Bibliometric analysis of information literacy research in the social field for the 2018-2022 period was carried out based on Scopus data. The analysis aims to find out the main information on social information literacy, sources of social information literacy research results that have an impact, the most cited documents globally, trending topics, keywords that often appear in social information literacy, the most relevant affiliations with information literacy in the field of social, thematic evaluation, and information literacy network maps in the social field. The analysis was carried out using the bibliometric method using the Scopus database for the 2018-2022 period. The results of the analysis show that during the 2018-2022 period there were 1925 documents resulting from information literacy research from 384 different sources. The Journal of Academic Librarianship is the most influential journal with a total of 557 citations. Information literacy, academic libraries, and higher education are trending topics in the period 2019 - 2021. The affiliate that most publishes the highest social information literacy is University Librares. The social field information literacy network map is divided into 4 clusters with the theme that appears most often is information literacy , information retrieval, information seeking, teaching, literacy, internet, and learning

The paper analyzed the current status of medical information literacy education home and abroad, stated the gap between home and abroad on the aspects of educational objectives, educational pattern, educational content, and the main problems of traditional medical information literacy teaching. Flipped classroom teaching model brings a new opportunity for the reform of medical information literacy education by reconstructing the teaching process and mobilizing the collaboration and interaction between teachers and students sufficiently. In this background, medical information literacy education in China should facing scientific research task; make teaching design on the basis of different stages of scientific research project and scientific research activities; conduct theoretical research and practice based on flipped classroom teaching; promote the improvement of the information literacy of the medical scientific researchers in China. Furthermore, the paper initially explored the design and implementation of medical information literacy flipped classroom teaching facing scientific research from the aspects of the teaching time, teaching site, teaching content, teaching pattern, and teaching syllabus. The existence of Community Library in Six PAUD Sambikerep Village , Sambikerep District Surabaya City expected can closer of resources in the community, causing exasperation reading (literacy) for PAUD mothers and parents of early childhood education, broaden knowledge in public life and certainly indirectly educate and improve lives the surrounding community. The purpose of this study to analyze the influence of the use of c ommunity l ibrary and information literacy of the PAUD Mother and Parent of early childhood of in the Sambikerep V illage , Surabaya City . The population in this study were all Mother and Parents PAUD as Community Library users totaling 292 people. A sample of 64% from the population that found as many as 186 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study is the probability sampling is using simple random sampling. On average respondents about the use of TBM is 3.687 and the information literacy of users is 3,853. The reliably of the questionnare was calculated to be between 0.951 and 0.882 using the Cronbach's Alpha. The analysis Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test is Significant mean score of 0,000 that each variable were normal distribution. Hyphotesis test shows α (0.05)> Significancy (0.000) were significant and simultaneous relationship. Analysi Cooeficient using Product Moment Correlation Correlations scores was r = 0.669 with significant ρ = 0.000 <α = 0.05 were medium correlations. Significant correlations t count Test score of 12.196 and T t able at significantion score of 0.05 with 185 hp 2.34667 (R 2 ) = 0,447 were positive and significant correlation between the use of TBM and the information literacy of users. It has been a major topic for the reform on higher medical education and teaching to cultivate medical students＇ professional information literacy so as to make them equipped with the information competence required for disease control or medical research.In this thesis, the concept of professional information literacy for medical students was introduced, and by analyzing the relationship of information literacy education and medical education modes, countermeasures and methods of cultivating medical students＇ professional information literacy by combining the reform on medical education and teaching were put forward. Objective – The aim of this study is to examine the conceptualization and pedagogical approaches being used in Kenyan universities to teach and learn information literacy to determine if they are effective in addressing the information needs of the 21st century. The findings of this study will act as a guide to educational stakeholders in the design, review, and implementation of the information literacy curriculum. The findings will also create awareness among librarians of the diverse concepts in information literacy and hopefully inform their practice when delivering information literacy instruction. Additionally, future researchers can leverage the insights garnered from this study to advance their own works, thereby contributing to the ongoing growth of knowledge in this field. Methods – This study employed descriptive research design to collect qualitative data from the webpages of seven universities that were purposively selected: three being private universities and four were public universities. The seven academic libraries had an active online presence and adequate documentation of information literacy. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results – The research findings show a lack of consistency in the conceptualization of information literacy. In addition, the findings demonstrate a link between information literacy conceptualization and practice. Many of the online tutorials and information literacy documentations failed to address all the aspects of information literacy. Conclusion – In order to effectively address 21st century information needs, academic libraries should reevaluate their conceptualization of information literacy. This should be followed by a comprehensive evaluation of their information literacy instruction to ensure they cover all aspects of information literacy. It is essential for these libraries to provide information literacy instruction to students throughout their academic journey rather than just focusing on first-year students. Moreover, structured assessments of students should be implemented to gain feedback on the effectiveness of these instruction programs.

A Review of: Aharony, N. (2010). Information literacy in the professional literature: An exploratory analysis. ASLIB Proceedings: New Information Perspectives, 62(3), 261-282. https://doi.org/10.1108/00012531011046907 Abstract Objective – To describe the published literature on information literacy from 1999-2009. Design – Statistical descriptive analysis and content analysis. Setting – N/A Subjects – 1,970 publications from the Web of Science database. Methods – The Web of Science database was searched using the term “information literacy” in the advanced search under “topic,” and was limited to articles published from 1999-2009. Next, information such as document type, subject areas, authors, source titles, publication years, languages, countries, keywords, and abstracts was collected from each document. A statistical descriptive analysis was conducted using the data. A content analysis was performed on the keywords and abstracts from a sampling of the results. Main Results – Information science/library science and education were the top subject areas of the identified articles, while the third largest subject area was “public, environmental and occupational health.” Nine out of ten journal titles focused on library science, however the journal title containing the second largest number of articles was Patient Education and Counseling. The content analysis revealed that the most common categories for keywords were “miscellaneous,” “health and medicine,” followed by “education.” Conclusion – The results indicated that information literacy research had been published mainly in journals associated with library science and education; however, a considerable amount of literature was published in health and medicine.

Since critical evaluation of information and its sources is one of the important topics in Information Literacy (IL). The present paper seeks to assess information evaluation skills among university students with respect to the Under Graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) level; gender; and mode of education (regular and distance education). A five point scale, the Scale of Information Evaluation Skills (SIES) with 20 items, was prepared by the authors to assess these skills on the Internet (9 items); Books or other Print Material (7 items); and Newspapers (4 items). To identify significant differences between various groups of students, t-test was performed and its effect size has also been reported. Significant differences in the information evaluation skills were found between UG and PG level students; and between the students of regular and distance mode of education.

A survey was conducted between July and November 2012 to determine how academic libraries in the United States and Canada marketed and delivered information literacy on the Web. A random sample of 264 institutions was taken from Peterson's Four-Year Colleges 2012, and the authors checked each Web site of the academic libraries of the institutions in the sample for instruction-related activities. Only 65 percent of the libraries in the sample advertised library instruction as a service on the Web, while 64 percent of the libraries boasted research guides and tutorials. Sixteen percent of the libraries provided direct links to ACRL's Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education, and 24 percent made an effort to explain and define the term “information literacy” to their users. The authors hope the findings can help determine how academic libraries are currently using the Internet to increase information literacy on the Web and set a new platform for better strategies for advocating information literacy.

For comprehension of the usage of Internet information resources and IT devices among medical college freshmen,a self-designed questionnaire survey was conducted by software online survey system among 986 freshmen in 2012 grade of Guangxi Medical University.The questionnaire consisted of 44 questions which include 1315 alternatives that covering:gender,age,profession and other basic information of freshmen ; the history of the internet browsing before entering university ; the usage of network equipment and information resources; networks morality; the relationship between networks and learning; and other related questions.The feedback led to the results that the students were generally able to use the network before they entering university and personal computers were quite common among them.Yet only minority of them use the internet for study,while majority of students just treat it as entertainment.The students hope to participate in the computer skills training to improve their internet competence during the college years.The freshmen stage is the important time for the formation and development of the students' good habits of proper use of internet information.Medical colleges should correspondingly perform related teaching to enhance the students' skills of application of internet resources and network devices.Freshmen can also promote the learning of professional courses by properly and efficiently utilize internet and improving their own information literacy. The main purpose of this article is to review the course titled as ”The History of Medical Education in Taiwan”. There were two teachers for collaborative teaching in 2007 academic year. The action plan of the course was to promote students’ information literacy by using the biographies of medical figures as the basic materials for topic inquiry. The Big6 approach was incorporated into the course, directing students in solving their information problems. On the whole, there are some learning outcomes from the course implementation. Students acquired profound understanding of the selected figures they investigated and were markedly inspired by the deeds of these medical figures. Their attitude of active and spontaneous learning was improved. Their problem-solving abilities were enhanced. However, there are still rooms of improvement: the restructure of the action programs, the appointment of teaching assistances selected among distinguished students, the stipulations of autonomous learning agreement, and etc.

Objective To study the current situation about cognition and utilization of nursing literatures by clinical nurses. Methods Self-made questionnaire was used to investigate cognition and utilization of nursing literatures. Four aspects were involved, cognition on importance of nursing research, recognition on value of nursing literatures, acquisition and utilization of nursing literatures. There were 12 questions. A total of 288 nurses of six Class-three Grade-A hospitals in Beijing were enrolled in the study by convenience sampling. Results 61% of nurses thought that nursing researches were important. 43.4% of them recognized the value of nursing literatures. 48.2% of them thought that nursing literatures were important to clinic nursing. 23.3% of them thought that it was difficult to acquire nursing literatures. None nursing journal was subscribed by 27.4% of nurses′ departments. 31.2% of nurses consulted and reviewed literatures once or twice a month. The objective of literatures review was to prepare lectures or ward round in 39.5% of nurses. 80.6% nurses consulted and reviewed literatures during breaks. 80.6% of nurses had no requirements about nursing literatures. Conclusions There is a lack of cognition on importance and value of nursing literatures by nurses. Utilization on nursing literatures is insufficient. It is important to improve information literacy of nurses, promote literatures utilization and improve quality of nursing. Data analysts. Professional storytellers. Libraries are using a variety of methods to help demonstrate the value and impact of the programs and services they offer. But it’s still garbage in, garbage out isn’t it? When should we evaluate, what should we evaluate, and how do we get optimal data? With limited resources, how can we do, and evaluate and communicate what we do, in the best possible way? This presentation will review the current status of evaluation in libraries, the drivers that influence our choices, and some emerging innovations in the pursuit of evidence. We will then focus specifically on ways to capture the impact of information literacy services, programs and resources through discussion of evaluation practices at Monash University Library. These include automated analytics for online content, survey tools to capture curriculum engagement and impact, and an evaluation framework that challenges us to embed more creative evaluation methods into program design to provide better evidence of success. With these as stimuli, we will open to the audience for discussion on the existing challenges in evaluation of library information literacy programs, and potential solutions.

Application of Web 2.0, ‘The Second Generation of the Internet’, has become one of the fastest growing communication technology and being adopted by corporate and service sector. The same is the case of library and information science service centres. Increasing popularity of Web 2.0 technology provides a prime opportunity to engage patrons in the virtual environment. It attracts users to communicate with similar interest people through networking and present myriad of resources and information in the form of multimedia, blogging, tagging, bookmarking, messaging, and social networking. This paper discusses some of the implication of the Web 2.0 application as an information awareness tool about the resources available in library and connecting to the other Jaypee Group of Educational Institutions.

Objective To investigate the health information literacy (HIL) conditions of patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) operation and to discuss the influence of HIL on the nursing knowledge acquisition behavior of the patients. Methods A total of 230 postoperative PCI patients who accepted treatment in Cardiology Department of our hospital were selected. General information questionnaire, 2012 National Residents Health Literacy Supervision Investigation Questionnaire-HIL part and nursing knowledge acquisition behavior questionnaire were adopted. Results In this investigation, 230 questionnaires were recovered and 216 of them were effective. HIL level of PCI postoperative patients was 24.1% (52/216). Differences in HIL levels of patients of different ages, residential areas and educational degrees were of statistical significance (χ2=10.577, 12.657, 37.693, P<0.05). The scores of PCI postoperative exercise method and item analysis of PCI therapy institution and nursing knowledge obtained from medical care personnel, books, Internet and speeches in patients with HIL were 3.40±0.85, 3.35±0.71, 3.37±0.82, 3.75±0.74, 3.54±0.75 and 3.71 ±0.82. They were significantly higher than the scores of 2.38±0.71, 2.40±0.76, 2.34±0.71, 2.48±0.75, 2.45±0.72 and 2.43±0.78 in the non HIL patients (t=6.657-9.000, P<0.05). The scores of nursing knowledge in coronary heart disease symptoms, PCI postoperative complications and aetiological agent of coronary heart disease, nursing knowledge sources of newspapers, TV and radio, relatives, and nursing knowledge acquisition barriers due to low educational level, incomprehension of terminology and lack of Internet knowledge of the patients with HIL were 2.37±0.82, 2.63±0.89, 2.42±0.82, 2.37±0.79, 2.50± 0.67, 2.48±0.67, 2.46±0.64, 2.46±0.85, 2.54±0.87 and 2.63±0.69. They were significantly lower than the scores of 3.43±0.78, 3.38±0.76, 3.45±0.74, 3.49±0.77, 3.32±0.81, 3.41±0.77 and 3.34±0.83, 3.46±0.70, 3.43±0.74 and 3.41±0.75 in the non HIL patients (t=-5.657-4.690, P<0.05). Conclusions HIL level of PCI postoperative patients is low, and patients in different HIL levels have different nursing knowledge acquisition behaviors.
