Developing model requirements for patient flow simulation studies using the Unified Modelling Language (UML)

This research focuses on helping Laundry Kilometer 28 in recording cash in and cash out transactions which are still manual so it is not efficient because of the increase in customers. Researchers conducted an analysis using the PIECES method to find out how the system is running, what are the system deficiencies and what the system needs. The researcher designed a system for recording incoming and outgoing cash at Laundry Kilometer 28 using the waterfall method with UML (Unified Modeling Language) tools. Methods of data collection in the form of interviews and direct observation to analyze the Kilometer 28 Laundry business process to owners, cashiers and regular customers. The results of this study are system design with use case diagrams, activity diagrams, class diagrams and sequence diagrams compiled with draw.io, Microsoft Visio Drawing which is then visualized for its interface with Microsoft Power Point.

Unified Modeling Language (UML) plays an important role in the modern software development process by offering standardized methods for visual modeling, analysis, and design of complex systems. This paper discusses the main aspects of storing, editing, and integrating UML documents with integrated development environments (IDEs). The main focus is on comparing the two main formats for storing UML models – XML Metadata Interchange (XMI) and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON). XMI, being an official standard developed by Object Management Group, provides a high degree of detail and compatibility with various UML tools, making it preferable for large and complex projects that require support for the full UML specification. At the same time, JSON is simple and flexible, which makes it suitable for projects where speed of development and ease of integration are important, although it is inferior to XMI in describing complex aspects of UML models. The paper analyzes in detail the methods of editing UML documents, including manual editing and automated approaches, using APIs and scripts. Manual editing is useful when you need to make small changes to the structure of a UML document, but it can be time-consuming and error-prone when working with large projects. Automation, on the other hand, provides effective tools for mass editing and generating UML elements, which significantly speeds up development and minimizes the likelihood of errors, especially since modern tools such as StarUML offer the necessary tools for programmatically modifying UML documents by integrating them into development processes. Combining of UML documents with integrated development environments also plays a key role in increasing development efficiency, as this allows automating code generation based on UML models, maintaining synchronization between code and diagrams, and facilitating visualization and documentation of architectural solutions. Despite the significant advantages, there are challenges associated with limited support for all UML features and potential conflicts between models and code. This only emphasizes the need for further research in this area. Prospects for further research include the development of new methods and tools for working with UML documents, improving their integration with development environments, and using artificial intelligence to automate the analysis and design of UML models. Attention should also be paid to the using of UML with continuous integration processes, which can significantly increase the flexibility and adaptability of software development. Thus, the study of the structure of storing, editing, and integrating UML documents is an important area for optimizing the design and development of modern software systems.

To most in the software community, "modeling" is drawing pictures, something much different than "coding". While programming languages must be specified precisely enough to be executable, this has not necessarily been the case for modeling languages. Indeed, the well-known Unified Modeling Language (UML) has for years had a specification that is far from precise. However, precise models are quite common in other engineering disciplines, and there has been a minority even in software engineering that have created models that are precise enough to be, themselves, executable. Over the last decade, the UML community has more generally come to realize the benefits of having at least a subset of UML specified with precise execution semantics. While not all models need to be executable, executable models can support early testing and analysis of the design of critical software systems, as well as supporting simulation for communities using UML for modeling beyond just software (such as SysML for systems engineering). As a result, there has been a great deal of work in recent years toward the standardization of precise, executable semantics for UML models - the "meaning" behind the pictures: Foundational UML (fUML), the Action Language for fUML (Alf) and the recently completed Precise Semantics for UML Composite Structures. These new specifications provide the promise of widespread support for executable modeling across the many UML tools now on the market.

The IEEE 1588 standard specifies a protocol enabling precise synchronization of clocks in measurement and control systems implemented with technologies such as network communication, and distributed objects. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a powerful tool for object-oriented modeling, design, and development of complex distributed systems. This paper describes an object-oriented model for the IEEE 1588 standard-v2, which has been developed using UML tool at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Tliis model consists of the data types, datasets, entities, and devices of IEEE 1588 standard-v2. The model has been used to produce C++ source codes, and create C++ libraries for the IEEE 1588 standard-v2. With the help of this object model, the development time of IEEE 1588-basd distributed measurement and control applications can be reduced dramatically.

Object constraint language for code generation from activity models

Along with the increasing number of internet service users at PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+), the number of customer complaints about the services received also increases. At this time PT. Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+) still does not have a system that accommodates customer complaints. Therefore, the author focuses on the purpose of this study to design a Customer Complaint Service Application design for PT. Indonesia Comnet Plus (ICON+) Palembang branch. The customer complaint application at PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+) is designed using the UML (Unified Modeling Language) tool which is used to describe the system designed and to make it easier to visualize the system designed by the author. This application is designed using Figma to design the user interface. Meanwhile, to design the database design the author uses a sqlite database. The research method applied in this research is the development of the waterfall method which describes a systematic and sequential approach (step by step) in software development. (ICON+). Where customers can submit complaints through this application without having to come directly to the ICON + Office to be more effective and time and cost efficient. Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) Tools is a set of software that results in high-quality and maintainable software products. The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is one of the most commonly used CASE tools for analyzing and expressing software requirements. Considerably, UML overcomes ambiguity limitation which results from infamous shortcoming of national language. However, how to express requirements of E-Commerce System is still a very challenging problem. In this paper, requirement analysis is highlighted by IBM Rational Rose and Microsoft Visio, and typical E-Commerce system by UML is investigated as well. At the end, a guideline generated for Jewellery E-Commerce (JEC) is presented by UML use cases, activity diagrams, and data flow diagrams in details.

This survey article explores techniques for such re-evaluation that can be classified as regression testing and suggests regression testing criteria for designs. These might vary depending on testing objectives and include both selective and regenerative regression testing approaches. The article provides a concise overview of regression testing approaches related to various UML design notations including use cases, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, and statecharts, as well as combinations of these models. It discusses UML-related techniques involving cost and prioritization during selective regression testing. Finally, it evaluates these techniques with respect to inclusiveness, precision, efficiency, generality, accountability, and safety. The main purpose of this paper is to present knowledge-based Enterprise model (EM) sufficiency as data repository for Unified Modelling Language (UML) models generation. UML models are one of the most usable modelling languages in system lifecycle design stage, despite the problem domain of the system. UML models can be generated from Enterprise Model by using particular transformation algorithms presented in previous researches. Generation process from Enterprise model is represented by certain Hospital Information Management process example. Generated UML dynamic Use Case, Activity, Sequence and State models of different perspectives of Hospital Information Management process prove sufficiency of stored information in Enterprise model.

This work studies the performance and dry mass of the under development LOX/Ethanol L75 liquid rocket engine. To this end, an object-oriented program written in C++ was developed. The program is intended to be versatile and easily extensible in order to analyze different configurations of liquid rocket engines. The UML (Unified Modeling Language) tool is used to model the architecture of the codes. UML diagrams help to visualize the code structure and the communication between objects, enabling a high degree of abstraction. The cryogenics Vulcain and HM7B engines power cycles along with the staged-combustion SSME engine perform the verification of the codes. Finally, the influence of changes in design parameters on the performance and dry mass of the L75 rocket engine is analyzed.

The purpose of this research is to produce a computerized employee payroll information system where the employee payroll information system of PT. Gemah Makmur Sejahtera still uses a manual system. The preparation of reports that still use Microsoft Excel worksheets also takes a long time, besides that the manual preparation is also vulnerable to user negligence in recording it. In this study, to minimize negligence in recording, the author will apply the accrual basis recording method, where the recording of salary expenses is carried out when a transaction occurs. This research was arranged by research and development method. The Employee Payroll Information System at PT Gemah Makmur Sejahtera is an employee payroll information system designed using a research and development methodology with UML (Unified Modeling Language) tools, direct observations and interviews with related parties. which can make it easier for the salary calculation stage, automatic report preparation, and automatic salary slips, resulting in more effective and efficient information.

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan sistem informasi penyewaan kaset secara komputerisasi dimana sistem penyewaan kaset sebelumnya masih menggunakan sistem manual, sehingga lebih efisien dan optimal guna mendukung kemajuan dan perkembangan rental tersebut. Dengan memanfaatkan sistem informasi penyewaan kaset yang sudah terkomputerisasi ini dapat memberikan kemudahan dalam pelayanan dan penyajian informasi, meningkatkan kinerja serta pengolahan data yang lebih baik, tepat, cepat dan akurat. Peningkatan kinerja kerja tidak terlepas dari sarana dan prasarana, salah satunya adalah dukungan teknologi dan sistem informasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Dimana data dapat diproses dan diolah sehingga menghasilkan suatu informasi guna mendukung keputusan yang baik. Persaingan yang semakin ketat akibat perkembangan pesat bidang teknologi serta pergeseran demografi dan kondisi ekonomi yang tidak menentu juga dapat memicu perubahan di lingkungan bisnis ke arah ketidakpastian dan kompleks. Daya saing sebagai dasar keunggulan ditentukan oleh kemampuan berkembang dan memahami perubahan perilaku atau organisasi (sistem) yang melibatkan kombinasi pemikiran, proses serta pemenafaatan secara efektif teknologi dan manusia guna menghasilkan sesuatu yang berbeda atau lebih baik. Sistem Informasi Penyewaan Kaset (CD) pada Rental Kaset Akin Tanjung Pendam Kabupaten Belitung ini merupakan sistem informasi penyewaan kaset yang dirancang dengan menggunakan metodologi berorientasi objek dengan alat bantu UML (Unified Modelling Language), pengamatan langsung dan wawancara dengan pihak yang terkait. The implementation of health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on health service activities in dental clinics. Arrangements to keep distance and avoid crowds are important points in the implementation of dental health services for the community. The e-clinic system provides an alternative solution to assist dental health service workers in carrying out the administrative process and for doctors who diagnose patients through the use of web technology. This study made with the aim of analyzing and designing an e-clinic system to help dental clinic services during the Covid-9 pandemic. To get research results that suit its needs, the case study method is used with the application of prototype system development through an object-oriented systems approach. Modeling uses UML (unified modeling language) tools and testing is done using a black box. E-clinic models and system prototypes are the results of research conducted. The e-clinic system that was built is expected to make it easy for the community to get dental health services in clinics by implementing well-maintained health protocols.

The printing purchase order (PO) information system uses the WhatsApp gateway, which aims to provide PO Printing and customer invoicing services. This time, PT MIG is engaged in graphics, which already has regular customers and print routines. The problem that often occurs is the management of customer transactions, where customers make print orders using WhatsApp Messenger more often. So that the admin has difficulty recording it, because the message is deleted or forgot to write it down. The design of this system uses UML (Unified Modeling Language) tools with the Prototype model.
