Development and implementation the range management system in a multi-flow fabricator

This paper presents a theoretical research framework that was used to analyse operational risk management (ORM) system practices in Australia. It provides a new perspective on how to use national and international operational management system standards as a basis for systematic management of operational risks. Based on the extensive literature review and the analysis of operational risk management system practices that are common in Australian organisations, this paper identifies the critical factors for effective use of an ORM system. The proposed framework could also be used as a model to research ORM system applications in other countries.

The implementation of performance management and appraisal system in any organization is to accomplish its strategic goals and objectives. The foundation of any organization is the performance management system (PMS). Organizations would not be able to survive if workers did not perform their assign duties. Organizations would be competitive and productivity would rise if workers gave their best effort. Performance appraisals (PA) are seen to be a useful Human Resource Management (HRM) tool that measures the standards that any organization or company sets for its workers by monitoring each worker’s performance in relation to the organization’s objectives. In Gombe State Treasury, staff evaluation performance is conducted manually which result to a lot of problems such as data inconsistency, inadequate storing of posting history, limited accessibility and flexibility among others. To address these issues online appraisal system was developed and implemented in the organization using water fall model as the adopted methodology and it is evaluated by distributing questionnaires to the staff and the management, analysis was carried out based on the defined hypothesis to see the impact of the system in the ministry which was found that the system has significant impact in conducting the appraisal exercise on both the staffs and the management as such it overcome the mentioned challenges faces during the exercise. The new system was designed to be more effective and productive for conducting staff appraisal exercise, eliminating all types of delay and tension. This research work made use of data collected from the organizations materials and journals from various authors and software was developed to effectively achieved aims of the research. The implementation of the system was carried out using PHP, JAVASCRIPT, CSS, APACHE and MYSQL for the database was carried out in the research. The system will automatically reduce the time and effort in the process. The system also evaluated by the staff of the organization and the data collected were analyzed and concluded that the system has significant impact in conducting the process based on the defined hypothesis.

In order to reduce operational risks and to improve the risk management and control level in substation, a substation operation safety monitoring and management system (3D2S2M) has been structured based on three-dimensional (3D) laser modeling technology. In this paper, we introduce how to build such a system and to describe its implementation details. A 3D lidar scanning technology is used to perform a holographic scan of the whole internal area in a substation to obtain color point cloud data of buildings and all equipment. Then, a novel 3D visualization safety monitoring and management system, named 3D2S2M, is developed by performing a 3D reconstruction of the point cloud data. Based on the real 3D scene model of 3D2S2M, the method of 3D distance measurement is used to replace manual on-site investigation for improving operation and maintenance efficiency. In addition, a real-time high-accuracy localization method is proposed, in order to identify and analyze the positioning and the behavior of the personnel, and the movement trajectory of the equipment. By combining positioning information and the electronic fence that used in 3D2S2M, risk levels of the personnel (or equipment) are evaluated and the corresponding alarm is issued to prevent dangerous behavior, thereby the operation risk is reduced in substation.

This paper presents a scheduling heuristic to aid the operators in semiconductor fabrication facilities (commonly referred to as fabs) in choosing what type of lots to process next and whether to change machine setup in order to reduce cycle time. Specifically, this study focused on developing a scheduling heuristic for ion implanters at Cirent Semiconductor (currently Agere Systems) in Orlando, Florida, where implanters are considered to be a bottleneck workstation. The re-entrant flow of production passes several times through the implanters at different stages of the wafer production, requiring changes to the current settings of the workstations and thus incurring a significant setup time. The scheduling heuristic aims at balancing workload levels for implanters processing jobs at different stages of the wafer production lifecycle. This is accomplished by first processing those jobs that contribute most to the increase in inventory levels at the bottleneck workstation. The measures used to evaluate the performance of the proposed heuristic were mean cycle time, mean work in process (WIP), and standard deviation of cycle time. The performance of the proposed heuristic was compared with the scheduling rules currently in use and other commonly used dispatching rules using a validated simulation model. Simulation results showed that the introduced heuristic performs better than all other rules in terms of mean cycle time and WIP in all cases, and better in terms of standard deviation of cycle time for most cases tested. The heuristic can be used at any bottleneck workstation that processes products at different stages of their production cycle and that requires a significant setup time.

In a long-term perspective of development of spatial information industry, security regulation, such as limiting public picture resolution of aerial photographs, needs a rational improvement. However, unplanned deregulation of spatial information could lead problematic results such as national security issues because its present security management system is not established in reasonable manner. The main purpose of this research is to suggest the improvement plan of spatial information security management system to meet the reducing security regulation in accordance with changes of political and economic condition including current national spatial information security polices and spatial information industry. From an analytical standpoint, we examined the overall aspects of legal, operation management, and technical system while we maintained especially integrated perspective of spatial information security management. Followed by investigation of spatial information security issues, as well as its regulation and policies in overseas, rational improvement plan of security management is proposed in the aspects of legal, operation management, and technical system. It is also suggested the three-step improvement plan of reducing regulation of security management system.

Introduction. The innovative way of development today is considered the most rational and effective. The relevance of using modern technologies in all spheres, in particular in the operational management system, is becoming obvious. Operations management is about effectively managing any operations, but lately it has become more and more complex. The emergence of a large number of advanced technologies allows subjects to make decisions that should lead to important and strategic positive consequences for the company. However, it can cause harm, cause negative processes for internal life, affect the structure of the company. The main thing here is efficiency in managing operations of any nature. Thus, consideration of the main directions of development of operational management technologies should be highlighted as the most relevant. Methods. General scientific and special methods were used in the process of research, in particular: the analytical method was used when reviewing literary sources; the classification method made it possible to differentiate the main components of operational management; the method of description was used to give them a detailed description; the monographic method was used in the study of literary sources on the details of control elements; the system and analytical method was applied in the processing of the received information. Results. The theoretical, organizational and practical principles of the development of operational management in companies were considered in the article. It has been established that today there is a modernization and revision of a number of issues regarding the effectiveness of the production management system in companies in connection with the active transition to global criteria for the effectiveness of production management and the exit from the crisis. Directions for the development of operational management were proposed, which will make it possible to modernize the structural elements of management in the company. Discussion. The obtained recommendations can be used to improve the effectiveness of operational management, which will involve improving the methodology, developing a progressive regulatory framework, increasing the professionalism of managers in relation to management activities, which should be aimed at comprehensively solving the problems of improving the processes of development, adoption, and most importantly, the implementation of management decisions, which will directly affect the improvement of production efficiency in the future. This paper analyzes the current situation and Countermeasures of IT management system, and the necessity of adopting intelligent management in website management, and puts forward the design of open IT operation and maintenance management system based on data mining, so as to improve the system performance by optimizing the system hardware structure and equipment. Based on the development of the existing software and the construction of the information system, combined with the experience of IT operation and maintenance, user needs and advanced IT service management concept, the equipment maintenance management system based on IT operation and maintenance is designed and developed. The system has simple operation and good interactivity. It provides users with the functions of equipment maintenance management and information tracking. It can also query the real-time information according to the actual needs of users, and make the system maintenance The experiment shows that the open IT operation and maintenance management system based on data mining can better meet the needs of users and design requirements.

Although companies systematically introduce management systems to improve performance and reduce major accident risks, gaps remain. The mismatch between HSE management system and practical HSE works, line and HSE departments and HSE requirements and actions exerts significant negative impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of HSE management. Under these circumstances, operational management system (OMS), barrier management system (BMS), process safety management and asset integrity management are all studied and applied in an oilfield. The oilfield experienced nine years of development, and the production capacity increased from 4,000 to 400,000 barrels per day. Almost 7,000 people were working in the oilfield during peak time from around 40 countries. During such a development, HSE management was extremely challengeable, and a practical and integrated HSE risk management model was pursued and established. This paper describes a method of HSE risk management integration called safety net model. The model physically segregates oilfield facilities into individually managed areas or grids. A safety grid is the basic unit of a safety net, and the safety net comprises a series of correlative and interactive safety grids from bottom to up. OMS, HEMP and BMS are the bases of safety net model. Each safety grid complies with the principle of twin orientations: the identification of HSE hazards and assessment of HSE risks and the formulation and substantiation of systematic risk control measures. Specifically, the safety grid has two sets of basic components: hazard, output and time (HOT) and authority, boundary and control (ABC). HOT refers to hazard orientation, and ABC refers to risk control orientation. Two sets of components define attributes of each safety grid. The risk profile is assessed for each grid, in which technical safety and consequence studies are introduced to visually represent at risk locations. Overlaying contours and process boundaries as typical examples result in a simplified model that enables area owners to recognise risks, controls and mitigations so that they can introduce suitable risk reduction measures for safe operations. Through components (HOT ABC) of each safety grid, OMS and BMS are introduced to operational sites and positions directly and easily. Six components are connection points of every safety grid, and all safety grids are knitted to an integrated safety net. The implementation of safety net model contributes to good HSE performance of the oilfield studied, and the resulting performance is recognised and appreciated by local government and funding parties. This paper focuses on how to communicate the information in compliance with the principle of twin orientations from safety studies recorded in OMS and BMS to the safety grid. Comprising safety grids, safety net model is an applicable and practical carrier of integrated HSE risk management.

Purpose The literature highlights the relevance of performance measurement and management system in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to face the current competitive environment. However, a number of studies investigate how performance measurement and management system is effective for evolving and how contingency factors could influence this change. Newer experiences are sporadic and rarely investigated by researchers and practitioners. The purpose of this study is to identify the feasible evolutionary path of performance measurement and management system in leading SMEs to respond to current business challenges. Furthermore, it aims to contribute to the understanding of the role of key contingency factors influencing this evolution. Design/methodology/approach A longitudinal case study, based on retrospective and real-time investigations, is performed to investigate the primary evolutions of the performance measurement and management system and its key determinants. Findings The findings highlight two evolution paths, increasing the maturity of performance measurement. The first path highlights a strong command and control of performance management; the second path shows a democratic and participative of performance management. Moreover, management information system, organizational culture and management style are highlighted as key contingency factors in the change of performance management. Originality/value The authors contribute to knowledge in performance measurement field, showing how the efforts for developing performance measurement and management system in a leading SME could determine two different evolutionary paths. Furthermore, the paper describes the increasing role of organizational culture, management style and management information system in performance management evolution, as well as the relevance of online chats and social media in performance management activities.

This research is dedicated to studying the implementation of teacher performance management system and its impact on the quality of education. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, the researcher seeks to understand teachers' experiences, the challenges of implementing this system, and its contribution to student achievement. It is highlighted that teachers have a high awareness of the performance management system, but they face challenges such as heavy workload and limited resources. School leadership plays a crucial role in creating a conducive environment for the implementation of the management system. The research shows that successful implementation of the teacher performance management system correlates with improved education quality. Recommendations include curriculum development, strengthening the role of school leadership, implementing a clear reward system, revising school policies, and conducting further research. These recommendations aim to improve practices and policies that encourage teacher involvement and enhance education quality. This research contributes to a better understanding of the complexity of implementing teacher performance management systems and their importance for education quality. The findings and recommendations of this research can serve as a basis for improving practices and policies at a broader level of education.

Logistics, or operations management, is one of the management systems in a company and can best be understood as a performance management system. It is this aspect that is given special attention in this article. In addition, the article pays special attention to delivery, that is, high filling speed, reliable delivery and short lead times. No other management system in the company focuses so much on this task.

Performance appraisal and performance management were one of the emerging issues since last decade. Many organizations have shifted from employee's performance appraisal system to employee's performance management system. This paper has focused to study the evolution of employee's performance appraisal system, critics the system suffered and how the performance management system came to the practice. The main purpose of this paper is to differentiate these two systems, employee's performance appraisal and management system. This paper uses a review of the literature to evaluate the development of appraisal system and argues the critic areas of appraisal system. The review identified as advancement in the management field and growing complexity in corporate sectors demand more capable HR, so mare appraisal of employee's performance is not sufficient. Employee's contribution should be aligned with organizational objectives and strategy. Performance management eliminates the shortcomings of performance appraisal system to the some extent.

Performance management focused on development enhances individual and organisational performance and enables improved services. Achieving performance management objectives is vital for addressing healthcare worker shortages and ensuring equitable, quality healthcare. A weakened South African district-based primary health care system links to inadequate leadership and governance. This study aimed to explore how doctors in primary health care perceive performance management and development systems. The objectives examined what medical officers understand about it and their experiences. Emerging themes may provide insights into enhancing implementation. This study used a qualitative, interpretive, and phenomenological research design. Stratified purposive sampling based on PMDS completion and employment duration led to four focus group discussions with 17 participants. A thematic analysis was performed. The overarching theme was the Performance Management and Development System as a necessary evil, with benefits and challenges. The subthemes included understanding components, comprehending clinic systems to improve outcomes, nurturing employee-supervisor interactions, fostering performance and learning culture, and facilitating personal and professional growth. Additional subthemes included ambiguity in fairness, lack of management capacity, and need for a bottom-up approach and realistic implementation. Effective implementation of a Performance Management and Development System requires managers and supervisors to drive this process strategically. Those responsible for clinical governance should invest in personal development to understand the process and consider appropriate implementation tools.

The performed analysis showed that integrity management is required for ensuring stable and reliable operation. Along with many other processes in the field of industrial safety, integrity management is an important process for the prevention of cases of equipment depressurization, and, therefore, for preventing people by storing hydrocarbons inside the pipelines and vessels. High quality integrity management leads to high production operations efficiency and has a positive effect on the entire business. The article presents the results of the implementation of operation management systems (OMS) in various companies. It shows how deeply integrity management, being part of OMS, is integrated into all the areas of production operation activity. To achieve the high level of production operations reliability, all the industrial and occupational safety processes must be interconnected and form a single system. The conducted analysis shows that OMS of different companies have both similarities and differences. OMS is often developed based on the existing industrial and occupational safety management systems, which explains the focus of such systems on safety. The latest statistics show that this is the right approach, however, OMS of different companies differ from each other due to different experiences, the size of the company, the specifics of the country of operation and the presence of current problems. It is fair to note that there is no single correct OMS structure since each company must consider its own needs and its own specifics when developing its system. However, in general, the development and implementation of such systems contribute to improving the reliability, safety and efficiency of production operation activities. A business organization will continue to make various efforts to survive even to develop themselves. The company which is engaged in the creative industry in recent years has experienced a delay in production which is classified as quite high, the amount of output produced is still below the targeted amount and has decreased the quality of products that have an impact on financial success, so the Study on Identifying Organizational Effectiveness Using Six Box Model. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection tools in the form of documentation, questionnaires, interviews and focused group discussions. Based on the problem and data analysis shows the existence of problems about the performance process in the company which consists of the process of identifying, encouraging, measuring, evaluating, improving and rewarding employee performance. This employee’s performance needs to be managed properly to achieve organizational goals, so that it becomes a performance management concept. With the implementation of the Performance Management System in the company, the evaluation process of performance results becomes easier so that the provision of rewards and punishments will also be easier to implement in an effort to increase organizational effectiveness.
