Distance protection relays installation prioritization in distribution networks using analytic hierarchy process and cost-benefit analysis

Through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program, the target is to address all forms of malnutrition and reduce stunting and wasting in toddlers by 2030. This movement involves policymakers working together to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. The objective of this study was to analyze and prioritize, through the Hierar chical Analytical Process (AHP), public policy strategies to accelerate the reduction of stunting in the city of Tasikmalaya. Methods: This research was conducted using a mixed method, including a qualitative approach for interviews and a quantitative approach for prioritization analysis using AHP. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling, with 14 respondents, with the inclusion criteria were: more than 5 years of experience in nutrition policy, representation from key institutions, and a decision-making level of middle to upper management. Interviews were conducted to obtain information on strategic issues in stunting management in Tasikmalaya City. The selection of these alternative policy strategies will be determined in focus group discussions (FGDs) held at government institutions. AHP analysis is carried out using Expert Choice software version 10. Results: Based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process from respondents, the most important alternative strategy is the macronutrient intake intervention. This was determined through an evaluation based on four key criteria: budgetary readiness, infrastructure, institutional sustainability, and community readiness. For example, providing locally sourced food supplements, such as eggs and milk, to toddlers is considered the most rapid and effective way to address stunting in toddlers. This research found that three months of Food Supplement support resulted in increased weight, as well as improvements in nutritional status. Most toddlers experienced weight gain during the support period. Conclusion: Macro-nutrition interventions are clearly superior to other program strategies because this program can be sustainable. The government has to provide more macronutrient interventions for toddlers .

Objectives: This article shows the application of the Analytical Hierarchical Process to select conveyance in a company that distributes Cement Blocks. Methodology: The Analytical Hierarchical Process was applied taking into account the criteria, Variable Cost, Service, Capacity and Reliability, and conveyance that fit the characteristics of the municipality and the company. Findings: The Process, which allowed to evaluate these criteria and based on these determine the prioritization of the alternatives and the selection of the most efficient method according to the selected criteria. Application / Improvements: The Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) is a tool which allows supporting Decision Making, by analysing multiple criteria and depending on their relationship, obtaining a hierarchy in the alternatives, being the one with the greatest impact or hierarchy the decision to choose. Objective of grinding process is to generate high quality surface finish on work piece. There are many parameters which influence on the work piece roughness. Work piece material and characteristics, grinding wheel specification, grinding conditions and dressing conditions influence on the surface quality of the work piece. Selection of grinding wheel is important aspect for producing good quality of surface finish on the work piece. The main components of grinding wheel are the abrasive grains, bond material and porosity. Selection of correct grinding wheel is necessary for generating better surface finish on the work piece. Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) is used for ranking of vitrified bond grinding wheel parameters on surface roughness on the work piece in sub sequent grinding operation. The grit, grade, (Hardness of wheel) structure and type of abrasive are critically assisted in terms of the surface finish produced on work piece in the subsequent grinding operation. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) shows that the abrasive grit of grinding wheel has first rank and grade (hardness) of the wheel has Second rank for the producing surface finish on the work piece after grinding operation. Structure and type of abrasive of wheel have a third and fourth rank respectively. Thus, AHP gives qualitative way of controlling work piece surface roughness in sub-sequent grinding operation by selecting proper grinding wheel of vitrified bond which helps the user to select the correct grinding wheel.

Measuring the success possibility of implementing advanced manufacturing technology by utilizing the consistent fuzzy preference relations

Green Open Spaces (GOS) are an important component of the environment and, as a major spatial plan and area, play an important role in the sustainability of urban communities. The green area within the zone is 30% of the total area of the zone, according to Spatial Planning Act No 26/2007. Similarly, in the Spatial Planning Act, his PU number 05/PRT/M/2008 describes guidelines for the provision and use of open spaces in urban areas. Public and private green spaces are included in open spaces. At least 30% of urban green space is public green space, with the remaining 10% being private green space. The purpose of this research is to identify potential locations for public green spaces in Kota Palu. The survey methods used are descriptive and quantitative, with the location of required green space determined using hierarchical process analysis (AHP) and overlay analysis (weighted overlay). The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) results show that variables are followed by hazard probability in order of priority, then slope, population density, land use, and accessibility. According to the findings, the number of percentages generated by hierarchical process (AHP) analysis and weighted overlay analysis is 34.61%.

Abstract. Nowadays the science and technology progresses not only create the change to have a big impact on various industries, but also stimulate Industry 4.0 being applied in the manufacturing industry to achieve manufacturing efficiency and to reduce its cost to increase additional values. This study uses the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) evaluation method, which considers four criteria layers: Internet of things factors, Automationfactors, Intelligent factors, Big data factors, and twelve influence factors in sub-layer are: perceived layer, network layer, application layer, field layer, management layer, control layer, process control visualization, system supervisory and control omni bearing, green energy manufacturing production, variety, volume, and velocity. Then, the relative risk indicator (RRI) is obtained by the Analytical Hierarchical Process method, and the overall risk indicator (ORI) can be obtained after introducing the evaluation value of each impact factor through the case. The research results confirm that the risk assessment values obtained the hierarchical analysis method are consistent. Susceptibility to landslides is one of the geological hazards that most frequently occur along the roads and hereby mainly in those situated in mountainous areas. Through multicriteria studies it is possible to determine critical points, however, these are generally deterministic, so new methodologies that offer a probability of occurrence in the entire study area are sought. The Fuzzy method is a probabilistic technique that is based on the observed to emulate the thinking of the human being and generate an artificial reasoning. Therefore, the main objective of the current study has been to evaluate the susceptibility to landslides through Fuzzy Logic in combination with the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) in the Macas - Riobamba road. This should allow to define critical points in such road. We applied five variables being slope, precipitation, proximity to rivers and roads, as well as vegetation cover. The spatial data were transformed to raster to later standardize their values. With the support of membership functions, the membership of each variable was established to finally perform the weighted sum and obtain the resulting model. Three models were obtained with AHP and one without this, whose adjustments were 84.1%, 87.1 % 89.5% and 60.3% respectively. We identified that the susceptibility to landslides is in the part that crosses the Andes mountain range, with critical points in four specific sectors. With Fuzzy Logic it was possible to generate susceptibility maps, which support make decision processes.

This paper aims to compare two tools for decision makers that intend to support the decision of the selection of the appropriate supplier. Suppliers are crucial to both the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of companies. A critical success factor of these companies is the selection of the appropriate supplier. A methodology is proposed to optimise the evaluation process based on different criteria. The proposed approach extends the one proposed by Ordoobadi (2009, Development of a supplier selection model using fuzzy logic. Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, 14 (4), 314–327) who proposed the application of fuzzy logic (FL) where we use the same example case study in order to compare the analytic hierarch process (AHP) with FL. In this paper we demonstrate how we can achieve the same objective of expressing human assessments in the form of linguistic expressions by using AHP. Moreover, we demonstrate the capability to run a sensitivity analysis which helps to understand the causal relationships among the different factors. We demonstrate how this capability can help us to explain and predict the different relationships among criteria and alternatives. Moreover, we provide a measure that is able to capture the consistency of the decision maker's preferences. In our approach we provide a single unit of scale that is not only capable of ranking suppliers but also provides an understanding of the difference in scale between different suppliers which can then help to allocate resources accordingly. These facilities are not offered by Ordoobadi (2009). The proposed approach here can help companies to identify the best supplier in changing environments. The paper describes a decision model that incorporates a decision maker's subjective assessments and applies a multiple criteria decision making technique to manipulate and quantify these assessments. Unlike many similar studies, two techniques have been performed on the same case study in order to improve our understanding of the differences in the proposed techniques.

In this work, rather than relating different areas of knowledge, the authors make use of logic, which is intrinsic to mathematical models. They discuss one of the fallacies that hides behind the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). In particular, the analysis of the consistency index, sometimes referred as the Saaty consistency or simply the consistency, will be discussed. The AHP is based on three fundamental axioms: reciprocity, homogeneity, and synthesis. However, it gives a great relevance to consistency, which is managed like a fourth axiom. On each of these four axioms, some comments will be made. However, this work will focus mainly on discussing the importance of the consistency index, to which, undoubtedly, a large number of essays and many hours of work have been devoted. In trying to answer the question, the calculation of consistency is really important. The aim of the paper is to raise a discussion of one of the fallacies that hides behind the analytic hierarchy process and present a simple and direct way to handle Saaty consistency.

On-demand home services have transformed the manner in which individual’s access and use home services. Technology has been instrumental in facilitating this change by offering platforms that link service providers with clients. This study aims to utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique, is proposed to prioritize on-demand home service systems. This methodology is applied to top five on-demand home service systems Urban Company, Zimmber, House joy, Mr.Right and Taskrabbit by comparing the data from each criterion, the systems could also improve their services for better experience. Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) was utilized in order to determine the weights and decision of each factor to the study. The data was gathered through google forms survey questionnaires at Hyderabad, India. Based on the computed weighted alternatives, UrbanCompany is the top alternative, Housejoy as second one, Zimmber is at third position, MR.Right at fourth position,and Taskrabbit at last position.

Nanotechnology has had revolutionary effects in various fields of industry such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and biomaterials. However, upstream oil industry has been noticeably slow in adopting the emerging technologies. This is mainly due to the exceptionally large investments needed to implement novel technologies in this industry. However, the projections for the increasing global energy demand require that oil and gas industry inevitably move toward adopting the emerging technologies. The high risk associated with enormous investments required for this aim necessitates measured and well-researched energy policies, with regard to the implementation of nanotechnology in the oil and gas industry. This paper presents a concise summary of the research reported in the literature on the potential benefits of nanotechnology in upstream oil industry. These applications were categorized into ten groups, and presented to a pool of experts, who judged on their relative importance with respect to various decision-making criteria. All this information was then compiled into a single matrix, which indicates the priority of each investment alternative with respect to every criterion in the form of a raw number. Finally, using a decision-making software package, a dynamic analytic hierarchical process (AHP) analysis was performed, providing a route to customized investment policies.

This paper proposed the Cloud Storage Service Selection Strategy under the cross-datacenter environment. Due to the dynamic network environment and the independence between the data centers, this paper presented Cloud Storage Service Selection Strategy across the data center based on AHP–backward cloud generator algorithm. The strategy combines the theory of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) analysis and uncertainty reasoning of cloud method by means of collecting cloud storage providers’ quantitative performance data and inferring qualitative classification of service capability, to select Cloud Storage Service Selection Strategy across the data center. Simulation results show that the strategy has a great advantage in system load balance, replica access rate, and data reliability.

Legacy protection schemes face new challenges as Inverter Interfaced Distribution Generation (IIDG) significantly changes the transient fault response of the distribution grid. The performance of the protection near the IIDG side is adversely affected by Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) and the negative sequence current suppression control characteristics of the IIDG. The operational characteristics of the protection are very different from those of the legacy protection schemes used in the distribution grid. Traditional overcurrent protection schemes cannot meet the requirements of selectivity and sensitivity. This paper analyses the influence of the IIDG on the protection schemes used in the distribution grid. Based on the positive sequence voltage polarization impedance criterion this study proposes a polarizing impedance criterion based on the fault component of positive sequence voltage, which can adaptively follow the fault resistance variation to satisfy the requirements of grid operation. The simulation results show that: (a) the proposed criterion is immune to the adverse effects of the transient characteristics of the IIDG; and, (b) it can adaptively follow the change of fault resistance making it suitable for application in short distribution lines. Using specialized System-on-Chip technology, a new distance protection device has been developed and tested on an industrial site. Simulation results and field tests showed that the new distance protection meets the requirements of the distribution grid with IIDGs.
