An empirical investigation on factors affecting software developer acceptance and utilization of electronic process guides

The application of IT has changed the form of strategic business management, manufacturing, financial situation, the ways and processes to work and become an important condition for the operation of companies and organizations, especially with the state organizations. In recent years, the application of BMS in the budget management in the financial agencies has been interested in and developed by the Ministry of Finance. However it also has a lot of difficulties and obstacles. Some of those dificulties are: the attitude and the intensional behaviour of users with BMS. So that, the main purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the premises to attitudes and intentions of the user with BMS. Specifically, studies on the relationship between Encouragement by others and system quality with perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use with Attitude toward using, and then the behavior intention to use. In this study, in order to examine proposed model, I conducted a survey by delivering and sending directly, sending email questionnaires to 220 finance managers and staff in some provinces, namely Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh. After eliminating poor quality responses, I selected out 162 effective samples. The results indicated that encouragement by others and BMS quality can significantly affect perceived ease of use BMS. Encouragement by others and perceived ease of use BMS can significantly affect perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use BMS and perceived usefulness are significant antecedents of attitude toward use BMS. Then perceived usefulness and attitude toward use BMS can significantly affect behavior intention to use BMS. Finally, this study found no support for the hypothesized effect of BMS system quality to perceived usefulness to use BMS.

Numerous Vietnamese banks have launched online banking services to offer improved service to existing customers and attract new ones. Apart from the traditional type of banking services, customers today require more personalized products and services, and access to such services at any time, and at any place. Although there is no panacea for banks to stay competitive, Internet banking (IB) is one of the advanced information technologies they can employ to achieve a high level of customer services. IB is an emerging technology that permits conduct of banking transactions through the Internet. IB provides real time information, enabling timely fund management decisions. Simultaneously, banks can more easily retain existing customers as well as providing services to customers without constraints of time and place. IB provides a very convenient and effective method of managing personal finances since it is easily accessible 24 hour a day and seven days a week. This study investigates customer’s intention of using IB system between 4 different banking. A research framework based on the extension of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Theory was developed to identify factors that would influence customer’s intention of use IB system. The framework includes trust, computer self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and intention of using IB system. This study was conducted a survey by giving the questionnaire to customer who have bank account in 4 banks: Agribank, Vietinbank, HSBC and Vietcombank. The data obtain through conducting a survey will be analyzed by various techniques such as descriptive analysis to provide the information regarding the respondent’s gender, age, education degree, occupation…, then using Cronbach’s α, regression analysis, t-test to examine the correlation between each variable and observe the different point of view related to the respondent’s demographic profile. The data obtained through the research’s instrument shows that most of the hypotheses proposed in this study are supported, except the hypothesis about the impact of Computer self-efficacy on Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use. The results of this study provided strong, substantial evidence that Trust play significant roles in influencing the intention of using IB directly and indirectly. Perceived Usefulness has significant positive effect on intention of using IB system, this result supports the extension of the Technology Acceptance Model. Perceived ease of use has significant indirect effect on intention of using IB system in the future through perceived usefulness, while its direct effect on intention of using IB system in the present. Theoretical contributions and practical implications of the findings are discussed and suggestions for future research are presented.

This research aims was to measure and analyze user acceptance of Sistem Informasi Koperasi (Siskop) in Koperasi Karyawan Budi Setia Jakarta, using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This research is quantitative research. Meanwhile, according to the the characteristics of the problem, this research included in exploratory research, descriptive research, and explanatory research. The data used in this research are primary data and secondary data, collected using several data collection techniques, such as observation, questionnaires, document review, and literature review. The variables in this research are independent variables; perceived ease of use - PEOU, intervening variables; perceived of usefullness - PU, attitude toward using - ATU, and behavioral intention to use - BIU, and the dependent variable; actual use - AU. Processing and analysis of data in this research was using descriptive statistics analysis and simple linear regression analysis, which done by the support of the Application SPSS version 21 for Windows. The results of this research are as follows 1) perceived ease of use have given positive and significant influence to perceived usefulness and attitude toward using Siskop; 2) perceived usefulness Siskop given positive and significant influence to attitude toward using Siskop, behavioral intention to use, and actual Siskop use; 3) attitude towards using Siskop positive and significant influence to behavioral intention to use Siskop. However 4) behavioral intention to use Siskop did not has a signicant influences to actual Siskop use.

Based on a Technology Acceptance Model, this study investigates and increases the understanding of how perceived technological attributes (perceived technological implicitness and compatibility) and internal beliefs (perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use) will influence the behavioral intention of accepting licensing in new technology. This study adopts the Structural Equation Modeling approach. Based on the 244 correspondents from Taiwan's four high technology industries, 63% of the variance of licensees' behavioral intention can be accounted for by perceived usefulness, perceived technological implicitness, and compatibility in one theoretical mediate model. However, the evidence from Taiwan's 95 biotechnology companies indicates that 64% of the variance of behavioral intention can be explained by an alternative theoretical mediate and moderate model that consists of perceived technological compatibility, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use.

In the digital era, e-learning have become a trend in the universities. However, it is still important to understand how to improve the usage of e-learning of university students. The aim of the research is to construct a theoretical model about the antecedent variables of intention to use e-campus of university students. The model combines perceived usefulness, perceived ease of usefulness, perceived playfulness, and intention to use e-learning. Samples were selected from the students of Chung-Hua university. 205 effective questionnaires were collected. Structural equation model's technique is used to test the model and three hypotheses. The findings showed that: (1) perceived ease of use has significantly positive influence on intention to use e-learning. (2) perceived usefulness has significantly positive influence on intention to use e-learning.(3) perceived playfulness has significantly positive influence on perceived usefulness. The findings of the study will offer references to the teachers and e-learning system designers and propose some future research directions.

This paper describes a laboratory experiment which evaluates OO-method function points for the Web. OOmFPWeb measures the functional size of Web applications using conceptual models that are developed with object-oriented Web solutions (OOWS), an automated software production method for Web applications. OOmFPWeb is evaluated on a range of performance-based and perception-based variables, including efficiency, reproducibility, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and intention to use. The results show that OOmFPWeb is efficient when compared to current industry practices. Furthermore, the method produces consistent functional size assessments and is perceived to be easy to use and useful by its users.

According to Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), the gradual popularity of the Internet and on-line shopping causes Taiwan’s online shopping market to grow by 20% annually. Moreover, the Dept. of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs predicts that the yield of Taiwan’s on-line shopping market will be up to NTD 1 trillion in 2015. Apparently, online shopping market is worth studying in every way. If a manager of e-Commerce website intends to be successful in the market, it is necessary for this individual to comprehend the key factors to increasing consumers’ use of online shopping. In other words, the understanding of consumers’ online shopping behavior will benefit the corporations and improve their competitiveness in the market. Therefore, this study is aimed at discussing the following three issues: 1.How does the perceived ease of use of online shopping and the perceived usefulness affect consumers’ attitude toward online shopping respectively? 2.How does consumers’ attitude toward online shopping affect their behavioral intention of online shopping? 3.How does subjective norms affect consumers’ attitude toward online shopping and their behavioral intention of online shopping? After analyzing the data collected through questionnaire survey, this study concludes its results as follows: 1.In Taiwan’s online shopping market, both the perceived ease of use and the perceived usefulness of online shopping have a significant impact on consumers’ attitude toward online shopping. 2.In Taiwan’s online shopping market, consumers’ attitude toward online shopping has a positive and significant impact on their behavioral intention. 3.To consumers on the island, subjective norms have a positive impact on consumers’ attitude toward online shopping and their behavioral intention.

User Interface between user and information systems has a great role in system adoption. Based on technology acceptance model, acceptance of a system is explained as a function of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Since there are several external variables that have an impact on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, the content and interface design of every single application should be addressed accordingly to enhance users' intention to use the system. We propose that adding adaptive features into systems may be one of the approaches to address this phenomenon. This paper identifies external variables including adaptive behavior impacting acceptance of mobile reservation system through two prototypes.

This thesis is concerned with the role played by software tools in the analysis and dissemination of linguistic corpora and their contribution to a more widespread adoption of corpora in different fields. Chapter 1 contains an overview of some of the most relevant corpus analysis tools available today, presenting their most interesting features and some of their drawbacks. Chapter 2 begins with an explanation of the reasons why none of the available tools appear to satisfy the requirements of the user community and then continues with technical overview of the current status of the new system developed as part of this work. This presentation is followed by highlights of features that make the system appealing to users and corpus builders (i.e. scholars willing to make their corpora available to the public). The chapter concludes with an indication of future directions for the projects and information on the current availability of the software. Chapter 3 describes the design of an experiment devised to evaluate the usability of the new system in comparison to another corpus tool. Usage of the tool was tested in the context of a documentation task performed on a real assignment during a translation class in a master's degree course. In chapter 4 the findings of the experiment are presented on two levels of analysis: firstly a discussion on how participants interacted with and evaluated the two corpus tools in terms of interface and interaction design, usability and perceived ease of use. Then an analysis follows of how users interacted with corpora to complete the task and what kind of queries they submitted. Finally, some general conclusions are drawn and areas for future work are outlined.

This study aimed to analyze the effect of relevance, perceive usefulness and perceive ease of use on attitudes towards using information system services provided by e-Dishub Surabaya, especially on KIR test information content at PKB Tandes UPTD region. This study used quantitative method with a questionnaire for data collection. Sample in this study was the people who were doing KIR testat UPTD PKB Tandeswith total of 100 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Results showed that all hypotheses proposed were supported. Means that relevance, perceive usefulness, perceive ease of use have significant effect, partially and simultaneously, on attitude towards using e-Dishub application.

Recently, the awareness of the importance of distributed software development has been growing in the software engineering community. Economic constraints, more and more outsourcing of development activities, and the increasing geographical distribution of companies come along with challenges of how to organize distributed development.In this article, we reason that a common process understanding is mandatory for successful distributed development. Integrated process planning, guidance and enactment are seen as enabling technologies for achieving a unique process view.We present an overview of the software process modeling environment SPEARMINT and the XCHIPS system for web‐based process support. SPEARMINT offers extensive capabilities for multi‐view modeling and analysis of software development processes. XCHIPS provides capabilities for distributed modeling and offers enactment and simulation functionalities. This article describes the integration of both approaches. The resulting environment provides planners and developers with collaborative planning and enactment support and advanced process guidance via electronic process guides (EPGs). Additionally, experience with the integrated environment is described. We describe, in particular, the usage of this integrated environment in the context of a case study for the development of a learning system. This study aims to determine the optimal digital literacy possessed by Acces by KAI users and the user interface on train ticket purchase decisions with perceived ease of use as an intervening variable for Millennial and Z Generation Acces by KAI Users in Pasuruan Regency. The sampling technique used is a non-probability sampling method with a puposive sampling sub-technique with a total of 96 respondents. respondents obtained from online questionnaires covering respondents in Pasuruan Regency. This research method uses quantitative methods by analyzing data using descriptive analysis techniques and Path Analysis tests with the help of SPSS version 22. From the results of the study it can be concluded that from the results of the t test, Digital Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Perceive Ease Of Use, User Interface has a positive and significant effect on Perceive Ease Of Use, Digital Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Purchasing Decisions, User Interface has no effect on Purchasing Decisions, Perceive Ease Of Use has a positive and significant effect on Purchasing Decisions. Based on the Sobel Test, Digital Literacy affects Purchasing Decisions through Perceive Ease Of Use as an intervening variable, User Interface affects Purchasing Decisions through Perceive Ease Of Use as an intervening variable.

Background: Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a collection of physical, psychological and behavioral changes that can be experienced by women of reproductive age. School adolescents who experience PMS symptoms can have an impact on school activities and daily life. One of the efforts to overcome it is through health education about PMS. Health education innovation in adolescents can be done with the use of social media. Social media that can be used as a means of sharing information is Facebook. Objective: This study aims to know the relationship between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of Facebook for health education about PMS. Method: Analytic study research design with a cross section approach. The research variable was the perception of ease of use and usefulness of Facebook as a medium of health education about PMS. The population was 320 school teenagers and the samples were taken by purposive sampling as many as 77 school teenagers who experienced PMS symptoms and had received PMS health education on Facebook. The research data were taken using a questionnaire of perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) and analyzed using a descriptive and contingency coefficient. Results: Facebook was considered easy (63.6%) to be used for health education about PMS and Facebook was considered useful (57.1%) as a medium for health education about PMS. There was a significant relationship between perceived ease of use and usefulness of Facebook as a medium for health education about PMS (pvalue=0,017 ) with a correlation coefficient value of 0.263 indicating that the correlation is weak. Conclusion: Perceived ease of use was related to the perceived usefulness of Facebook. Facebook was easy to use and useful for health education about PMS. Facebook was effective and useful for learning about PMS. Social media can be a medium for health education and help improve the health of school adolescents who experience PMS.

In response to Deming's arguments and in light of perception that software industry is unable to produce quality products on schedule, and within budget, more software development organisations are now emphasising process measurement, monitoring, and assessment. This paper describes what is meant by software process and discusses an approach for its measurement and improvement. INTRODUCTION Unreliable software makes big news, from emergency services disasters to social security payment blunders. Improved software quality is essential to ensure reliable products and services, and gain customer satisfaction. While software development has existed for more than four decades, we failed so far to make as an industry and as an engineering discipline rather than craft. Developing reliable and usable software that is delivered on and within budget still represents difficult endeavour for many organisations. As role of software becomes increasingly critical for businesses as well as for human lives, problems caused by software products that are late, over budget, or that do not work, become magnified. If lives are lost or people inconvenienced due to incapable computer software, news media is there to make big stories. Organisations are realising that their fundamental problems is immaturity of their software process. Robert Lai (1993) proposes that process improvement is second maturity wave of software industry. He states that the first wave of software was developed using waterfall model in 1970's. Taking lead in this area has been Watts Humphrey (Humphrey 1989, 1990, 1991), and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. SEI started in 1986 to develop process maturity framework to help organisations appraise maturity of their software process, and to provide guidance for organisations to improve their software process capability. A brief description of framework was released in September 1987, including maturity questionnaire. SEI evolved model and questionnaire into 5 -Level Capability Maturity Model (CMM) in 1991. In February 1993, released CMM version 1.1 (Paulk et al 1993). This paper discusses software process and describes capability maturity model (CMM). It also shows how CMM can be used as basis to measure maturity of software process of an organisation and plan its improvement. THE SOFTWARE PROCESS Adopting process view of software development represents revolutionary change in perspective. A process orientation to software development involves elements of structure, focus, measurement, ownership, skills, and supporting technology. In this section we investigate what is meant by software process. What Is Software Process According to Webster's dictionary, process is a system of operations in producing something .. series of actions, changes, or functions that achieve an end result. Chambers Concise Dictionary defines process as a series of actions or events .. sequence of operations or changes undergone. IEEE defines process as a sequence of steps performed for given purpose. In general business context, process is defined as a structured, measured set of activities designed to produce specified output for particular customer or market (Davenport 1993). These definitions put strong emphasis on HOW work is done, in contrast to product focus's emphasis on WHAT. Accordingly, process can be considered as a specific ordering of work activities across and place, with beginning, an end, and clearly identified inputs and outputs: structure for action. Successful software organisations have learned that even best professionals need structured and disciplined environment in which to do cooperative work. Software organisations that do not establish such disciplines condemn their people to endless hours of repetitively solving technically trivial problems. obvious fact is that attracting best people is vital, but is also essential to support them with an effectively managed software process. This is not only wrong, but is dangerous. Organisations which jumped on bandwagon of CASE tools, and ended up in failure and wasted and effort have learned their lesson hard way. Just ask yourself before introducing technology: What do I want to automate? In absence of defined, practised, and managed process, introducing automation can lead to increased chaos. There are several factors which limit effective use of software technology: an illdefined process, inconsistent process implementation, and poor process management. Software technology cannot be fully effective until these problems have been properly addressed. Need for Defined Process If no effort is made to define and enhance software development process across whole organisation, each software development project latches on to its own tools, methods, and practices with little guidance available on how to use them. This ad hoc approach will not be sufficient to tackle task of developing complex software systems. goal of software process management is to enable organisations to produce software that meets cost, schedules, and quality objectives. principles are same that underpins statistical process control-principles that have been successfully used in controlling scientific experiments and in high -volume manufacturing operations. Statistical concepts have been found to be just as applicable to software development as they are to production of manufactured goods such as motor cars. Applying such concepts will only be possible if there is defined and managed process. The incorporation of electronic technologies in educational institutions has demonstrated enhancements within the South African setting. This facilitated the transition from traditional pedagogical approaches to online and mixed formats. A comprehensive examination into the issues affecting the implementation of e-learning in secondary schools within the Gauteng North District has not yet been conducted. Research on educators' viewpoints regarding the determinants affecting the execution of e-learning in secondary school is scarce. This study aimed to investigate educators' views on the implementation of e-learning in secondary schools across the Gauteng Province, specifically in the Johannesburg North area. The study utilised the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as its theoretical foundation. A quantitative methodology was employed, involving 220 participants from 44 secondary schools in the Johannesburg North district who completed a questionnaire. The study employed a frequency distribution model to classify variables for respondent profiling. The questionnaire utilised a five-point Likert scale, ranging from "agree" to "strongly disagree." Data were analysed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The research hypothesis was examined using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed for each research item. The results demonstrate that perceived ease of use (PEU) and computer experience are critical determinants influencing the uptake of e-learning in secondary education. The research identified that the primary determinants affecting teachers' acceptance of e-learning in secondary schools within the Johannesburg North District are perceived ease of use and computer proficiency, therefore enhancing the current body of knowledge. This study illustrates that the perceived ease of use of technological systems substantially impacts the intention to adopt e-learning in South Africa, more so than perceived usefulness, as delineated by the TAM framework.
