracted and analyzed to identify common themes, prevalence rates, and psychosocial factors. Results Preliminary findings indicate that individuals with ASD may experience higher rates of gender dysphoria compared to the general population. Factors such as social communication difficulties, rigid thinking patterns, and heightened sensitivity to social norms appear to influence the experience of gender identity. Qualitative data reveal that many individuals navigate significant challenges in accessing appropriate support and validation, often feeling marginalized within both the autistic and gender-diverse communities. Conclusions This study highlights a critical intersection between gender dysphoria and autism, emphasizing the need for tailored support systems that acknowledge the unique experiences of individuals at this intersection. Increased awareness and understanding among healthcare providers can lead to more effective interventions and improved outcomes for those navigating both gender identity and autism. Future research should continue to explore this relationship to inform policy and practice, ultimately fostering a more inclusive environment for all individuals. The scientific study is devoted to determining the peculiarities of the legal status of rehabilitation institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The current legal acts, which establish the legal status of rehabilitation facilities, sanatorium-resort facilities, and health care facilities, have been analyzed. The legislation regulating the procedure for providing rehabilitation assistance to military personnel is characterized. The legal status of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine's sanatorium-resort (rehabilitation) institutions is governed by the procedures for their establishment, operations, provision of medical and rehabilitation services, and utilization of property in line with their intended purpose. The peculiarities of the legal status of sanatorium-resort (rehabilitation) institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine are revealed. Such institutions are established to provide medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatments. It is indicated that the legal basis for the medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment centers activity are such laws as: 'Basics of the legislation of Ukraine on health care'; 'On rehabilitation in the field of health care'; 'On the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in Ukraine'; and 'About resorts'   It is concluded that the centers of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment have the status of legal entities under public law, health care facilities, and sanatorium-resort facilities. It is stated that rehabilitation departments and sanatorium-resort facilities of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine can provide rehabilitation services only with a license. Such institutions are established in the organizational and legal form of budget institutions or state commercial enterprises. Amendments to the current legislation are proposed to improve the legal status of the centers of medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Pediatric Obesity Update

In the modern reality children and adolescents who find themselves in difficult life situations face many stress factors, which cause significant tension and rapid exhaustion of their adaptive reserves. The aim of this research is to study the level of formation of biomedical and psychological components of adaptive capacity of orphans and the correlations between these parameters. The following tasks were set: Analyze the structure of the incidence of children and adolescents living in social type institutions. Estimate the level of physiological and psychological adaptive potential of this kind of children. Determine the relationship between the physiological and psychological components of the adaptive potential. The research involved in total 30 children staying in social institutions in the city Azov, the Azov district of the Rostov region at the age of 9–13 years old – 14 person and at the age of 14–17 years old – 16 person. During this research, we came to the following conclusions: 1. For modern children and adolescents staying in institutions of a social type, a high level of general morbidity and a tendency to chronization of somatic diseases are characteristic; 2. A low-level of functional reserves of organisms of pupils staying in institutions of a social type is formed due to the high excitability of nervous processes, supported by sympathetic activation; — Children’s reactions are characterized by redundancy of vegetative response in reply to various incentives (psychoemotional or physical) and, as a rule, inadequacy of vegetative support of physical or mental activity; 3. Most of children and adolescents under study showed cognitive distortions with the formation of either a victim position or aggressive self-assertion, which in both cases leads to a decrease in adaptive potential; 4. A weak nervous system predisposes to the consolidation of such personal qualities as emotional vulnerability and sensitivity, while a strong nervous system contributes to the formation of an overly active struggle for self-affirmation in orphans; 5. Revealed correlations between the basic convictions of children and such components of the adaptive personal potential as neuropsychic stability, communicative potential and moral normativity. In connection with the above outlined, it is planned to create an algorithm for express diagnostics of maladjustment degree of children and adolescents and the selection of a complex for their medical, psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation.

Children who have suffered brain damage form a large group of patients in need of rehabilitation. For rehabilitation, patients require not only surgical, neurosurgical, traumatological, pharmacological and other medical support, but also the creation of special conditions for psychiatric care, psychological and pedagogical correction of their psychophysical potential. Neurological, motor and mental consequences of severe injuries of the nervous system in children lead to a high degree of disability with a subsequent restriction of their life, where social maladaptation and a violation of the quality of life are the primary problems. An integrated approach with differentiated qualified help will increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs and help the children adapt when they return to their normal environment. To identify the characteristics of mental activity during the recovery of the level of consciousness in children after acute severe brain damage at an early stage of rehabilitation. We examined 210 children under the age of 18 years with severe brain damage (traumatic brain injury, hypoxia, hydrocephalus) who were admitted for treatment and rehabilitation. Clinical-psychopathological, pedagogical methods were used for examination as well as diagnostic scales, questionnaires. The main differentiating signs were divided into three groups, depending on the mental activity of the child, the level of consciousness: Group 1 - 37 (18%) patients with mental activity with physical, cognitive and social abilities with the minimal '+' consciousness (a-/hyperkinetic mutism with emotional reactions, understanding of speech); 2-nd group - 67 (32%) patients with dominant manifestations of physical and cognitive abilities with the minimal '-' consciousness (a-/hyperkinetic mutism without emotional manifestations and understanding of speech); 3rd group - 106 (50%) children with a weak manifestation of mental activity (physical abilities) in a vegetative status/exit from a vegetative status. Three variants of mental activity in children after acute severe brain injuries were distinguished - from minimal involuntary reactions or their absence during the vegetative status/exit from the vegetative status to arbitrary actions according to the instructions of an adult with a minimum '+' consciousness. Understanding the dynamics of the recovery of children's mental activity after neurotrauma may make it possible to have a differentiated approach to psychiatric, psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation in order to correct the recovery of mental functions in pediatric patients, and to prevent the developmental disorders as the child grows.

Abstract
 The aim of the study was to develop an algorithm for the interaction between an audiologist and speech-language therapist in initial amplification for hearing impaired children.
 Methods. 219 children aged 2 months to 16 years with hearing impairments were divided into 2 groups. The experimental group consisted of children who got a special course of medical, psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation at the stage of initial fitting, based on the new algorithm of interdisciplinary interaction between an audiologist and a speech-language therapist. The control group included children with traditional procedure of hearing aids fitting, in which the audiologist didnt interact with the speech therapist.
 Results. An algorithm for the interaction of an audiologist and speech-language therapist included 3 stages of hearing aids fitting (preparation, initial fitting, adaptation and fine tuning of hearing aids), the tasks of each specialist at these stages were identified, including the parents involvement in the process of fitting, a development of the protocol for the exchange of information between specialists. The algorithm was implemented in a special course of medical-psychological-pedagogical rehabilitation in the Center of Pediatric Audiology. It was found that in 1 month after the primary fitting among children who underwent this course, significantly more children used hearing aids for more than 8 hours a day and reached the integral criterion of effective hearing aids fitting compared with the control group. These children also took less time to adjust their hearing aid settings during repeated fitting sessions.
 Conclusion. A structured interdisciplinary interaction between an audiologist and speech-language therapist at the stage of initial amplification significantly increases the effectiveness of medical technology for restoring hearing function in children.

Aims of study. The aim of this study was to investigate the theoretical foundations of psychological support for women in childbirth during midwifery activities.
 Results. An important condition for increasing the efficiency of the treatment process is not only taking into account the patient’s psychological peculiarities, but also providing psychological support to patients during medical care, in particular midwifery activity. Research on different aspects of psychological support is noted in the works of domestic and foreign psychologists who reveal the humanistic ideas of personal development interaction, requiring building a subject-subject relationship in the process of communication. A number of publications are presented in the modern literature concerning the role of psychological support in professional midwifery activities. According to the authors, this area is an important professional responsibility of obstetrician service staff. A special role is played by the psychological support of patients during childbirth. The relationship of the characteristics of the birth process with the emotional state of mothers is noted in modern literature. Psychological support for women in childbirth should be given with the knowledge of the patients’ specific psychological characteristics in this period. The state of consciousness of a woman in childbirth is one of the important psychological factors that require the attention of medical personnel. The altered state of consciousness (ASC) in childbirth, which has an adaptive role, is important for both active labor and reducing pain sensitivity in childbirth. A maladaptive ASC, on the contrary, interferes with the birth process and increase pain sensitivity. Depending on the activity, the psychological component of the generic dominant will manifest itself in an adaptive or maladaptive ASC, with psychological support for women during childbirth contributing to the activation of an adaptive ASC.
 Conclusion. Analysis of the psychological characteristics of women during childbirth showed the importance of considering the state of consciousness of the patient and the activity of the psychological component of the generic dominant when determining the strategy of psychological support.

This research analyzes the potential of Biophilic design as a sustainable healing technique in rehabilitation centers situated in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. Drawing from the rich biodiversity and cultural past of the region, Biophilic design concepts are investigated as a technique to boost the physical and mental well-being of patients undergoing rehabilitation. By integrating natural components and patterns into the constructed environment, rehabilitation institutions can provide therapeutic places favorable to healing and recovery. In the context of rehabilitation institutions, adopting Biophilic design concepts can provide several benefits to patients, including stress reduction, enhanced mood, and speedier recovery. This paper presents strategies for applying Biophilic design in the Niger Delta’s rehabilitation centers and examines the socio-environmental benefits of such an approach.

Psychological distress is common among intensive care unit (ICU) patients, yet current pharmacological approaches carry risks. The aim of this study was to survey ICU clinicians' perceptions of psychological stressors affecting patients, their coping strategies, and the perceived feasibility, benefits, and challenges of implementing virtual reality (VR) interventions in ICU settings. A dual-method cross-sectional survey was distributed to ICU clinicians in Australia and New Zealand between March and May 2025. The survey comprised 5-point Likert-scale and open-ended questions exploring three domains: (i) perceived psychological stressors in ICU patients; (ii) current practices and perceived effectiveness of psychological support interventions, including VR; and (iii) perceived barriers and design recommendations for VR implementation in the ICU. Quantitative data were analysed descriptively; qualitative responses underwent thematic analysis using the NVivo software. Among 143 valid respondents (125 completed), 56.6% were female; 48.3 % were nurses, 46.9% doctors, and 4.8% allied health professionals. Lack of sleep (median: 5 [4-5]), isolation (median: 4 [3-4]), temporal disorientation (median: 4 [3.5-4]), and sensory overload (median: 4 [4-5]) were rated as key stressors. Pharmacological, family communication, and maintaining a calm environment were the most implemented and effective interventions (median: 4 [4-4]). Engagement activities were infrequent, but structured communication with family was rated important (median: 4 [4-5]). The interventions listening to music, watching family videos, and viewing nature scenes (median: 4 [3-4.5]) closely followed. VR was seen as moderately familiar (median: 3 [2-3]) and moderately beneficial (median: 3 [3-4]) but difficult to implement (median: 3 [3-4]). ICU clinicians recommended that the VR content should be personalised, simple, safe, and supporting both patients' emotional needs and ICU workflow integration. ICU clinicians acknowledge the perceived psychological burden of ICU environments and engagement activities were infrequent in ICU patients. They express cautious optimism towards VR as a supportive tool. However, successful implementation requires addressing significant logistical, clinical, and educational barriers.

This study assessed the juvenile delinquency intervention programs in Barangay Tibal-og, Municipality of Santo Tomas, Davao del Norte, to inform enhanced strategies for addressing youth crime. It utilized qualitative approaches such as in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis to analyze the experiences, insights, and recommendations of program stakeholders. Eight themes emerged regarding experiences, highlighting procedural equity, trust-building, and individual growth. The insights on implementation revealed five key themes, emphasizing effective interventions and collaborative efforts. The recommendations highlighted on establishing separate detention centers, allocating adequate resources and rehabilitation centers, enhancing parental awareness, and adhering to guidelines. The study further stressed the significance of the guidelines and assisting with current programs, while pressing for more resources and rehabilitation institutions. Parental awareness had a crucial role in avoiding and dealing with delinquency, coupled with community engagement and the development of positive values. The results concluded the need for continuous improvements in the juvenile justice system, promoting cooperation among all involved and implementing strategies that are supported by empirical facts. By utilizing these observations, communities can aim for fairer and more efficient actions, promoting safer surroundings and more promising prospects for vulnerable young individuals.

BackgroundAlthough it is a preventable disease, malaria continues to present one of the major global health challenges. The disease is especially deadly to children under the age of 5 years. This is partly due to the fact that they have yet to build up an immune system to help protect them against malaria. As a prevention strategy, music is one way of communicating knowledge to young children and could therefore potentially be used to change children’s behaviour in order to avoid getting sick from malaria. This exploratory study aimed to compare intervention strategies designed to educate and improve knowledge growth about malaria and its prevention in Grade 3 learners in a high-risk malaria region in Vhembe District, Limpopo Province, South Africa.MethodsVarious intervention strategies were employed and evaluated to determine the most effective intervention method. The study was split into two Phases. Phase 1 used a culturally and age-appropriate song as an intervention, along with a drama piece, a song and drama piece combination, and a control group. The most effective intervention strategy determined during Phase 1 was then subjected to Phase 2, against a control group to validate its efficacy. Questionnaires were used during pre-intervention and post-intervention interviews to evaluate the knowledge growth, if any, of the learners of selected primary schools in two different areas in Vhembe District. Pre-intervention interviews were followed by a specific intervention, based on the respective study groups. After 6 weeks, the post-intervention interviews were done to determine how much learners managed to learn and retain from the intervention received.ResultsThe study found that the group that had only the song as intervention was the most effective learning intervention method in both Phases 1 and 2. Both phases showed that there was statistical significance in almost all of the nine questions asked on the questionnaires.ConclusionsThe study concluded that a culturally and age-appropriate song can play a significant role in developing behavioural changes and spreading awareness against disease in a high-risk malaria region.
