Automatic coal mine disaster monitoring system based spatial information service

Due to the problems and characteristics of traditional slope disaster monitoring, including static, intermittent, offline, easy interference, easy failure, full labor, etc., the three technologies of the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and the Kalman filtering model are now applied to slope disaster, and a set of automatic monitoring and early warning platform system suitable for the characteristics of slope disaster is developed. Through the platform, realize the visualization, continuous, real-time online, interference avoidance, no failure, and automatic monitoring methods, to meet the requirements of the accuracy, timeliness, and intelligence of the early warning and forecast of the monitoring objects, The collection, transmission, processing, early warning, and forecast of the monitoring data are all completed by the automatic monitoring system. We provide reasonable and reliable early warning and prediction threshold values and calculation methods, accurately determine the slope engineering early warning threshold value, and realize the prediction of the development trends of the monitoring data. Meanwhile, according to the size of the monitoring data and its changing trend, we also determine the early warning level and warn accordingly, and standardized the early warning and disposal process including the expert-assisted decision-making system, fast, timely, multichannel information release, and early warning disposal.

The non-weighing lysimeter system in the Minqin desert areas was firstly used in the 1970 s, and mainly performed the orientation research on the water consumption by the transpiration of several desert plants and the evaporation on the surface of sand, which aimed to provide the theoretical guide for the selection of afforestation density and the utilization of sand and water in Chinese sand areas. At present the system has been running for 30 years, most of the lysimeters showed the jam and leakage phenomenon, and the observation was by conventional artificial means. All the factors seriously affected the accuracy of the data monitoring. However, on the basis of the non-weighing lysimeter system structure and its testing principle, the evapotranspiration area could be extended, the capacity of testing soil column could be increased, more real natural environment conditions could be simulated and the limitations of weighing lysimeter could be overcome, in sum, the lysimeter's application field and adaptability were extended. Owing to the problems of low automation, and lack of scalability and reliability, the non-weighed lysimeter monitoring and control system in the Minqin desert areas has been retrofitted to improve its performance based on structure characteristics. The non-weighed lysimeter proving ground of 720 m2was designed in Minqin sand areas, where 30 individual lysimeters (120 cm×120 cm) of desert plant were upgraded and 12 small groups of desert plant lysimeters (400 cm×400 cm) were expanded and built, at the same time, the lysimeter groups in different types could be used to carry out the test of water supply for plant under the constant water level of 190, 290 and 390 cm. The lysimeter proving ground upgraded and expanding-built could realize synchronous observation for evapotranspiration test from the desert plant individual scale to small group scale, and the experiment platform was provided for studying water consumption of desert plants transpiration in different scale and its coupling relationship. The distributed monitoring scheme was adopted in the new automatic monitoring system, in which the superior industrial computer was set up as the center with multiple lower machine monitoring points, such as lysimeter constant water level control and water-supplying measurement system, drainage measurement system, atmospheric precipitation monitoring system, soil moisture monitoring system, environment temperature measurement and control system, SMS cat alarm system, data remote transmission and monitoring system, and UPS over-voltage protection system, and the RS485 bus, ISM wireless communication and TCP/IP network structure were used in the system. The automatic control of the lysimeter water level, water supply and drainage, the automatic monitoring of water metering, and the soil water content were designed, and the atmospheric rainfall and the temperature indoor were monitored in real time in the new system; the system also had the functions of real-time data collection and processing, information communication and data entering, historical data storage, data report printing and remote transmission download, and the power supply system was protected against over-voltage to enhance the reliability of system operation and the stability of data acquisition. Additionally, the internet-based remote monitoring and control system was used, and the users could process the abnormal situation. According to the monitoring data analysis by the regression method, we could know that the errors of data regression analysis were ± 2.2% for the pressure sensor, ± 2.0% for the drop counter and ± 12.5% for the moisture sensors. The research extended the scale for locating observation of the desert plant and implemented the automatic monitoring for evapotranspiration of the desert plant. © 2015, Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering. The demands for increasingly new spatial information application are becoming a social and economic imperative in many urban today. Urban spatial information platform is an important part of geospatial fundamental framework construction in digital city as an integrated shared environment. There requires novel technologies for urban construction, planning, even a higher level scientific support. Web services have received much interest in industry due to their potential in facilitating seamless business-to-business or enterprise application integration. So this paper focused on urban spatial information platform construction on the basis of a variety of geographic information services and data services. Spatial information service and spatial information platform are discussed, and integrated spatial information platform is proposed. An approach to achieve spatial information sharing is presented, and we also talked our related works. At last we draw our conclusion.

The application of fabricated segmental lining in deeply buried inclined shafts in complex strata has been significantly increased in recent years. However, the structural safety of the fabricated lining is vulnerable to high ground stress and high water pressure, as well as the vibration of mechanical equipment and ground disturbance caused by coal mining. Thus, applying an automatic load-monitoring system to the inclined shaft in coal mines has great engineering importance in evaluating structural safety. In this study, an automatic monitoring and data transmission system for the inclined shaft was developed. In addition, by considering the non-linear characteristics of segment joints and different working states of concrete segments, a more functional assessment method was proposed based on the limit state assessment theory. According to the in situ monitoring project in the number 2 inclined shaft of Bulianta coal mine in China, the calculated internal forces are in good agreement with the monitored data, and the proposed assessment method shows reliable results during the operation period.

Recently, market of mobile spatial information service is increasing along with enlargement of geo-spatial information utilization area and spread of smartphone. In particular, smartphone users look forward to utilizing spatial information service more easily and conveniently. Korea has the potential for spatial information technology development, but does not have enough governmental support to develop various spatial information service in mobile network environment. Hence, it is need to make governmental support plans for utilizing mobile services and promoting the related industry base on mobile spatial information. In this paper, we propose governmental action plans for utilizing mobile services and promoting the related industry by surveying mobile application/web services and analyzing demands of mobile spatial information experts.

최근 들어 일반인의 공간정보 활용에 대한 수요가 증대되고 있는 가운데, 토지피복지도를 비롯한 국가공간정보의 구축이 증대되고 있다. 그러나 일반인을 대상으로 한 공간정보서비스가 미비하여 일반인의 공간정보 활용 증대를 기대하기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 교육용 지리부도를 통해 우리에게 익숙한 아틀라스의 개념을 적용하여 일반인의 토지피복지도 활용을 증진할 수 있는 공간정보서비스 방안을 제안하였다. 이를 위해서 국내 토지피복지도의 활용 현황 및 해외사례를 검토하여 콘텐츠, 사용자, 활용 시스템의 측면에서 토지피복지도를 활용한 공간정보서비스의 개선 방향을 설정하고, 이를 보완할 수 있도록 아틀라스 개념을 기반으로 하는 아틀라스정보시스템의 특성과 기능을 정의하였으며, 환경공간정보서비스 제공 방안을 제시하였다. 이는 토지피복지도 뿐만 아니라 다양한 국가공간정보에 적용 가능하므로 일반인의 국가공간정보 활용 증진에 기여할 수 있다. Recently, tthe general users' demand on utilizing spatial information and the establishment of national spatial data such as land cover map are increasingly growing. But the lack of spatial information service for the general public is making it difficult for them to use spatial information and services. In this study, spatial information service strategies based on the concept of atlas, which is familiar to us through the student atlas, were proposed to promote the public users' utilization of land cover map. For this purpose, I reviewed current domestic status and overseas cases of land cover map service and proposed the future direction of spatial information service for land cover map in terms of contents, users, and system. Finally, I defined the basic concept, characteristics and functions of the Atlas Information System and recommended strategies for environmental spatial information service. The results of this study can be applied to various national spatial information as well as land cover map and contribute to the increase of general public users' utilization of national spatial data.

Application of a fully automatic analysis tool to assess the activity of broiler chickens with different gait scores

We proposed a completely unconstrained method for long-term monitoring sleep quality of residents in nursing homes using an Internet-based automatic sleep monitoring system, Umemory. When a resident lies in bed, his/her heart pulsation, respiration, and body movement are sensed by a piezoelectric transducer under a mattress. The corresponding digital signal is sent to database servers via Internet, and further processed in the servers. 1090 days' data from 13 subjects in 2 nursing homes were obtained by this system for evaluation. Through comparing with records provided by nursing home staff, we found that this system could provide detailed information about the nursing home residents' sleep quality. Furthermore, the analysis result provided information such as in-bed body movement and sleep quality, which was unable to be constantly observed by nursing home staff at all. Therefore, it is concluded that our method may serve as an effective and convenient tool for automatic monitoring nursing home residents' sleep quality. This system may also lessen the burden of nursing home staff and be used to optimize personal specific healthcare service.

With the spatial information’s continuous expansion and increased popularity, the amount of the spatial information grow explosively, and the current services have not meet the needs of accessing to and processing spatial information. This thesis starts with the grid technology, doing researches to services oriented spatial information grid technology, focusing on the basic model and security of grid, and researching on the spatial information grid which has the capacity of on-demand services, as well as can integrated organize and coordination process massive of distributed spatial information resources. At last, this thesis proposes a spatial information service architecture design model based on the environment of grid, and has carried on the preliminary discussion to the grid spatial information service, as well as has implemented a simple grid services model.

Evaluation of MS Kinect for Elderly Meal Intake Monitoring

Precision agriculture (PA) is an approach in farming systems based on information and technology to enhance agricultural production. PA is applied in plant factories to produce high-quality vegetables in a controlled environment by implementing an automatic crop growth monitoring system. Optimization of the observation process carried out with computer system techniques used in the monitoring process and assessment of the plant condition. Individual observation of cultivated plants requires a monitoring system and numerous equipment. Therefore, a monitoring system equipped with a mobile mechanism is needed to support the monitoring process of crops individually by a single observer. The objective of this study was to design and implement an automatic plant monitoring system based on mobile mechanisms and computer vision using simple equipment in plant factories. The Mobile Mecavision, a monitoring system consists of a mobility system and an image acquisition system controlled by Raspberry Pi. The components are A4988, NEMA 17, and Logitech C270 HD Webcam. The evaluation for system performance carried out using the extreme point shift system and t-test. The aspect of image functionality evaluated using the Structural Similarity Measure test and the result was obtained an image similarity value of 89% to 92% with a 90% level of confidence. The result of the performance test on the mobility aspect obtained that the system shifted numerically but not statistically. The overall performance of the system indicated that the monitoring system could be applied to monitor the crop growth in plant factories.

An automatic monitoring technique of the seepage line, including the monitoring design, the automatic monitoring system and the backfill technique of the measuring probe of pore-water pressure, was used in a tailings dam, and a shallow refractive seismic method was investigated for obtaining the seepage line of those areas outside the monitoring zone. The results show that the automatic monitoring has the error within ±3% relative to piezometric tube method and improves monitoring efficiency greatly, and the shallow refractive seismic method has the error within ±10% but expands the area of monitoring. Both of them can be used for a daily measurement in monitoring the seepage line. The result of the automatic monitoring also shows that not only the design of the survey line and the backfill technique of the measuring probe of pore-water pressure are reasonable and economic but also the reliability and safety of the automatic monitoring system are better. Testing result by the shallow refractive seismic method in tailings reveals that the energy excited by hammering iron sheet-pole is strong enough and safe, and that the character of anti-jamming by the detectors with long tailcone is better.

Data transmission about ground automatic disaster monitoring system in mine is the key technology link. A method based on data transmission system is proposed, which combined Ethernet technology of wire communication and WiFi technology of wireless communication in mine. The system implements a variety of functions including automatic acquisition of deformation monitoring data, remote real-time transmission, and so on. Through systematic research and practical application on the selection of data communication mode, system structure, key technology and so on, it indicates the system is reliable and maintainable, which provides the technical support for mine's safety and high-efficient production.

The automatic vibration monitoring methods of gears and gearboxes due to their extensive applications in industry are improving. Hence, their vibration signal and its derived features, has been an interesting topic for researchers in this field. On the other hand, optimizing the number of vibration signal features used in the detection and diagnosis process is crucial for increasing the fault detection speed of automatic condition monitoring systems. In this paper, a system based on multiple layer perceptron artificial neural networks (MLP ANNs) is designed to diagnose different types of fault in a gearbox. Using a feature selection method, the system is optimized through eliminating unimportant features of vibration signals. This method is based on a simple and fast sensitivity evaluation process, which results in a considerable estimation, despite its simplicity. Consequently, the system’s speed increases, while the classification error decreases or remains constant in some other cases. An experimental test rig data set is used to verify the effectiveness and accuracy of the mentioned method. Four different types of data which are generated through the test rig setup are: no fault condition, 5% fault (5% eroded tooth) gear, 20% eroded tooth gear and the broken tooth gear. The results verify that eliminating some input features of gear vibration signal, using this method, will increase the accuracy and detection speed of gear fault diagnosis methods. The improved systems with fewer input features and higher precision, facilitates the development of online automatic condition monitoring systems.
